Gav, Are you serious ? Did they really say that the manky mob dominated the game ? If so then that is a shambles and so obvious anti-Rangers journalism/TV presentation. Unreal !
-
Agreed - it shouldn't have even warranted a response from Ferguson
-
Unreal..... can't believe Forest would be the team to let you down Ian
-
yeah just saw that - holy shit, fair comeback from the gooners
-
WOW..... 2-0 to Pompey, what a result that will be if it stays that way
-
Already 2-0 to Falkirk, good result for us if it stays as is. Martis (og) and Liam Craig
-
I am laughing out loud ! Not at you, just that I can imagine your reaction when Alonso steps up to take it. My horse worked out a treat...... piece of junk - beat by a short head
-
With those 3 odds on shots a return of 36 quid isn't bad - maybe better to throw 100 on it to increase the return.....
-
It's a tip Ian. They need to come up good today as I have taken a beating for a couple of weeks.

Only bet for me today is Crozan in the 8.35 at Ascot. Need a winner, been a bleak spell

Funny Gribz !! I actually think Charlton have a chance today. That coupon doesn't look too bad - good risk v reward. Will still be down though

Think it is something to do with Madonna paying to adopt a kid

Celtic get AC Milan (and other Champions League draw)
craig replied to bmck's topic in General Football Chat
If Lawell said they could win it (which is technically correct) then someone needs to drug-test him ! Muppet ! However, he obviously knows how to get positive publicity for that mob, something our venerable owner could learn from instead of burying his head inside the turret ! I think Milan will be too strong for them - will be good to see Rino go up against that little toss-pot Lennon. -
Another point that could have been mentioned would be that Vlad hates us ! Don't get me wrong, I would have loved to have seen Gordon playing for us but all those points make it unlikely - plus if he did come in we would lose McGregor - and he seems to be doing a very decent job for us - there is no saying how well he could do when given a full run as #1 and not having to look over his shoulder. Is Gordon the better keeper ? Quite likely yes - but then Gordon has also had the experience of benig 1st choice with a defence in front of him that does a good job (I didn't say good players, they just do a good job) whilst McGregor has performed admirably with nothing but bomb-scares in front of him (Stevie Smith excepted). Would be interesting to see how McGregor does with a decent defence in front of him.

I agree, and I have been a critic of Boyd too - but he isn't the only one out there. However, his absence might be the reason PLG reverted to 4-4-2 - so we may end up thanking Boyd for getting injured, making PLG see sense and then when he is fit, he will likely come back in to the 4-4-2 and still end up the SPL top scorer. Boyd NEEDS someone up front beside him - he doesn't have the touch, the skill, the pace OR the vision to play a lone role up there - but he sure as shit knows how to find the back of the net !
-
Agreed that it is difficult to say after one game Gribz - and unfair on Boyd too to lay all the blame at his feet - look at the Falkirk game, there was a full TEAM of under-performers that day (and that is just one game). I think the formation more than the personnel deployed was the reason for the convincing win on Saturday - hopefully the same formation and same result will ensuer this Sunday......

We will no doubt agree to disagree - my reasons why we won't sign Gordon are : 1. Hearts don't need the money. 2. He just signed a contract extension (my point here only relates to a FEE) 3. I doubt we would get him for less than 3 million (and that could very well be a conservative estimate) given the length of contract he is on, he is young, and obviously a talented keeper. 4. Any money we do have is required elsewhere right now and, hopefully, PLG sees that. 5. Arsenal have been credited with an interest more than once and I am sure they will not be the only big club monitoring his progress - Man U might also come into the reckoning because Van Der Sar isn't getting any younger (this is speculation on my part). I just think there are too many reasons why this wouldn't/shouldn't happen to ignore them.
-
Yeah, I don't know where you keep coming up with this Craig Gordon fantasty Gribz..... there will be bigger and better clubs than us sniffing around him and, on top of that, he would cost too much - we need major surgery elsewhere on the pitch before the keeping area (not that we won't need another keeper). But Gordon to Rangers just won't happen IMO.

Cant remember the year Gav but it was a screamer of a goal ! Would it have been 90/91 ? The problem with these "50 greatest" things is that you always have a voting population which is the current generation so the players of yore get left out unless the club achieved great things with them (ala Edwards, Charlton) or unless the player is widely recognised as one of, if not the, greatest player of all-time (ala Best).

Is Webster only on a 1 yr contract at Wigan ?

What about guys like McClair, Mark Hughes, even Ole Gunnar ??? It is a joke that Rooney is so high after so short a space of time. On the way back to Bermuda from home I bought a pack of "top trump" cards (anyone remember them ?) and the series was "football legends" - and Rooney was in it - I mean, at 21, how the hell can he be a legend already ? It is a farce, they have him in with guys like Pele, Maradona, Puskas, Eusebio - so, he has played for 4 years and he is a legend ? My arse he is !
-
Not sure Ian, have never tried to get it whilst at home - but it seems from what was said it doesn't matter if you are overseas or at home, as long as you are a World subscriber you wil get the game.
-
Niceone Bobby, I usually pay for the games - this Thursday I get it for free.... and have my dept xmas lunch so will miss it - perfect timing !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure.... I know what you are saying Gribz and every OF game is a big one but I don't think this one is huge - we won't catch them in the league anyway. We probably, sadly, have more of a chance of winning the UEFA than we do of winning the SPL - and if we don't finish top we will get either a CL drop-out or a top UEFA finisher - I think I would like a strong team out in the UEFA to ensure top spot, plus it would be a good boost for Sunday. You always run risks of injuries and, if they happen, it will be a chance for some squad players to show they are up to the task - WGS looks like he will be playing a 20 yr old CB on Sunday - so he obviously doesn't mind too much in playing young pretenders - if we have to play some we have to, even though it would be better playing them at full strength......
