  3. Ive never thought Dessers was a bad player, the only thing about him was the amount of sitters he is capable of missing yet he will still find the net after missing a hat full which suggests he has a good strong character. But he hasnt missed as much recently and his finishing from when he does score is improving. Some of his finishes have been top drawer. The one at Old Trafford was excellent.

  4. Hottest man in Europe now according to ex turkey player! Is he right have we been playing Dessers in a totally different way or does this new style of play 4-5-1 or 3-4-2-1 Suit him? I suppose time will tell especially with the remaining tie next Thursday if Ferguson has utilised Dessers to his strengths rather than is weaknesses we all seem to moan and groan about. whatever the situation he needs a standing ovation from everyone inside Ibrox this Thursday coming not only for his work rate but his never give up attitude in what Rangers is all about. I know for a fact Dessers will be Ready on Thursday will us the fans and Ibrox be Ready to cheer him on also.

  5. ... I think more about the amount our team might have scored if we had adopted a two-striker line-up for 8 months. Dessers' goal-tally and missed chances are perfectly fine. Else, he would not play at Rangers, but in England, France or Spain ...

  6. RANGERS have a number of players out on loan across the Men’s, Women’s and Academy sides this season. Here’s our review of how each of those fared over their most recent outings. Ben Davies – Birmingham City Ben played the full 90 minutes as Birmingham secured a priceless 1-0 home victory over Wycombe Wanderers. It was a fifth successive clean sheet for the Blues with Ben playing every minute at the heart of the defence. Apps: 30 Kieran Dowell – Birmingham City Kieran, meanwhile, continued his run in the Birmingham side with another 90-minute display in the victory over Wycombe. The Englishman lined up on the right-hand side of the midfield for the Blues as they continue to look strong favourites for the EFL League One title. Apps: 10 Jose Cifuentes – Aris Thessaloniki Jose started and played the full 90 minutes as Aris played out a 1-1 draw with Volos NPS in league action. It was an eighth consecutive appearance for the Ecuadorian who has been a mainstay in the Aris side this term. Apps: 24 Goals: 1 Assists: 2 Cole McKinnon – Ayr United Cole laid on his first assist for the Honest Men in their 4-1 victory over Airdrieonians on Saturday afternoon. The midfielder teed up Curtis Main who added the fourth for Ayr in the triumph, with the 22-year-old introduced for the final 25 minutes. Apps: 8 Assists: 1 Robbie Fraser – Livingston Robbie was a second half substitute as Livingston fought back to salvage a point away to Partick Thistle on Friday evening. The full-back provided energy to the Lions’ second half display in what could prove a valuable result for David Martindale’s side come the end of the campaign. Apps: 9 Goals: 1 Assists: 1 Lewis Budinauckas – Partick Thistle Lewis, meanwhile, was on the opposite side as the goalkeeper helped Thistle to the draw at home to Livingston. It was a second successive appearance for the 22-year-old who was helpless to deny a thunderous Robbie Muirhead header in the second half. Apps: 2 Archie Stevens – Dunfermline Athletic Archie started and played a pivotal role as Dunfermline roared back from a goal down to overcome Greenock Morton on Saturday afternoon. Indeed, a double from Pars forward Chris Kane was the difference as Archie continues to impress the East End Park faithful with his pace and trickery. Apps: 6 Jay Hogarth – Dunfermline Athletic Jay, meanwhile, was on the bench for the Pars in the come-from-behind victory. The goalkeeper joined Dunfermline on an emergency loan deal and has played understudy to Tobi Oluwayemi. Adam Devine – Queen’s Park Adam netted his first goal for Queen’s Park in their 4-0 rout of Raith Rovers on Saturday afternoon. Making his third start for the club, the full-back produced a well-taken left-footed effort to double the Spiders’ advantage just minutes into the second half. Apps: 3 Goals: 1 Leon King – Queen’s Park Leon joined Queen’s Park on loan on Friday evening and made his first appearance in the victory in Kirkcaldy the following day. Indeed, the defender was introduced for the final quarter of an hour and helped the Spiders see out a comprehensive 4-0 victory. Apps: 1 Kieran Wright – Airdrieonians Kieran started between the posts as Airdrieonians tasted defeat away to Ayr United. The defeat brought the side’s five-game winning run to a halt and they will be keen to produce a positive result when Falkirk come to town this evening. Apps: 23 Josh Gentles – Alloa Athletic Josh played from start to finish for Alloa as they came from behind to defeat Cove Rangers at home on Saturday afternoon. Apps: 6 Goals: 2 Assists: 2 Blaine McClure – Kelty Hearts Blaine started and played the full 90 minutes as Kelty Hearts returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Queen of the South in Dumfries. Apps: 5 Kristian Webster – Dumbarton Kristian played 45 minutes for Dumbarton as they tasted defeat at home to Stenhousemuir. The Sons have endured a tough campaign in League One and are still searching for their first league victory since December. 9. We can relate to this. How can Rangers a team who do well in Europe be so poor against the likes of St Mirren, Motherwell and Queens Park.

  10. Former Turkish international Nihat, now a television pundit in Türkiye gave his thoughts on Rangers' performance in Istanbul last night: "I still can't believe what we watched. But let's be honest here - it should have been 5-1 and if Cyriel Dessers' shoulder wasn't as muscly, it would have been. Every top club in Turkey should be fighting to sign him. But there were plenty of others. Mohamed Diomande was brilliant - like the best of Zinedine Zidane - thank God they substituted him. And what a player Vaclav Cerny is. Honestly, the goals Rangers scored were like from a Playstation game - they were all so easy for them. How can Fenerbahce - a team who restricted Galatasaray to almost no chances at goal last week - give Rangers so many opportunities? Jose Mourinho went all-out attack in the second half and treated a team like Rangers like they were playing Rizespor. It was incredible because Fenerbahce were in such good form and then produced that. It was a crazy match and the tie should be over."

  11. The proposed new offside rule should apply, it's not a goal or out of play unless the whole ball is over the line so the same should apply to the attacker.

  12. Imagine they had cleared this last summer ... FIFA is currently discussing a series of potentially revolutionary rule changes that could fundamentally change football. One of the most significant changes concerns the offside rule: in future, a player will only be offside if his entire body crosses the line of the last defender. This adjustment could mark the end of the much-criticized millimeter-based offside decisions and provide more clarity. German source

  14. Funnily enough, Dessers was a Europe specialist at Feyenoord too. He's been better than Igamane lately though. Whatever anyone says about Dessers, he comes across as a model pro.

  17. Just been sent this and don't know if its true (one for the statos). If Barry Ferguson leads us to a victory next Thursday he'll have managed as many European Knockout wins in a week as Celtic have in 20 years.
