Ally won't be on the pitch though buba - so not as big a deal as it could have been. At least he shows his desire for us to succeed ! EDIT : I presume you mean McGregor then buba ?? If he is a stupid prick then I am presuming that you have seen footage which shows that this actually happened ?? I havent seen anyone yet say that they have seen that he did actually nut the guy.

Ya muppet !! hahaha

Hateley's synopsis is pretty much what most of us think, it encompasses both the Boyd supporters (goal of a start) and the detractors (playing with 10 men). I think that he can work on the "10-men" aspect of his game - but being in the right place at the right time to nick a goal is not something that can be taught.

Hemdani was excellent but then so was the whole team so should we just ramble on about them all Pete ? The problem with Hemdani (not his owndoing) is that he is ALWAYS quietly effective - and I think, in Euro games, he makes an excellent CH as there are less long balls for him to deal with, leaving him to read the game more, which is what he excels at. Burke was excellent no doubt but Ferguson was MOTM for me - he covered every blade of grass, to the extent that with 5 mins left, he signalled to someone that he was done - he had absolutely nothing left at all. He got into more goalscoting positions that ANY other player this evening - on another day he could have scored 5. This position (advanced midfield) is most definitely Fergie's best position and once we have a settled team I can see WS going with the 4-2-3-1 with Thomson and Hemdani the holding midfielders. Isn't it funny that WS seems to have grasped the basics that PLG didn't - that is a formation of 4-2-3-1 will work in Europe (it did tonight just as it did for PLG earlier this season) but it rarely works in the cut and thrust of the SPL. I also think that WS silenced some of his critics tonight about his Euro tactics - I think that his tactics AND his personnel were SPOT ON tonight. And if WS is correct with what happened at McGregor's sending off then it is the linesman that needs to be suspended, not McGregor - if he didn't actually see what happened he shouldn't be second guessing what might have happened !!
-
Aye, they scored in the last minute of extra time
-
Agreed, I thought Rae played very well indeed in the middle - he was given more of his traditional role and played it well. Personally I don't think there were any failures tonight.
-
Would like to see it again to see what actually happened. Dilemma time for WS. Given that McGregor will now be out of at least the next Euro game (dependent upon appeal) will he now give Klos some playing time to freshen himup for that game - or does he keep McGregor in as we need to secure second spot (And Gribz.... you arent allowed to answer as I already know YOUR response !! )
-
Not so sure I would say we were playing better - Tel Aviv just had to throw everything at us. Great performance and great result - why cant they play like that in the SPL ? Fergie was EVERYWHERE tonight - but every player played his part !!

YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSss
-
This team will still threaten to score so we need another one
-
YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Fergie !!!!!!! WHAT a strike too !!

WS is going with one up front, 2 wide men and BF supporting Boyd in an advanced midfield position. Interesting tactics - and obviously tactics we hope can work. If they don't I think we will see Prso coming on for Rae with BF dropping back into midfield and us employing a straight-forward 4-4-2

For those of you who are outside the uk you MIGHT be able to get it for free through the official site. Go to the live games section and you might get it there

What is the team then if it has been announced ? EDIT : Never mind - team is...... McGregor; Hutton, Weir, Hemdani, Murray; Novo, Rae, Thomson, Burke; Ferguson; Boyd.

The karaoke was probably in the hotel bar... he didn't like that Riise wouldn't sing so went upsatairs to his room and collected his driver, came back down and WHACK !

There is also though nothing to suggest that Scotland could make a success of things if they go it alone..... of course it is hard to see how they could screw things up any worse than Tony's "New Labour". I am just glad it doesn't really affect me being so far away.

OR.... Gav shouldn't be a smart bastard.....

SC is this weekend. You better change your plans Gav !

I think you miss my point. My point is that UEFA have to show equality in the handling of games under their jurisdiction. I KNOW we have to get our own house in order - and have stated that in another thread just the other day. However, UEFA have to be balanced in its handling of such matters - or were our fans the only ones in the CL or UEFA cup in the past week who were at fault for indiscretions ? I doubt it. If the fans simply didn't do it they would have nothing to go at us for, so agreed that if our own house is in order there is nothing that can be done to us - but at present it seems there is an anti-Rangers agenda out there (and I am NOT being paranoid).
-
Couldn't agree more BUT....... I hope they will be examining the events from EVERY game and not just that involving Rangers as I would be pretty sure our fans won't be the only culprits of untoward gestures.
-
Sadly the vast majority of countries suffer the same problems. If only every individual would feel the same way about cleaning up their own territory the world would be a much better place.
-
I happen to agree, but only once there is daylight between us and the rest - right now there isn't. He needs a consistent run but not when the pressure is still on.
-
You are entiteld to respond but not in the personal sense - he never once said "Cammy, I can't believe you back Sebo over Boyd". It was quite obvious that the statement was aimed at Griibz and not you - at least it was obvious to me.
-
I agree that he hasn't had enough of a consistent chance to be judged - but there is NO WAY that now is the time to do it. We are slipping further and further behind Celtic financially so that 2nd place and entry to the CL qualifiers is all the more important. Right now is not the time to give a guy a chance to show his worth, especially at the expense of a proven goalscorer (and I am not Boyd's biggest fan either !)
