That's as strong a sentence as I can recall the club ever making publicly. I personally wish they'd made it right after the match instead of waiting for a charge from UEFA, but better late than never. Whether UEFA should be sanctioning clubs for banners is moot, it's their competition, they make the rules, so if we want to play in the Europa League we need to adhere to them. As for what the banner meant, only the people who created it know what they actually meant. Of course what someone means and how it's taken are not always the same thing. We've been over this countless times before on forums and I suspect we probably will again. That's the danger with language, it can be misunderstood, or indeed understood all too well depending on who is hearing it. The term 'defend Europe' when playing against a Turkish club from the Asian side of Istanbul could be taken all sorts of ways. Likewise while playing against a club from a predominantly muslim country a message like that could be read in various ways. As for 'keep foreign ideologies out' how anyone can read that as anything other than racist is beyond me. Whether someone was trying to make a bigger social or political point or was upset at the LGBT flag on the Govan stand and the planned Iftar only they know. But I suspect any gay supporters or Muslim ones might have felt the banner was aimed at them, whether that was meant or not. I imagine personal politics will come into play on this. Often objections to 'political' messages depend a lot on whether you're in agreement with the message or not. Either way it's such a shame that we find ourselves talking about stuff like this again.

Re offence: you know there is tv programme I absolutely love called "Rumpole of the Bailey." Because it is from the eighties before each episode they give a warning that you may be offended by discriminatory language and views which reflect the times. Every time I am baffled by what is 'offensive' in the show. You know what, I am more offended by modern tv adverts which show women waggling their backsides and talking about their 'pee.' And it's a product called 'Discreet'. Anything less discreet I have not seen.

And the more we're able to sell players for big money, the more attractive we become for other players as they'll see us as a pathway to a top 5/top 2 league team.

Raskin started for Belgium tonight and starred in a 3-0 win over Ukraine. Despite getting a dubious booking after 4 minutes, the wee man played well, keeping the ball moving, almost always finding his man, and made a few key interceptions. He got subbed to a standing ovation on the 90th minute and apparently the Belgians are raving about him.

Agreed that it's off topic, but as someone who regularly goes to games with either his wife or daughter then i believe it is a subject of some importance.

Enough is enough. Close the UB section down. Deny them access to bringing in banners and materials, tifo etc. The experiment hasnt worked, they are damaging our club consistently for little to no gain. The object thrown onto the pitch near the end of the game last week came straight from their section, as is the passageway blocking. While I am glad the club has put out a strong statement, the fact the UB was not named and shamed, nor any sanctions imposed or even threatened is very disappointing. While nobody has a clue what the banner even means, what is certain is that it is political in nature and therefore was always going to attract a UEFA sanction and so they are deliberately planning and choosing to hurt the club.

It's the board's fault" - Lots online blaming the board for not fighting the charge, even though they don't have a clue whether they did or didn't. Not that it would have mattered anyway. UEFA can do what they want. The board can't be blamed for UEFA's decisions. "It's not racist" - nobody has said that it was. "racist and/or discriminatory". 'Or' being the important word here. "Free speech is gone" - sigh. What a crap argument. You can make the argument but just not at at a UEFA match. They have their rules. If they had said "coherent speech is gone" then I'd have more sympathy. "Support the fans" - which fans are these? The ones who didn't want the banner or the ones that did? Just support the fans that you personally agree with? Another crap argument.

A tad tangential perhaps, but we have been 'inclusive' for a long time; I recall an Egyptian, name of Mohammed Latif, who played for us in the Edwardian period I think. Scott 7 and compo will tell us how good he was.

I've no idea what 'defend Europe' means either, but it's open to interpretation. Keep - retain, maintain, resist Woke - fuck knows what they mean, dog whistle term for something that wasn't around in the 1950s. Foreign - something not of this country, not of this culture, different from 'us'. This is the problematic word for me. If it had said 'keep woke ideologies out' it's political, the use of the word foreign changes the meaning for me. Ideology - a concept or system of ideas. Out - away, not near us. As I said only those who wrote it know what they meant, but its ambiguity is a problem, it can be read a number of ways and one of those ways is as racism.

My latest creation! It's interesting how few players we have at 'peak' age (red section) that play decent minutes. We do have a few younger players approaching peak age, though, which is good.

Club Statement | Rangers Football Club EVERYONE associated with Rangers Football Club will undoubtedly have enjoyed the last fortnight, with the men’s first-team producing some memorable results at home and abroad. Contributing enormously to these occasions has been the backing of the Rangers supporters, with the world once again taking note of the phenomenal passion the club’s fans bring to these big occasions. It is, however, deeply saddening and frankly embarrassing that the club is now set to face significant sanctions for the actions of a very small minority. Firstly, the club has been charged by UEFA after a handful of supporters displayed what UEFA describe as a “racist and/or discriminatory banner” at last Thursday’s Ibrox meeting with Fenerbahce. Rangers is a modern, progressive football club, and we are fiercely proud of our diverse playing squads, workforce and support. For the club to be charged with such a matter in 2025 is shameful, and the disdain for those responsible will be shared by the overwhelming majority of our supporters. This charge will bring consequences for the club, while the club is also working to identify those responsible and will ensure they also face consequences. For the avoidance of doubt, if you do not believe in 2025 that absolutely everyone is welcome to follow Rangers whether at Ibrox or away, then Rangers is not the club for you, and you should disassociate yourself with the club immediately. Further, the club has also been charged by UEFA for the throwing of objects at the home match with Fenerbahce. This is becoming a regular occurrence, not just at Rangers matches, but across stadia in Scotland. Indeed, our players and staff were targeted with missiles at Parkhead on Sunday. Focusing on Ibrox, however, there was a widely-reported incident in the January Old Firm game, whilst at the recent game with Motherwell, one of our own supporters was hit and injured by an object thrown towards the away end. And now, the club faces a sanction for the actions of an individual last Thursday night. This senseless and criminal behaviour has no place in sport, nor in society. Again, if you think such behaviour is acceptable, you are not welcome at Rangers matches. The club will also face a UEFA sanction for the blocking of passageways at the Fenerbahce match. Supporters are urged to follow the advice of stewards and police at all matches, and to take their own seat to avoid this issue occurring again. Lastly, and despite clear warnings to the contrary, pyrotechnics were used by two individuals following Sunday’s Old Firm victory at Parkhead. This runs the risk of an additional 800 of our supporters being unable to attend a match in the latter stages of the Premier Sports Cup at Hampden, in addition to the 500 that will already miss out as a result of the use of pyrotechnics. All of the above behaviours will have consequences for the club, and either directly or indirectly, the club’s supporters. Rangers as a club will stand alongside our supporters, and advocate for their rights and their ability to support the team in the most passionate ways possible within the confines of the law and the appropriate regulations. However, the club also calls on all reasonable supporters to wholeheartedly reject any behaviour which brings the name of Rangers into disrepute, and to assist the club by challenging any issues which will lead to the club being punished further by the relevant authorities.

It is long overdue that the club is taking action on the morons of the UB's who carry out these actions,although it will oviously dampen the atmosphere at games they should be disbanded by the club.

In a nutshell. Hotel built on site of main stand - with a classy Grade 1 facade. School built Broomloan end. Shopping centre in place of Sandy Jardine. Multi story car park at Copeland end. Games outsourced to Hampden. Asset stripping - it's what we venture capitalists do.

The club need to circle the wagons and protect Cerny. Although a bit stupid it was hardly going to harm anyone unlike the bottles that just missed Raskin and others.

Cant believe its international fortnight, how depressing. And there is games Ive got no idea about. Scotland are involved in some Nations League play offs along with other countries yet the World Cup qualifying also starts this week for certain groups - And some nations have Nations league Quarter finals! I had a look at the Scotland squad, the striker options are horrendous. Some Ipswich striker called George Hirst who played for England youths has been called up - I hadnt heard of him but read that his father was David Hirst who I recall from the early days in the Premier League for Sheff Wed. Diddo for Tommy Conway of Middlesborough. Che Adams is still getting called up, possibly the worst waste of space since Scott Booth or Darren Jackson upfront - at least the latter 2 were Scottish and scored the odd goal in the SPL. Kevin Nisbet completes the 4 Strikers so thats 1 out of 4 who are actually Scottish.

The best way to respond? Exactly what we did yesterday. Stand up to them on the pitch, beat them then rub their noses in it. Said when BF was appointed if all he done in his short spell was to instill passion and a contempt for them then it was a good appointment. Given what happened yesterday, he's on the right course.
