  1. Based on what would he win us the league back ? His last stint as manager ? What he is currently doing for Scotland ? National and club management are very different. And the last time hwe was with us we were far superior to everyone else int he SPL in every way, he had much more resource than every other manager too. I won't dismiss his achievements with us but they were attained under very different cuircumstances to the present day !
  2. I know you haven't been around for a bit Jim but Cammy's anti-DM posts have been getting more supoprt of late. I personally won't blame DM for everything but he is still the root of our ills - he has allowed us to go from being easily the dominant force in Scotland (on AND off the pitch) to being a sorry second. We keep saying that demonstrations and the like are not the Rangers way - but will we realise it could be the ONLY way before he runs the club into the ground ?
  3. He owns 90 plus % of the club Ian and is much harder to oust. The ONLY way to oust him is to give him the 10,000 crowds of the 80's. Adn even then if he desired he could STILL stay !
  4. No thanks and no thanks
  5. I am inclined to agree with this as opposed to FJ's synopsis, although both are plausible. PLG, like him or not, never ever came across as a mercenary - and if we cast our minds back to when he signed the great Sir David Murray said he actually had more lucrative offers than us - so why all of a sidden would he be a mercenary ?
  6. I agree it is rotten to the core. Sadly though the core is still DM and he still pulls the punches. More difficult to get rid of him than either PLG or BF !
  7. Cheers my man, saved me money I think !
  8. And I apprently just became a "Key Player" - dear oh dear !
  9. All I was saying is that had he supported PLG with decent funds better players may have been more forthcoming, BF may not have felt he needed to do everyone else's job, we may have been challenging and this may have never arisen. Chain of events... which may, or may not, have started at the vert top !
  10. Should we bet on it ???
  11. Correct - which means that if we see BF being booed on Sunday we will have to accept it - sad though it is
  12. Sorry man, I think you and I were posting at the same time - I was aiming my post at Gav and Steve
  13. Come now guys - I know you are in a disticnt anti-BF stance right now.... but we all know he is worth a fair chunk of change. This thread though now looks like a moot point. Funny how quickly Derek Ferguson comes out with his "Barry will stay" comments after PLG has gone. The fall-out and PLG leaving - 2 mutually exclusive incidents ? I don't think so (I am a conspiracist at heart....)
  14. Agreed, said as much in another post Ian. But should we also have been sticking together instead of having "Please Leave Govan" banners ? The hard times were there 3 days ago the same as they are today....
  15. Yes, IF PLG was looking for an out then it would be a good way of doing so - but why not simply go to DM and say "this isn't working out, I want to leave" ? It looks, for the moment, like he won't get a severance anyway so why the need for him to "work his ticket" ?? And I guess we will see in the coming weeks whether or not the players should shoulder the blame too - because I STILL maintain we have the players to be in 2nd place and a lot closer to Celtic than they are - if they start turning it on then we have to question their attitude and application (although there could be a plethora of other reasons too)
  16. The buffoon in charge you need to look at is DM... he is the one that has allowed our club to be bargain basement shoppers... As for the "great reply" comment - I do believe that he posted more than just that one line...
  17. I don't disagree but you know what ? I would gladly accept failure in Europe right now to become the dominant force in the SPL again, especially in the circumstances we find ourselves. A steadying of the ship is needed.... for now
  18. I don't think there is any doubt that BF was the catalyst behind the rest of those players though, do you ? Yes PLG was awful since coming here - have the players not been too ? And I mean collectively - because they should be winning and losing as a team - have they not also let PLG AND the club down with the way they have been playing ?
  19. Youve clamed down ? Nice one.... Seriously, glad to see you won't boo him, we need to be united at this time
  20. Fergie's effort and love of our club is not in dispute Ian - what is in dispute is whether he tried to undermine his manager. And he could very well have been in the same situation even if sitting top of the league - we will never know
  21. So you think that Ferguson was whiter than white ? Doubt it.
  22. Some supporter you are Kidding Gav.....
  23. I think if anything Clement is the MOST likely to want to leave - he was PLG's prodigy was he not ?
  24. Agreed also does not mean it was HIS decision.
