  1. I was going to put 200 on at your 5/2 Gav - completely forgot all about it - shite !
  2. I actually don't see it as being what does Souness want to do but what do the SFA want. If Souness is Chairman of Wlves then the SFA simply won't allow him to be national team coach (if they are consistent with their "national team coach needs to be full time" position ala Walter Smith). Chairman can take up as much, if not more, of your time than being a manager can.
  3. Souness won't happen due to his involvement with this attempted Wolves takeover. Burns it is for me, he can continue the good work Smith has done.
  4. Good for you maybe, not for Gersnet
  5. Lol, yep, sure was. You could tell by those apostrophe things and the way he spelled words like "afford" - he always spelt it "affoard". Along with the usual pro-Chelsea rants. You will note "Harry Brown" has been banned.......
  6. Just as well "Harry Brown" isnt around to tell you it is the Chelsea reserves Awful result for Chelsea !
  7. How can you come to that conclusion because Gazza_8 has the personal opinion that our standard of play in Europe will be lower with WS in charge. Doesn't make him any less of a supporter than you or I. Not your best post that is for sure !
  8. Again I happen to agree on all counts Jim !
  9. Are you Lawrence McIntyre ? couldnt help it !
  10. Actually Jim his stock in the US has risen greatly of late. Fox Soccer Channel (which is not bad aside from the numpty commentators) have an advert of him regularly showing vignettes of him playing, showing him saying how he would love to play in the US etc etc. And "soccer" is becoming much more popular in the States with guys like Landon Donovan doing pretty well.
  11. Agree totally. I will take mediocrity in Europe until we can actually call ourselves the top club in the country again. We need to be realistic - we are MILES behind the Tims and until we can resolve that issue Europe is a secondary priority, or at least should be (and qualifying for the CL is actually a domestic issue, not European - before the pedants start - of which I am usually one)
  12. I agree. LA Galaxy previously said they were interested in him. And if it was LA then the Bekhams will be close to their new best friends the Cruise's. It would also allow Posh the chance to break into movies as she wants, and I can also see Beckham appearing in movies when he retires. LA is a shithole by the way !
  13. Current odds on his next team 6/4 - MLS team (Posh wants to break into Hollywood so stands to reason) 7/1 - J-League club or Spurs Notable others 14/1 - Man U, Bolton 25/1 - Celtic 100/1 - Rangers According to the bookies there is a better chance he will retire than sign for Rangers - 50/1 on retirement.
  14. what a waste of money he was - yet he came with a decent pedigree. Have to say that he never really looked that composed to me.
  15. Maybe the SFA should just have the SPL expel Rangers from playing in the league. They are within their rights to sue Walter Smith - but if Rangers have done things right (likely not though) then what would have happened is Smith resigned from the SFA, Rangers then approach an unemployed qualified individual and get him on a contract - technically there is no inducement there, although Rangers would have to pick up Walter's breach of contract costs and settlement. And yet the Tims think that the governing bodies are pro-Rangers - aye, right !
  16. Can we not get into the PLG debate here again - the article itself was a very good read (and my apologies for bringing up pieces about PLG from the article, I should have known it would have started that whole debate again - the term "flogging a fdead horse" springs to mind),
  17. Get him in the team Welcome home Wattie & Ally. Kenny, all the best !
  18. An excellent article which I would highly recommend everyone reads. Very balanced, not pro one side or the other and delves a bit into history to see where the root cause of the problems lay. The comparison between Rangers and Hearts was interesting (one I hadn't thought of), the suggestion that PLG wanted to gradually create change was one I felt was trying to be achieved, the fact he also suggests that PLG, BF, Boyd, McLeish are not the architects of the current plight of the club was what many of us are now starting to feel as well. All in all a well written, balanced view
  19. Just how enthusiastic is McDowell to be working with the team he has always supported ? And if he can do for us what he has done for them then we certainly can't complain ! From skysports Celtic's former reserve and youth team coach Kenny McDowall has revealed the lure of working under Walter Smith at Rangers was too good a chance to refuse. McDowall walked out on the SPL champions on Monday after being offered the chance by Smith to work under Rangers' new management team at Ibrox. Smith and Ally McCoist are expected to take the reins from Paul Le Guen this week and the current Scotland national team boss made the call to McDowall to gauge his thoughts. McDowall wasted little time in accepting Smith's offer and the life-long Rangers fan is now eagerly anticipating the opportunity to play a part in helping restore the fallen giants. "It's an absolutely brilliant move for me, but it's something I couldn't have seen coming," McDowall told the Daily Record. "When I got the call I was amazed. It's a great opportunity for me and I can't wait to get started. I'm relishing this chance. "The big pull was the chance to work with guys like Walter Smith and All McCoist in a first-team environment. "Even if I was under contract at Celtic I would still have jumped at this job. It all comes down to ambition in the end. "I was a Rangers fan all my life but I went to Celtic without any problem. When the offer came I didn't even give it a second thought. "I could have stayed at Celtic and waited and waited, but the opportunity might never have come. I don't blame Celtic for that. "I feel I've done my bit at that level and the time have come for me to move on. I need to be working on a Saturday again."
  20. Don't disagree - I think it is well established that PLG had poor man management skills. However, his bad man management should not be allowed to deflect from the bad influence that BF had IF true
  21. Fair points but at no point has Barry Ferguson said he was completely blameless, which is an indication, to me at least, that he wasn't blameless. I also didn't say he was disruptive. At the same time there are also people who are very quick to judge that PLG was "working his ticket" - we will never know the truth - all I am saying is I don't think he should be captain. As for why did PLG play him when he was a disruptive influence.... maybe, just maybe, because PLG preferred to have the disruptive influence on the pitch - because even IF he was a disruptive influence there is no doubting that BF gave more fight and determination than any other player for Rangers and he was also our best player over the preceding weeks (BUT you CAN be the club's best player AND a disruptive influence at the same time). I am not saying he was but it is plausible. Even if he is, there is still the perception he had something to do with it. Do you honestly think he makes for a good captain ? In my opinion he is our best player (in a bad team it must be said) but I don't think he is an effective captain.

    AndyTodd?

OR.... there may be some truth to the "cliques" rumour. There are two ways (at least) to look at any story.
  23. There have been RUMOURS Chris, mostly from PLG's side.
