And I think this is exactly what PLG is doing Fraser. It is easy to see his preferred back 4 is Smith, Papac, J-Rod and Bardsley (if not in bother) so he plays them when he can. The forwards are rotating and the midfield is, to a lesser extent.

I know that Barry, hence why I said that the agent is acting on his behalf - but often agents just spout nonsense for their own agenda. I also agree re responsibility, but it is the footballing world we live in these days where agents talk crap just to get themselves a larger chunk of money
-
Ahhh, but there is no saying it is HIM that is using the press in this instance - it is his agent. And if you read the quote from Mackay there is nothing to suggest McGregor said it himself or told Mackay to do so. Yes, Mackay is his agent and is acting on McGregor's behalf but we all know just how often agent's want to line their own pockets and will make statements to suit their own agenda. So whilst I agree that PLG demands respect, and rightly so, these comments may not have been of McGregor's doing (and the quote would tend to support that theory IMO).

I also think this is what will happen. I also think that when you use the names of Clement, Ferguson (when fit and on form) and Hemdani in the same sentence..... it is screaming for us to play a 4-3-3.

http://www.sportinglife.com/football/scottishpremier/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/06/10/24/SOCCER_Rangers_McGregor.html Allan McGregor could pledge his future to Rangers despite finding himself down the pecking order at Ibrox. A string of impressive performances earned the 24-year-old the Bank of Scotland Player of the Month award for September in the absence of the injured Lionel Letizi. But he found himself warming the bench again when Letizi was drafted back into the team by manager Paul Le Guen. That prompted speculation that McGregor - whose current deal expires at the end of the season - could quit Ibrox. But his agent Willie Mackay believes he may still have a future with his boyhood heroes. "The ball is in Rangers' court," Mackay told Record PM. "Allan is a Rangers fan and I think he would consider staying if he was made a suitable offer."
-
Because he can't - he doesn't have the coaching badges. That is why he has lost so many managers - he wants to pick the team but guys like Burley refused to pick players Vlad demanded to be in the team. So the way Vlad gets to pick the team is by having a "yes" man as coach/manager.

I understand then booing but the timing couldn't have been worse. IF we had come back to take a 2-1 lead after he had been booed the fan have just demolished his confidence and he could lose another goal, NOT the way to inspire players. The time to do the booing is after the game. And I know the fans have the right to make their disappointment known but do we really think that the manager and players don't feel it too ?? PLG, if given the time, will take us in the right direction and soem of the football on display so far has shown that (at other times it looks worse than Eck's crew) - but he needs time to gel these players. I just hope he doesn't walk away from it because of the boo boys after such little time. He has also only had one transfer window. My judgement will definitely be reserved for next season.
-
But does that not mean that in those games (which are quite common in the SPL) that he becomes a passenger ? If that is the case then IMO he is a luxury player that we could get better from. I like Buffel, tons of skill, but he is a passenger far too often.
-
Agreed on both counts Frankie. I still feel Buffel is too lightweight for the SPL and he is posted missing in games. Scott Brown on the other hand gives a shift every game he plays, whether he is on form or not.
-
Exactly.... and those same fans that boo Letizi DURING a game would then think that it is all Letizi's fault if he had given another goal away. What a wonderful way to help the players gain confidence

I think it is safe to say you wouldn't suffer that stuff on here elsderslie, this forum appreciates and encourages lively debate as long as it is respectful. And it seems to be split with pro-DM and anti-DM supporters.

Can we get Jon in here to edit your response Gribz
-
Sure Gribz is drunk or sure he is gay ?
-
Nope..... you must still be drunk from the New Year celebrations. I think Papac will be playing instead of Svensson. I am a fan of the 3-5-2 as well Gribz but I have to say that the "3" wouldn't instill me with ANY confidence at all.
-
Yeah but probably not at the time Wenger did !!! Even his club at the time didn't rate him that highly. Hindsight is wonderful Gribz !

Michael Ball. Now, there's a surprise.
craig replied to elderslieblue's topic in General Football Chat
Would only be back up to Stevie Smith. BUT.... it shouldn't be forgotten that he gave up his own money so he could get a game ! -
Picked a decent one for his one out of 10 though Gav
-
Nope juffery, Ronaldhino is on a 8.5 yr contract worth something like 90 mill. So 8 year deals still allowed as far as I can tell.
-
Colshy left the forum because he owes me 100 quid !!

This has been rumoured for a while Fraser - the guy (cant remember his name) recently bought a place (mansion likely) close to DM in Perthshire (I think). I doubt the credibility of this guy owning us - but if he is a billionaire then he has money to burn. Not sure I want to go down the Abramovich route, unless the guy is in it for the long-term (and as long as his money is legal !)
-
If that is what his job is then all he can do is what is requested of him. I think this is what he is being requested to do. Mop up, play the easy pass and not lose the ball - and he has done it well. I know what you are saying calscot but you sometimes have those type of players who get little to no credit for doing their job effectively and in the manner asked of them by their manager. My issue is that if Hemdani is doing that job then there is no reason to have Fergie or Clement doing the same job, Fergie should be playing fiurther forward and being given more creative licence, but we right now have 2 CM's doing the exact same job so as long as the opponents close down the wings then nothing will happen from the centre of the field anyway.
-
Not sure about the kids schooling reasoning - I was under the impression that he was offered the termination pre-season (or even before) which is before the school year starts. All speculation anyhow.
-
With all due respect Frankie I don't even think it is arguable. There is no doubt in my mind that Hemdani has been our best player this season - and for those that say "consistently average" I don't agree - he goes about his job with minimal fuss and does what he is in the team to do. Has barely put a foot wrong all season (although either he or Fergie or both were to blame for the ICT forward getting 20-25 yds of space to run into for the shot which ultimately ended in the goal last week).

But I thought that Novo was playing on Thursday and that automatically meant that Martin was being sent back to Man U ?

"You'll Never Walk Alone" - why do Celtic sing it?
craig replied to ascender's topic in General Football Chat
I dont think they were banned from singing it, they were told not to play it over the tannoy as UEFA only wanted the CL theme playing - so as long as Celtic didn't play it over the tannoy they are ok.
