  1. Instead of seeing what you want to see Cammy, take a look at the qwuote used by the previous poster - they quoted Gribz, not you - and Gribz' post suggested Sebo be given a chance.
  2. Gribz, the problem with playing Sionko ahead of Burke is, as you say, a Euro night MAY suit him better - we aren't in a position to play Sionko n a trial and error basis. Burke gave Tel Aviv a torrid time awy from home so there is nothing to suggest he wouldn't at Ibrox - Sionko is a bencher at best ! This game is not the time for playing around with team or formation.
  3. I only saw the last 25 mins or so and he wasnt in the game. The commentators said he was immense in the 1st half although they did caveat that by saying Bayern were giving him the freedom of the pitch.
  4. Phew.... that is the response I was hoping for !
  5. How does it put ours to shame ? It must be one hell of a display to put the saltires and UJ to shame
  6. Correct - we do not have a PLAYER who can win us these types of games - so why is Boyd being SINGLED out as the one that has to do it. There are plenty others who should be taking responsibility too.
  7. Sign of the times perhaps Cammy - but where is it that it is OUR obligation to air THEIR misgivings ? I know this opens that can of worms about biased reporting but we need to concern ourselves about OUR club and not theirs. If anything these displays are just as likely to backfire on Rangers and the support than they are to raise awareness to what Jock Knew. There is blatant disregard to those who suffered as well - not something we should be proud of resurfacing IMO.
  8. I tend to agree with Frankie and Gav. This does nothing to put Rangers in a good light - in actual fact it makes us look distinctly juvenile. Nor does it put Celtic in a bad light, the man has been dead for 20 years so we are talking about events which happened a LONG time ago and best left alone now IMO. Besides, is this what we, the Rangers support, have become ? Nothing more than trying to belittle Celtic or its employees ? I really would like to think that we are better - MUCH BETTER - than that ! I can't believe that we would resort to this petty point-scoring. How about those who are displaying those banners spend just a moment to think of what scars they are resurrecting for those who were subjected to the incidents themselves ? I just don't see what purpose these displays serve all these years later.
  9. Not looking too bad just now - 1-0 to the Saints just into the 2nd half !
  10. Absolutely astounding if that is true that they handed those out at Tynecastle. The club is being brought into disrepute by the whole management team. And if the score remains at 1-0 to St Mirren will the Saints also be buying the officials and players ???? It is a circus at Tynecastle - and Vlad, his cohorts in management and the fans are fast deteriorating their club into one which is more hated than either of the OF !
  11. Fraser, that was when Wattereus had just joined us - in his 1st 6 months at the Club he was excellent. However, in his next season, when he had the full season, he was far from impressive - and I think should have been dropped !
  12. Should this not be in footy chat ? He also accuses Pressley, Hartley and Gordon of throwing games. He is turning them into a bigger laughing stock than we were at the start of January !
  13. Was I living in a bubble in January or did anyone else not know that Riquelme had signed a 6 month loan deal with Boca juniors ? He would have been a great addition, even if just on loan, for the season !
  14. Aliadiere effectively won the game for Arsenal last night - his run and through ball to Ljungberg were sublime - admittedly the Bolton players were tiring but he ran past a couple of them as if they weren't there.
  15. Denilson (NOT the one that signed for Betis for a world record fee and did nothing) was immense for Arsenal last night, just a young kid too. Aliadiere was very influential when he came on too, and Ljungberg's finish was stunning. There was a solid shout for a foul at the Bolton goal too with Jaskalainen looking like he fouled Toure as Toure went up for a clearing header. Extra time was all about both teams playing with 2 defenders and even moaning Allardyce seemed to smile at the end as he knew Arsenal had pissed all over his team !
  16. Personally I think Lehmann is a great keeper and undoubtedly one of the top 2 or 3 in the EPL right now. But no way is he as good as Schmeichel, nor for that matter Seaman (who I forgot, but deserves a great deal of credit).
  17. Decent result for Osasuna - 0-0 draw in France - they will be confident in the home leg
  18. From Sporting Life Scotland have equalled their highest-ever position after climbing six places to 20th in the new list. Their rise, without playing a match in the past month, arises due to the complicated FIFA points system. Points gained over the course of a year are included in full, however results from any preceding 12 months count only for 50%, with that figure decreasing to 30% for a third year and then 20% for a fourth year. Teams who gained points at the African Nations Cup in January 2006 have duly taken a fall down the rankings, with Scotland among the main beneficiaries.
  19. Gav, Even though I am a gooner I couldn't believe you placed Lehmann above Schmeichel !! Schmeichel is the best keeper to grace the EPL - bar NONE !!
  20. One thought - how much would it cost to advertise at the game, or in the program or in the fanzines ? They are the best chance of increasing the membership and contributors - although you very well stand the possibility of attracting an element you don't necessarily want.
  21. I don't think you are being cheeky Jim, I think we ALL feel this way - is there a way of ensuring the downtime doesn't happen again ? I will contribute any way I can - just ask and it will be done (Gav, a "please don't come here anymore" won't be the response I expect.... There is one good thing about the downtime though - we managed to get rid of some of the reprobates like Colshy, Falkirk Jim... ohhhhh, wait - we let him back in - ignore that Jim
  22. The one when he stood on the ball was against Ayr Utd in the SC semi I think - absolute class. That 360 he did on the touchline was a class move too. We got him about 3 or 4 years too late.
  23. Also Stephen Frail (Ivanauskas' #2) said that if he were picking the team he would pick Gordon. Frail will likely be out of a job this week........
  24. It isn't just a top job - it is basically 2nd in command to Platini. Could be good for Scotland though - and also could be good with the SFA's attempts to get the Euro Champs extended to 16 teams.
  25. I don't disagree Ian - but even UEFA have to be getting annoyed with what is happening in Italian football, so they may start taking a stance - I won't be holding my breath though. Not sure what jurisdiction that UEFA have over domestic games though - similar to any sectarian singing at Ibrox last year, was it not that UEFA said they could only act on complaints during European games ?
