  1. Haha. Salford generated far more money than the competition too - they just did so by way of investment instead of ticket sales to fans. Nothing wrong with that, not against the rules. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it is unfair. When Souness came to Rangers, which was when 9IAR actually started, Rangers invested - yes, invested, far more money than every other club in the league - in EXACTLY the same way that Salford did - it was outside investment that took us from also-rans to title winners - and I remember only too well that at the inception of that overhaul Rangers games were being attended by less than 10,000 fans - so hardly a "far greater support". So I think that the comparison is wholly appropriate. And if you believe that there is no moral case for it then there is no moral case for Rangers either, right ? Or are you also forgetting that David Murray was spending WAY MORE than Rangers could afford on its own i.e. sustainably from its own revenue streams ? Are you also forgetting that David Murray underwrote TWO share issues in order to bring the levels of debt down at Rangers - one of which was for £50 million ? Or are you also forgetting that Dave King also invested £20 million into the club for similar reasons when Murray was the custodian ? ALL of these are EXACTLY the same way as Salford got the better players - they outspent from investment and not generic income. It is OK though, it is OK for you to be wrong Neville does know all that - he isnt stupid, he is part owner in a club in the lower echelons of league football and knows full well the disparity between the top and the rest - as much as I like Klopp, it was laughable last night when he says Neville should be "in a hot seat somewhere" - Neville is as much of a hot seat as Klopp - he is part owner of a club that employs 600 people and has had to try to keep them afloat through a pandemic. On what grounds do you think Sky wouldnt be in the running for the broadcast rights ? You have inside information on that or are you guessing ? Who would have had them instead ??
  2. All 6 EPL teams have now withdrawn from the Super League - lasted a while. On the plus side.... apparently there are clauses that anyone withdrawing needs to pay £100 million to extract themselves from said Super League
  3. Barcelona are now over 1.3 billion Euros Bill. And the rest are likely significantly higher too.
  4. So Salford didnt put 11 players on the pitch every week the same as every other club in the league ? lol. Absolute nonsense to suggest they didnt earn promotion in a fair manner. What rules did they break ? What did they do that wasnt available to all the other teams ? Every single other team had the capability to go out there and get rich investors - just so happened that Salford was local to the class of 92 and they decided to put their cash into it. Was nothing unfair about it or, if it was unfair, then you can look at ALL the major leagues in Europe and make the exact same statement. I guess Rangers won their 9 in a row unfairly too then ? Because that is what we did, we outspent all the other clubs at the time. You are completely incorrect about Neville too - if you think that Sky wouldnt be part of it then you havent been listening - Sky would undoubtedly have been a part of it. You do realise it was being funded by a bank, right ? And that in order to make it successful they need broadcasting partners, and Sky would undoubtedly be right there in the heart of those discussions. You think Gary Neville NEEDS the money ? Course he doesnt. He is unhappy because this Superleague is the very antithesis of what football actually stands for. He hasnt only just noticed that money can be a corrupting factor, thats patent nonsense - he literally recognised it himself when talking about the subject last night. Gary Neville is many things but a stupid person isnt one of them. Being that you live in Liverpool, you clearly have no love for Gary Neville, and that's fine - but don't let it completely cloud your objectivity.
  5. It may be an American proposal, but that wasnt what was being suggested - what was being suggested was "mainly American owners" which it clearly isnt. Clubs like Madrid may be in for a very rough ride then because with it literally dismantling within a couple of days of being announced the fans may very well still turn their backs on those clubs for even engaging in the proposal in the first place. The fans don't drive the income but a club like Madrid also relies on its global fanbase for its commercial TV rights in La Liga.
  6. Then maybe his club should have been operating within its means for all those years he wanted all the Galacticos. Run it like a proper business
  7. You do realise that 3 out of 6 isnt "mainly" ? - yep, it is the accountant in me mate
  8. That suggestion is a red herring because the Welsh clubs have been in the English system since before UEFA were even formed. UEFA now control the game in Europe - those Welsh teams were effectively grandfathered into the current position. As for Rangers playing in England and Celtic remaining in Scotland - absolutely ZERO chance of that happening. If we go, they will go with us, and vice versa
  9. Aye, his brother, Klippity Klopp
  10. Where is this notion coming from ? Chelsea, City, Spurs, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico, Inter, Juventus are all owned by non-Americans Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal & AC Milan are owned by US businessmen. Where is the "mainly American" nonsense coming from ?
  11. lol. Salford won promotion ON the pitch, where it is supposed to be won. They did it the traditional way. They also can still be relegated from such. This new proposal prevents 12 clubs from ever being removed from its league structure.
  12. He backtracked on this later.....
  13. Which in itself is absolutely ridiculous... So a 20 team league whereby Arsenal, Spurs and, say, Man Utd finish in the bottom 3... they can't be relegated - so does that mean the teams in 15th, 16th and 17th get relegated instead ? What an embarrassing proposal.
  14. That's your second attempt at spelling Scott Wright's name properly.....
  15. You had to google it I'm just testing
  16. Apparently a letter of intent has been signed by 6 EPL, 3 biggest Spanish and 3 biggest Italian clubs to form a breakaway league. Gary Neville going absolutely MENTAL about it, and rightly so ! Scandalous
  17. What position is Okaforrh (Spelling) going to be playing - I thought he was a CM.
  18. Including Euro's. Confirmed by Gerrard in presser
  19. Why should Rangers suffer more than Slavia for the actions of one of their players ? I see what you are saying, and yeah it is a different offence. But it just makes little sense to me that two offences that take place during the same game, see bans handed out which take effect in different tournaments and impact clubs and countries differently.
  20. That is utterly ridiculous. Typical stupidity from UEFA. One ban has an impact on the player's country, who weren't involved in the incident or match in question at all, but all of that means that he will be available sooner for his club, who WERE involved in sad match (and, worse, his club actually made ridiculous statements defending him)….. the other ban, for the victim of racist abuse, sees him eligible for his country (which I am glad for Kamara;s sake) but his club are the ones who suffer as he is ineligible for games which could be pivotal. UEFA couldn't organize the proverbial piss up in a brewery !
  21. This is a good point which I don't think has, as yet, been answered. If Kudela's ban includes international games then so too should Kamara's, considering both events took place in the same game.
  22. We already have Okaforrh (spelling)from Bournemouth coming in - not sure who he would be expected to replace though
  23. Think it was his agent who recently said that Tavernier would live in Glasgow no matter where his career finishes - which would suggest that he would be happy to stay at Rangers as long as Rangers want him. Still surprised he hasnt been looked at by England - he is having a far superior season to Trent Alexander-Arnold.
  24. Kennedy even suggested it could have been a career ender
