  1. A massive shame that he left. Definitely a faux pas from Gerrard & Co. We have never properly replaced him and he was the perfect foil for Tav.
  2. I just want to say that, much to @Billchagrin, Thank you der Berliner for always posting the transfer rumours thread, maintaining it and managing it, and your also posting current squad for us. Very much appreciated I will refrain from my thoughts on transfermarket though, lol
  3. I thought he was quality. That said, I would have loved to have got Xavi Simons - did more in 20 minutes than Veerman did in 2 games against us. That boy will go places for sure !
  4. If we bring another 2 in, we also need to see a couple going out, even if only on loan - our squad is bloated
  5. All I will say is that I am VERY glad that none of us from Gersnet are managing and running the business that is Rangers. The Tims would be absolutely spot on..... admin 1690 would definitely be right around the corner
  6. We could. Something we have to remember too is that the club have non-playing projects that need funded too - Edmiston House won't be cheap and it won't be cheap turning the Store into a bar. These capital projects all come from the same funds - but one thing to remember is that things like Edmiston House and a bar at the stadium SHOULD see increased revenue (and hopefully profit) which in future years CAN be invested into the playing squad. I think the Board need to be commended for this - instead of looking at just the playing squad they have realised we need to increase revenue streams and have committed to projects which will allow that to be given a chance
  7. It has been entirely negated and, more likely, has seen us actually increase our revenues due to the qualifiers and, importantly, has seen a plethora of new signings get game time to gel and get up to speed - all without any negative impact, save a shit refereeing performance at Easter Road. Strange though it is..... losing the league has, IMO, actually helped us rather than hindered.
  8. We've already spent money - what is it with our fans and seeing us get to the CL and then conveniently ignore that we have already spent 3 mill on Matondo, 3 mill on Davies and 4-5 mill on Ridvan ??? Are we just now ignoring the outlay already made on players this pre-season ?
  9. Hes away on loan to Lech Poznan
  10. Any replacement wont have time to be integrated before next week
  11. I think the set up is good for us. First game Ajax who have lost their two best players and wont have time to replace and integrate Antony's replacement Last tie at home - if needing a result the best place to have to do so is Ibrox
  12. Different type. He's an attack-minded CM, more a CAM.
  13. Any chance you can show me where I was against buying anyone to help us win points in the Champions League ? I'll wait....
  14. I would rather get Evander in anyway. We have enough CM's
  15. We have taken a step back as the asking price is too high
  16. Didnt appear to be the point to me. It appeared to be making an assumption that we would be able to get results and should therefore spend money in anticipation of said results. There is much more at stake by over-spending and chasing CL points, failing and be left with a bloated and over-paid squad. David Murray chased moonbeams too and look where it got us. The club shouldnt be using "lets spend money to chase some CL points" as the yardstick. It should be much simpler - how much guaranteed revenue to we have, and what can we afford from that. Any CL points revenue bonuses should be just that - bonuses.
  17. So I didnt say that I understood the frustrations of people who werent as fortunate as myself ? Deary me. Are you trying to be obstinate on purpose ?
  18. Ross Barkley has left Chelsea by mutual consent.....
  19. Apparently the 60 quid a ticket is for away fans only Bill - so the club could have charged whatever they liked....
  20. Not sure what the relevance of that post is in respect to that of mine which you quoted
  21. It is a balancing act for sure. And for the large part I am playing devils advocate. But the club custodians have to maximise revenue - whether they take a short term approach to that or look longer term and which one is better and generates more revenue isnt for me to decide. As I said, I am fortunate enough I can afford the tickets - but if we can separate fan from club for a second I don't think many of us would say the club are doing the wrong thing here, especially when you break it down to the basics that they are trying to maximise revenue. Unpalatable ? Sure. But understandable ? Also definitely, IMO
  22. They have a waiting list for ST's do they not ? I suspect they see the demand and are operating on the premise that those in waiting will pay if those pissed off give up their ST's. They will 100% know that they are pissing some fans off - but they also will be banking on us having fairly short term memories, which we largely do I am maybe wrong but I believe that Rangers of today is markedly different to the CL crowds of 30,000 - we went through such turmoil after 2012 that our loyalty is even greater than it was back then. For many, they recognise there was a period in 2012 that they may not get to see the club play ever again. Of course, I could be wrong, but I can't see crowds that low at CL games, at least not in the short to medium term. And when we were getting those crowds were we not fairly regular in the CL, whereas now it is seen as a surprise ? They know it is a calculated risk charging significantly more than Celtic - and the uptake of tickets will determine, at least short term, if it was a wise one - I suspect it will be sold out and they will say it was priced right. Longer term, who knows ?
  23. Rangers is a business. It really is that simple. And businesses will survive or die on supply and demand. The demand for tickets will be sufficiently high that they will sell out for each of the CL games. I have people already asking me if they can use my ST's for the game - so I am already reaching out to contacts to find additional tickets - I reckon that without any effort on my part I could get rid of 10 tickets for people for each game. You can also have business/supporters. We continually want to compete with Celtic and whilst finance isnt the be all and end all in that regard, the more you have the better chance you have of being able to compete. It is painful for fans, I get that. But at the same time if all tickets are sold at those prices then it is more money into the club and, at least these days, the club is run by people with the clubs best interests at heart - so we should see the money spent the right way - not necessarily on the right players as nobody gets that right all the time, but with the best intentions of moving the club forward. If I am being honest.... I am slightly surprised they didnt just go for 180 across the board - they would have sold out even at 180 across the board
