  1. Most would have bit your hand off for a P/O spot after the draw was made.

  2. With a (potenital) extra home game gate receipts, I would argue from a money perspective, maybe its not as important to go straight through via the top 8 and its not like we have to keep players fit for a close title race..... I would obviously prefer to be in the top 8, but its not all doom and gloom if we aren't

  3. The main thing that’s escaped a lot of fans is the result we got beat when we should have got a draw bad defensive work letting us down again

  5. Rangers are willing to sell Ridvan Yilmaz in the current transfer window with Besiktas holding a meeting over his potential signing, according to Mustafa Korkusuz. The TRT Spor journalist, based in Turkiye, revealed (24 January) that discussions have been held over a potential switch for the left-back who could join up with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side before the transfer deadline. Deals regarding players moving to Turkish clubs can be completed up until 11 February, giving all parties longer to make the switch happen, potentially recouping a tidy sum at Ibrox. Yilmaz started in an advanced role on the left-hand side for Philippe Clement’s Gers at Manchester United on Thursday night in the Europa League (23 January). “Beşiktaş will definitely make the left-back transfer. Rıdvan Yılmaz is on Beşiktaş’s agenda,” Korkusuz said, as quoted on X (24 January) by 1903 Digitale. LINK Well, he's an asset, if we want to rely solely on Jefte and ... ahem ... Jefte.

  6. Id still take Shankland. Probably get him for about £10k a week tops, helps with Euro quota etc. He has had a shocker of a season, but Hearts have been in meltdown.

  12. In short, the higher you are, the more money you get. Also, teams in top 8 get additional €600k. Teams 9-16 get additional €300k. Teams in playoffs get €300k. Details from UEFA's site: https://editorial.uefa.com/resources/028b-1a7880138a24-7a993e2e33d1-1000/20240322_circular_2024_13_en.pdf Performance-related amounts (€212m) • League phase performance bonuses will be paid for each match: €450k per win and €150k per draw. Undistributed amounts (€150k per draw) will be allocated proportionally to the league phase ranking referred to in the next bullet point. • The mechanism of the league ranking bonuses is explained under 1.1.2.2. (each team will be paid an amount based on their final ranking in the league phase. The total amount available for the league ranking bonus is divided into 666 equal shares (1+2+3+…+35+36)). The initial value of each share will be €75k. The lowest-ranked team will receive one share (€75k), and the highest-ranked team will receive 36 shares. Any savings from draws in the league phase (see above bullet point) will proportionally increase the initial value of the shares distributed to each position. • Clubs ranked 1 to 8 in the league ranking will receive an additional €600k and clubs ranked 9 to 16 will receive an additional €300k. • Clubs that qualify for the knockout stage can expect to receive the following amounts: − qualification for the knockout round play-offs: €300k per club − qualification for the round of 16: €1.75m per club − qualification for the quarter-finals: €2.5m per club − qualification for the semi-finals: €4.2m per club − qualification for the final: €7m per club • The UEL winners can expect to receive an additional €6m.

  16. You will get more cash for being in the next round. I'm quite unorthodox but I have an extreme preference for U.E.F.A. to pay for our next dud rather than us.

  17. I'd rather hope we look at some harder guys than EPL/Championship fair-weather players. Right now, we need people able to hold their own against these "Scottish" hammer-throwers and fridge-jugglers. People not necessarily able to dance past five defenders and fail at the sixth, as well as having some muscle failure after 3 months in Scotland. In that respect, someone like Shankland wouldn't be a bad choice, since he knows the score, the league, and the demands. Like Boyd, he won't be the answer for each game ... then again, our manager apparently thinks that much change in terms of players and system are not necessary anyway. Last season, Shankland, much like Igamane does now, shoots from any angle possible, which 8 out of 10 others don't. Hence, both look rather prolific. He might not be as lethal this season, but a Shankland up front would always draw defenders to him and thus opening spaces for others to exploit. IF we manage to fill the slots of these "others" with people using these spaces and likewise are able to score. TBH, the last chap who did this admirably was Jason Holt, before he was placed further back in a more holding role. Plain madness back then, but there you go. Now, I am neither saying that Holt was a stand-out player, but he did well there. Nor that Shankland is the answer. Given our lack of strikers, someone like him for virtually nothing (and being a Scot) should be a given. An injury to Igamane and we'd be down to Dessers (if he's still there), Danilo, and Lovelace? With the latter two having regular appointments with the nurse (does she look any good, BTW?) too. Maybe there's a role for Tavernier after all ... if we get another fit (!) right-back. NB: I think we might deal in Cameron for the summer and snap him up late in the window, as Dundee sure wants some cash. Maybe PC has come to his senses about Rice and Curtis, and perhaps the odd other too, so we will use the rest of the season to settle a few younger players in the first team before the B team gets scrapped.

  19. Trusty was on £26k p.w. at Sheff Utd and lost his place to Scales for a while. Has he taken a wage cut? Thats about £10k p.w. more than the japanese internationals are on if the figures I read are true

  20. Not too disappointed with last nights performance, think Man U were the better side, but still.. we could've nicked it there at the end. Crazy game, going from the ridiculous Butland og, to the sublime Dessers finish .
