  2. Absolutely not. was right guy at right time, but not for now. Doubt he would work with such a restricted budget the same way Clement has. Sad to see it hasn't worked out for him but we need to move forward.

  3. If you thought Sunday's was bad you should have heard Friday's! Everyone on here knows the Gersnet podcast is not a reliable source of information and everyone on it only appears because Frankie pays them handsomely.

  4. Just listened to Sunday's podcast and feel the need to make a point. Since summer of 2023 Kyogo has scored 31 goals and has just been sold for £8.5 million Danilo has scored 12 goals at a cost of £6.5 million Dessers has scored 40 goals at a cost of £4.15 million and a lot of fans want him chased out of Ibrox at a loss. I am not a blind Dessers fan, but imagine where we would have been last 2 seasons without him? He is much more reliable than poor Danilo. In 6 seasons Morelos, who I loved, scored 18, 30, 29, 17, 18 and 12 goals. So Buff, at his peak only, has been better than Dessers but averaged under 21 goals a season. there is a very good chance that Dessers will pass that this season We cannot blame him for the price paid, he had no say in that and all footballers want to earn as much as they can. Yes, he misses a lot of chances. In the last 3 games he has only scored 5 when he should have had 6. The last person to miss this many chances was Ally McCoist, and he grew on us. I was never part of the Ally, Ally, gtf. I believe we should support our players.

  5. Which is tantamount to saying it isn't all Dessers' fault.

  6. We wanted a 20 goal a season striker, and we got one. Due to our continued lack of trophies, Dessers became the focal point for us "failing", but as you say, we'd be worse off without him. Kyogo doesn't win trophies on his own, same as Dessers (and Tav) don't lose trophies on their own. It's came to a point that no matter what Dessers does, he'll never be accepted by all fans. Being booed onto the pitch, being booed off the pitch and being booed during games certainly isn't going to help. Kris Boyd was never fully accepted and he played (mostly) in a successful Rangers team, same can be said for others (Kenny Miller). Like you, I think Dessers offers more than Danilo and is currently our top scorer and some fans want to sell him for peanuts. Utter madness.

  8. Won't be long before Walsh is doing a David Coote.

  9. Walsh will be up before the beaks for that. The beaks will tell Walsh that his intention was good but it should have been more discreetly put into effect and preferably much earlier in the match. Undisclosed penances.

  10. Snatched from FF ... 100% those criticising dessers missing the occasional sitter seem to go very quiet when he continually scores goals out of nothing. He's hardly picked up a knock since coming here and us numbers are very good cosnisdering Dessers - 53 goals/5200min - goal involvement every 98mins Igamane 16/1460mins - goal involvement every 81mins Danilo 20/1791mins - goal involvement every 90mins For added context Kyogo had 104 goals/assists i 10743mins - goal involvement every 103mins.

  12. Phillipe and Issame have shared and enormously enjoyed the odd Tagine. Alex Rae does not care for apricot with his lamb and knows there is no danger of such a combination at Motherwell.

  16. As per Compo - cant remember having a bad snack. Matchday burgers can sometimes be a little dry in the past but pies were always good. I remember going to West Ham for the first time and as I was only 10 I didnt expect their type of pie, I was always used to Scotch Pies - it was different but good. Singapore Stadium was excellent and had such a variety plus Tiger Beers were allowed in the stands.

  18. The person who took the time out to work all that out should be on next weeks Mastermind - fair play. From 9th downwards from those who will be in the knock out phase some of the more dangerous bigger teams are currently below us. However just win the game and see what happens elsewhere.

  21. Aston Villa are only the fourth side in Champions League history to score twice in the opening five minutes of a game, after Valencia v Lazio in April 2000, Standard Liège v Arsenal in September 2009, and Borussia Dortmund v Zenit St Petersburg in February 2014.

  23. Flipping it around, the Killie pies and the food fare at East End Park (Stevens Bakery) were always excellent. Food at Ibrox is very poor and has been for ages, the dodgy burger vans outside are better quality / value for money.

  24. Put Dessers in their team, he would have the trophies. Put Kyogo in ours and he wouldn't. SuperAlly would not have won with this team last few years. Neither has the UK's highest ever scoring defender

  25. I will agree with that, yes. Like I said, I am no Dessers fanboy, just don't like the abuse he tales when he is our most reliable source of goals in the last 10 years

  26. Morelos got his fair share of criticism for missing sitters, but the difference is his overall link-up play was beneficial to the team. Dessers' overall game contributes very little to the team.

  27. Yep, its about winning trophies. Simples. I look at some of the discontent over in the east end and to me the main reason it doesn't bubble over is because of their success. It wont be until we properly challenge for the title that the cracks will be more obvious.

  35. Not quite - it will be one of two with the draw being at 1pm on Friday. For example if we come 9th or 10th we play 23rd or 24th. 11th and 12th play 21st and 22nd etc. Lower seed away first on 13th Feb and home leg second on 20th Feb. 38. So what's happened to Walsh? Has Collum explained how Walsh managed to get the wrong decision TWICE and what actions will be taken against him? Have the SFA explained how and who released the statement on Sunday evening?

  40. Nope. Dessers is terrible. I'll happily post that after every goal he scores. Maybe it's time to dust off an old FF username or two.

  41. We should be doing everything to tie him down and allowing him a release clause. He has to remember he is coming back from a long term injury (which we nursed him back to fitness) and now he needs a run of first team football. If we sell him in the summer of 2026 or 27 for a really good price then so be it. But the last thing he wants is to end up in league one with Charlton or something like that.

  42. I note with interest, and some amusement, that The Man Who Invented Attacking Football is under pressure at New White Hart Lane, and that Okkerball no longer seems to be flavour of anybody's month, not even of those who take an homeopathic view, and aver that dilution of quality is the way forward. The gravy boat has not sunk yet, although the players, allegedly, are bitching and complaining behind his back. Frankly, he has never impressed me: up here he had -by far- the largest budget, scared, compliant, officials and his record in European competition was nothing to write home about (and that for a mob which tells us that it is out to show the world what it can do). To be scrupulously fair, his captain advised us, displaying not even the merest hint of a speck of a scintilla of irony, that rasellik is refereed to a different standard by continental officials, by way of explanation of recurring failure. For the avoidance of doubt, this standard, of course, means the application of the Laws of the Game, objectively, without, ahem, fear or favour. I concede that I am inclined, naturally, to take a disapproving view of any anybody who has any involvement with that outfit, viewing them as complicit in decades of child abuse, its denial, and its concealment. Laying my distaste aside, however, as far as football goes, I have a sneaking suspicion that he is being found out.
