Match Thread [FT] Aberdeen 2 - 3 Rangers (Sakala 12; Arfield 90+5, 90+7)

Probably because he is a Celtic season ticket holder and his teams never look like theyre trying against them... but the complete opposite against us... -

He did it because we lack any options - would have had to go with Devine at RB and, presumably, Davies at LB. He "took one for the team" it looks like to me -

Goldson and Davies will be an excellent pairing in my opinion if we can get and keep them fit. I think Davies is excellent on the ball whilst Goldson is a good foil defensively for him. -

I presume this is one of those Match threads where you just avoid the first dozen pages and skip to the posts from this morning..... I am not sure I could conjure up a better way of beating that shower of shite, aside from maybe the 97th minute winner being a penalty after a dubious VAR reversal and a re-taken penalty for encroachment, lol -

Why people dont understand this is beyond me. Two guys that have been out for an extended period, at the same time, is bonkers IMHO. -
I would contend that the first 80 minutes were only dull because one team played very well and dominated the game. But, for sure, it only "kicked off" when France got the penalty

That as may be, using feet to connect with the ball plays a significantly lesser role than using the hands....

I am hoping this will change with Beale having us play more narrow, meaning the "wide" players are more central with more opportunity for attempts at goal. -

I am not sure why Lundstram can't be that guy under new management. That was exactly how he played in the European run. -

I think the bigger question is why, as is rumoured, the club only knew his contract was ready to expire in the summer because Michael Beale told them. Gross negligence if true. -
And that is why it is a dangerous precedent to set

di Maria would have been worthy of Man of the Match had he lasted a full 90. I also believe had he lasted a full 90 it wouldnt have went to extra time. France just couldnt get in it, and Mbappe had to help Kounde out which negated his attacking threat. I hear people banging on about the penalties and whether they should have been given or not.... and it is strange to me that the most blatant of all penalties isnt even spoken about.... at 0-0 from a corner, Giroud clearly has a 2 handed push in the back of the Argentinian... who then also gets pushed by Upamecano into Lloris.... I suspect the reason nothing was given was because Lloris was down for a while and they forgot about it, lol.

For me the biggest mistake Argentina made was removing di Maria too early. He had Kounde on strings the whole game. Man against a boy. The biggest mistake France made was letting di Maria run riot for an hour before really doing anything about it.

Mate, you lot call it "football" in a sport where they hardly ever use their feet to make contact with said ball.

Yahoos signing Haksabanovic from Ruben Kaza

Yeah but in this case Bill it is a little different I think as this could very well have fallen under international governmental sanctions. Obviously a different industry but we insure a bunch of assets in sanctioned countries and we simply arent allowed to send any money to those sanctioned countries. So if they have a bona fide insurance claim we still can't send them their claim payment. That said, Celtic could very well have received government permission to make payment as a one-off situation. I agree in that I doubt Celtic will have any issues with this - the issues will be between Rubin Kazan and the former club. -
I don't mind these things, but they are in danger of becoming tiresome to the support.

I dont have an issue with Gio saying that - he says it and obviously Tavernier would be targeted. -

not Arfield ? -
GOAT is an oft used descriptor but there are so many variables, one of which you rightly point out being a positional bias. Beckenbauer was way beyond his years, Bobby Moore ? Plenty of players to include in the mix. And that is before you consider the bowling greens todays players play on, along with the lightweight balls they use unlike players of yesteryear. Messi is my GOAT but that is purely subjective obviously and nobody can really claim there is an indisputable.

Messi. Absolutely unplayable at times. No superlatives left with which to describe him

King we knew about. I would guess Kent to be the other. -

Aye, because other clubs with far more money won't be looking at him. The time to "scout" these players is before a major tournament, not whilst they have had a great tournament taking their nation to the semi finals of it. -
Pretty sure they did
