  1. Despite all the madness of the last week, takeovers, sackings, the 4 bears of the apocalypse, a truly awful start to a game on a horrific pitch..... The one thing I couldn't stop thinking about today, is just imagine how fuckin amazing it must have felt for BF to hear the fans belting out 'oh, Barry Barry!' again, after all those years. He must've thought he'd never hear that again, the hairs on his neck must've been like a bloody porcupines. As much as he's not exactly what I hoped for, I fuckin loved him as a player, and wish nothing but the best for him. 💙

  2. So Stephen Gerrard, one of the greatest midfield players / captains of his generation was wrong to make Tav captain and play him continually? So Gio, a European Cup winner, World Cup finalist and wonderful midfield player was wrong to make Tav captain and play him continually? So Barry Ferguson, best home-grown Rangers player for a generation (at least), decorated Captain is wrong to make Tav captain and play him? With all due respect, maybe Gio, SG and BF know what makes a Ranger and a Captain more than wee Boab the joiner? If we had more players with Tav's attitude, numbers, fitness etc in the last decade, maybe, just maybe "he" wouldn't have seen off 7 managers.

  3. I'm of to the game tomorow for many reasons Tav’s 500th apperence the return of Barry Ferguson but most importantly to see my m8 Scotty Methven who will be doing the pipes I believe before the game on the centre circle. I was with Scotty in Afghan legend of a bloke and not to bad on the pipes if the late Queen loved him in sure ibrox will love him 🔴⚪🔵

  5. Cammy has his next best friend, it seems. Just for clarity, I am not Ready1314 in disguise ...

  6. Tav has every right to be considered a Rangers legend. I cannot think of anyone - past or present - who has come anywhere near his goals and assist numbers. (Maybe Chris Lawler at Liverpool?) Remember he stuck with us through the dark days in the lower depths. Yes, he has his faults defensively and he's terrified of Maeda, but if he didn't have those flaws, he would be playing for Real Madrid.

  7. It's nice to hear that he sat down with Clinton after the game.

  8. When he moved to CB, the defen e immediately improved. He brought a sense of calmness as up until then, the defence was all over the place. I said on the MOTM thread, this was what enabled us to get back into the game. As others said, with Ridvan at RB, we went narrow (almost a 4-2-2-2) that allowed us to pass through the Killie press. I believe that's the 3rd or 4th time he's moved to CB and performed well. The only downside is we don't have a fit RB to take his position.

  10. It's not about bulk, it's about how you use you're body, position yourself, plant a foot, lean in. Many of the best defenders around aren't tanks.

  13. So as great players, they think Tav is a player and a leader, yet you don't, and we've to believe your assessment over theirs? This time with no respect, aye right, think I'll pass. Dud? https://footystats.org/players/england/james-tavernier Maybe the new custodians should stop their search for a new manager and give you a call..... 😁

  14. No, and he's far from a dud. Again, with all due respect I'll listen to SG, Gio, BF and the likes who sing Tav's praises rather than the opinion of wee Shug the plumber. Also, when did football become a one man game?

  15. I'm not at the game tomorrow due to family commitments but hoping for a continuation of Wednesday's 2nd half performance. Also congratulations to Tav on his 500th appearance. Haters are gonna hate, but that's a fantastic achievement.

  16. Nsiala has got to bulk up a bit , hes easily bullied. Hes never going to learn from Propper hes even worse.

  17. Nsiala was very good in his first few games, it would do him no harm to miss a few games, work on being a little more aggressive and assertive, which is something that can be taught. Propper needs someone steady beside him, which is fine at Nsiala's age, less so at proppers. Tavernier is a very good at communicator, I think CH is a great option for him in the latter stages of his career. King isn't going to make it IMHO.

  18. Two founder Football League members will reconvene. Making the quarter-finals will recall an era where both regularly went deep in the competition. Each club’s home is a tribute to such a mid-20th century heyday. For the Sir Tom Finney Stand at Deepdale, read the Jimmy McIlroy Stand at Turf Moor. Preston, last in the top division in 1961, were FA Cup runners-up in 1954 and 1964, and quarter‑finalists twice more in that period, while Burnley, Football League champions in 1960, reached the semis in 1961 and lost the 1962 final. This was a last hurrah of the provincial town club – Preston became a city only in 2002 – as the lifting of footballers’ maximum wage in 1961 began a drift towards Lancashire’s metropolitan areas of Liverpool and Manchester from the mill towns. The postwar era furthered a trend of club chairmen being local businessmen made good, the town’s tycoon given further civic status. Burnley’s chairman from 1955 was Bob Lord, notorious as one of the first men from a football boardroom to become a headline-grabber. Today’s 3pm Saturday TV blackout is an enduring Lord legacy.
