  1. Not unnamed - they have been named as Sevilla - loan with obligation to buy
  2. You mean like the Americans copied pizza from its origination ??
  3. lol. The US enhances everything ? No disrespect mate, but thats a load of shite
  4. If it does as well as hoped then it may fund those other January announcements we desire in the future.... Not aimed at you Cammy - but we all want to see the playing squad strengthened - however, I am firmly of the belief that we need to maximise our revenue as far as possible to capital outlay like this, if it produces profits, allows us to edge ever closer to that independent sustainability we all crave. Short term pain for, hopefully, long term gain
  5. The world must have stopped turning with how often you and @Bill are agreeing on things these days...... The end of days indeed
  6. Is that how they did it ? Dammit, I waited a couple of hours and ended up with West Stand - nuts ! That said, I can't make it so have given my two tickets away, so they will hopefully just be happy to get to the final for free
  7. Yeah, I thought that might be what you were getting at mate. That being the case it is actually really sensible (IMO) to do it this way - the players can, in essence, get an extra 10k per week if they let their contract run out, save the club 2 mill in sell on fees, and sign a 4 yr deal. Makes sense to me. The obvious issue is that there are no guarantees they will sign on
  8. The site is horrible - needs a complete overhaul. That said, managed to secure my two tickets with relative ease - even though I can't attend myself....
  9. The sell on fees would be negligible anyway would they not ? We wouldnt get much for them in January anyway given Bosman status. Or are you saying that if we extend their contract then we are STILL bound by the original sell-on clause ?
  10. Read the part where I said "when used properly" - At no point did I say we used them properly. For used properly look at the likes of, oh I dont know.... Bayern Munich with Robben and Ribery or.... closer to home.... Arsenal this season with Saka and Martinelli. Both those teams are using them properly - and, know what, they only play(ed) with one striker too. Ours works though not as often as we like. In terms of when did we use them properly - how about last week at Rugby Park ? Sakala playing right wing, plays ball across goal for Morelos to score..... Kent gets down the left hand side, plays (poor) ball across box, ball from Morelos ends up back at Kent who cuts in on his favoured right foot and scores near post..... or how about Borna getting down the outside, standing the ball up to the middle where Morelos then scores with the header ? Or does that not count as working ?
  11. He has, for the most part, done this when he has been presented such opportunity - even in his cameo against St Johnstone at the weekend he had one sublime ball in behind Considine for Morelos to run onto.
  12. With that personnel I prefer a 4-2-3-1 Keeper Tavernier - Goldson - Davies - Borna Raskin - Lundstram/Jack Cantwell - Tillman - Kent Morelos Or even more of a Xmas tree formation with Tillman being slightly further ahead of Cantwell and Kent, just in behind Morelos One thing though.... we at least are starting to look like we have options, both in terms of formation and personnel
  13. He's not long back from injury 🤷‍♂️
  14. Thats excellent business even at 1 mill
  15. Disagree. When used properly the "inverted winger" stuff works very well indeed, better than just getting past a player and sending a ball in. With the inverted winger model you have a full back who gets into the space on the wing and then sends a cross in - but he also has the option of passing inside to the inverted winger who has played him the ball and then cut inside - plus, the inverted winger now also can be an additional body in the box for any cross or second ball.
  16. Not sure why you mention that SG and Gio used Borna and Tav as wingers because I never said they didnt.... except Gio actually didnt utilise Borna as a winger very much - Borna very rarely went beyond Kent because Kent was hugging the touchline, there was nowhere for Borna to overlap under Gio - as proven with the horseshoe football he had us playing. We do have strikers in the box now when Borna is delivering crosses - did Morelos not score against Killie with a headed goal from a cross ? Did Sakala not sky one at the back post against Killie from a deep cross ? As for Cantwell - from what I have seen of him I actually think he can play through the middle - recall seeing him play very well there for Norwich in the Prem. But think he can play across the attacking 3 in a 4-2-3-1 - can see Beale having him and Kent being interchangeable with a fluidity to make them difficult to mark.
  17. If we get those 3 it will have been a very decent window - to all intents and purposes it seems that Raskin is about to be announced to go with the Cantwell signing - and we could be doing with another RW option so Whittaker may be what is needed. Our spine has been the part that has been lacking in the last 18 months and I think both Raskin and Cantwell can help there. Positive shoots
  18. Yes, except nobody else plays that slot anymore either. Beale wants Barisic getting higher up the pitch to become the "winger" on that side - so nobody is playing LW, as it merely brings more bodies into the space he wants Barisic occupying
  19. Except for Rangers he will wear #13 and won't play on the LW.
  20. Not strictly true. The Raskin stand off is with the Board, not Deila. Deila wants to play him as he considers him a massive asset - the Board have dictated to Deila that he can't select him
  21. It is, IMHO, nothing to do with what you say above. If he was in their squad and played he couldnt sign for us in this window - he was, rather thank shirking responsibility, ensuring that he couldnt be forced into preventing him having any options in this window. Stuart McCall once refused to play for England because he wanted to play for Scotland... worked out well enough for Scotland IMHO....
  22. It is, however, the sign of the modern player. It is exactly how they pretty much all operate these days. Can't live in the past. We may dislike it, but it has become the norm.
