  1. Just reading H&H posting about the passing of Trevor Francis. Very, very sad - what a wonderful player he was too. Sleep easy Trevor
  2. After watching him on Saturday I think the above is as far from accurate as we will see this season 🤣
  3. Mate, you said that the reason Roofe is still here is because we couldnt find a buyer....I then say that isnt necessarily the case as Roofe is well liked by Beale... and you then say nobody is buying that, and also change the narrative to whether or not he is dependable. There is every chance he is still here because Beale likes him as a player (which he has stated plenty of times) - but if you are in the know with Beale and what his way of thinking is then I will bow to your greater knowledge......
  4. I have a face for radio and a voice for the deaf If I can help out I will
  5. Not necessarily - Beale has always been a big admirer of Roofe
  6. You miss the part where I said that you have a base formation ?
  7. Has always been thus compo - really just because the big two control everything in Scotland - so they managed to get it such that they rotate one of the Premier league positions between the two of them
  8. Not sure why we are getting so hung up on formations in here. The conventional wisdom these days is less about formations and more about attacking spaces - was it not Spaletti that coined this approach when he said that he isnt overly fussed on formations (aside from a base) and that the game had progressed and is more about being in the spaces before your opponent ? I am positive I saw an interview with a new signing (not sure if it was one of ours, or one of the big ones in the EPL) where they also said that the manager was more about spaces than formations. Formations are great, but they should never be rigid - obviously you arent going to play a 0-6-4 but you have a base formation around which everything can then become fluid. Asides, for the most part Beale has operated in similar fashion to Gerrard in that the front 5 or 6 are very fluid (which makes it difficult to defend) but whether thats a 3-3, a 2-3-1, a 3-1-2 it almost doesnt matter
  9. We rotate this position with Celtic annually - so we had someone on this board two years ago...
  10. And that, right there, is why it very much depends on the Manager/coach. Depends on what they want out of players. Beale may prefer someone who can overlap and cross as opposed to predominantly defend. Which is also why, in part, we get on the "FFS Tav" bus - is Tav a good defender ? Not particularly. But if the manager wants his attacking output and is prepared to accept his defensive frailties then we, as fans, have little option but to accept it, obviously. Lol. Are you seriously singling out Barisic for Liverpool at home ? You could run through pretty much the whole team that night.....
  11. Souttar looks very decent - sure, had a clanger at the back end of last season, but with a run of games I think he would be an excellent defender for us.
  12. Apparently the real world of football clubs is the eminent domain of buster - he knows more about them you see well... well... just because he says so 🙄
  13. And.... that will be YOUR opinion. Right ? So rather than trying to belittle someone, maybe come at it slightly differently - your opinion is that he wasnt worth 10 mill at any point in time - my opinion is that he was, an opinion borne out by another member of the forum - or are you conveniently forgetting that he had a better than decent Euro 2020 for his country too ? "Real world of football clubs" - lol, as if YOU have operated in the real world of football clubs - quite the egotistical shite there from you.
  14. Rumours abound that Sterling has done his ACL. Hopefully just the usual social media nonsense
  15. At his best he was worth 8 figures - he was immense in that 55 season.
  16. See all this needing to get rid of Barisic stuff - are we just conveniently forgetting that he was one of our best players last season ? Are we conveniently forgetting that he is pretty much the only competition we have for the largely untested Yilmaz ?
  17. Any chance you could construct this part of your post properly ?
  18. You see what they tell you. For every Jota they have a Barkas, Ajeti, Duffy on high wages - don't be fooled that they always get it right because they don't.
