  1. Budinauckas has signed a new deal too
  2. I read the thread in full. I am starting to think you are flogging a dead horse.
  3. My experience of English is that this "balance" is a new found phenomenon.
  4. As much as 10k a week is a huge amount to us, at those levels for a footballer it isnt that much of a difference.
  5. You could be right mate - my memory isnt what it used to be either. Surely they will give Gio money now. However.... we also need to remember that giving him money doesnt necessarily mean transfer fees - Bassey deserves a better deal, Aribo and Kent only have a year left so should get better deals - these all cost money too. The majority of this squad should be retained IMHO - still the best team AND squad in the country - keep the nucleus together, strengthen the weakest parts (CB, RW, ST) and we could go far in Europe again.
  6. Not quite the same level.... but this is exactly what Jamie Barjonas did when he went to Kelty. Rangers were releasing him, he is far too good for the 4th tier of Scottish football - but he knew that KT played the game the right way, wanted Barjo to be pivotal in that, could prove himself in the 4th, then 3rd tier - and work his way to a bigger move. In Gilmour's case he would be coming to European finalists and with a point to prove - and will know that if he does that on the European stage then he will have eyes on him again.
  7. I would like to think our Europa run and Billy himself considering Rangers as "unfinished business" would convince him to come to us.
  8. It isnt that it was an unreasonable question - but you asked it multiple times - you made your point, continued to ask when you could have just left it. If you found it uninteresting, that is fine. Just move on. Why continue to go over old ground asking, effectively, the same question. What was intended to be a fairly positive thread about Bassey's performance in the Cup final, using a known Rangers hater's piece as a positive starting point, it has disintegrated into a pissing contest, again. The thread has been derailed when it didnt need to be. And with that, I am out too - because I am now contributing to the exact same thing I am criticising.
  9. The Board, I believe, updated that at the AGM and said we needed money to complete the season - that was after what Ross Wilson said last summer.
  10. We will have to agree to disagree.
  11. Oh come on mate. You know that what was going on was nothing more than a pissing contest in the first 5 pages of this thread. I would suggest to go back and read the thread and then convince me that any of it was worthwhile to the thread at all - it was just an irrelevant pile on - was it because it was Tom English ? BBC ? I don't know but I would challenge anyone that posted to Cammy in that first 5 pages to convince it wasnt a pile on. If you didnt find it interesting why not just skip it and ignore it, instead of spending the next 4 pages asking him what he found interesting about it - why does he have to prove that interest to you ? He found it interesting, you didnt. But instead of just leaving it at a disagreeing impasse you continued for the next 4 pages asking what he found interesting. You are better than this. Gersnet is better than this.
  12. Stewards Enquiry
  13. Apologies, you are right, it was Everton in the league where he got MOTM. Fabinho is "second string" for Liverpool ? If we lose Davis and Kamara we need replacements. Gilmour knows the Scottish game and, IMHO, would be a very good replacement for Davis, even on a loan - who else would go into that team that we have on a permanent contract ? Loans can work out. Gilmour would have something to prove and would be raring to do it. Hopefully we get to see what Ofo.... not going to try spelling the rest as I always get it wrong.... can do too.
  14. Not a stroke of work been done since I got back. Seville was awesome, result aside.
  15. We needed money to see out the season, think it was about 8 million (Bluedell pays more attention to the financials than I do in all honesty) - but we got 4.5 for Gerrard and 12 mill up front for Patterson (and potentially up to 16 mill, though obviously those add-ons wont have kicked in yet) - so that is 16.5 mill for those two. When you add in the EL run that HAS to be in the millions between prize money, ticket sales, merch sales. That is before we spend a penny on players. I would imagine Gio wants his own players but I also think it would be a bit foolish to rip this squad apart when it has just won the Scottish Cup, reached the Europa final and, lets be honest, we have seen the league lost for the most part due to very, very dubious refereeing decisions (yes, we have our own part to play in dropping points, but poor officiating can't be ignored). I would also contend that Gio has worked out how to get the best out of these players - we were struggling for form under Gerrard and for a few games under Gio too - but he has managed to get them firing on all cylinders recently, and that without a recognised striker..... I would like to think he would keep a nucleus of this squad because, IMHO, it is still the best squad in the country - and it is also very well suited to European football.
  16. They shouldn't have to with the Gerrard money, Patterson money, EL run money - plus if we sell one player from the squad for decent money. And the club must have made a FORTUNE off those new orange 3rd tops - saw them everywhere in Seville. The merch revenue from Seville must be significant.
  17. Small discussion with my kid yesterday : Craig : The team did us proud mate, lots to be positive about Kid : I reckon we can reach another European final in the next couple of years Craig : I hope it isnt for a while as I can't afford us to be in the final too often Kid : It could be our annual holiday Rangers, what have you created.... from the depths of wondering when we would ever win anything again.... to the heights of winning the league, winning the Scottish Cup, being in a European final.... all within 10 years. And that is why we are Rangers - because our standards are greater than our rivals. We don't celebrate failure. As Fernando Ricksen famously once said, "First is everything, Second is nothing". We are proud of this squad for what they achieved, but we won't celebrate that failure to win, we use it as motivation to go one further.
  18. Ha. Today is Monday though. That said, I did just spend two full days travelling back home from Seville so I wish it was Wednesday
  19. Share some as I am hardly ever on Instagram. He is another who really does get the club. You get the feeling he would be part of the squad for free just because
  20. Why ? We pocketed how much for the EL run ? 16 mill for Patterson, 4.5 mill for Gerrard - why would we need big sales ? I would imagine one sale should be sufficient - a Kamara or an Aribo sale would see a very decent fee coming in. We should be able to strengthen given those numbers
  21. He is 22 with enormous potential. I would be building my team around him for the next 3-4 years and then looking to sell. Yes, the selling model is our model but we could sell others with less impact on the squad, such as Kamara (as much as I like Kamara as a player)
  22. Nah, the real shame is that someone posts a positive article about a Rangers player from a known Rangers-hating outlet and instead of discussing it, they round on the person posting it. Rather disappointing - I honestly thought Gersnet was far better than this.
