It was really about stats and the fact some people consider them to be pish whilst others take enjoyment (when we are top of positive stats board anyway) from them. I think that Goldson is a great example of what we see as fans vs what the management team see each and every day. Many of our support wanted him dropped and yet he has been an ever-present. Gerrard & Co stuck with him when he was making mistakes and their loyalty to him is now being rewarded. That loyalty borne out of what they witness every day on the training pitch. Faith rewarded.

The fewer coefficient points they have the harder the draw. I wanted them to make the group stages for one reason alone - they would have Sunday/Thursday/Sunday football just like us. Beyond that I hope they get pumped every game. if we take care of OUR business then we won’t be finishing second.
