I went for Tav. He was roasted twice early on by their wide player who had an excellent match (and I learn is subject to a £50 million bid from Chelsea currently) but grew into the game as the first half went on. His cross for Ridvan's chance was vintage Tav. But my vote is based on his second half performance. Playing centre half he barely put a foot wrong despite having a midfield in front of him made up of children. His searching ball for Desser's goal was literally inch perfect. It was a captain's performance. He's been criticised this season, rightly at times, but he did everything he could last night. Propper had an excellent game as well.8 points

I really should know better. I was attempting to gauge the reaction to a Rangers defeat by sampling some online contributions last night and I'm staggered that anyone can come away from the game feeling angry. Frustrated...yes. Disappointed...yes. We are nowhere near being able to lose 9/10 first team players and rock up to Man Utd and expect to win. I get that we can be upset with some individual errors but the manager played the team 99% of fans would have picked. And please spare me the Dessers should have started in a front 2 hindsight nonsense. No-one was calling for that prior to kick off.6 points

Gutted to get nothing out of that game. Credit to the players for staying in the game for so long.5 points

Talk about Dessers being an enigma - I think the biggest enigmas are Yilmaz and Bajrami. I wouldn't be sorry to either of them leave.4 points

I think Robin Propper went under the radar last night, but was definitely worthy of a shout3 points

That hurt at the end, its bad enough when teams like that score in injury time against anyone but after that superb Dessers finish I thought we'd got the draw I thought we would get. You always have to feel for keepers, they dont get minor errors, Butlands punch was just a split second mis timed. Was there about 800M difference between those teams? Considering we was also a depleted team! The minimum was to make a knock out tie and we have that.3 points

Have we really replaced McGregor as GK since he retired? McLauchlin and McCrorie weren’t good enough so went out and got Butland on a hefty contract but he’s now beginning make too many mistakes in my view. Kelly looked solid enough recently but I tend to think he’s a bit small for a GK.3 points

I’m led to believe one or two over there are a bit upset over what some of the new arrivals got in the summer…..2 points

Well, IMHO, Dessers is just a striker who hits the goal rather frequently, but also misses a few good opportunities. No different to any striker we had before. What makes people angry is that we do not score enough goals to put games to bed ... and our lone striker bears the most of that. No matter who he is and that he is not the actual problem. Yet, truth be told, every team will envy us for a 20-goal striker we have in Dessers. He still is but an international striker of Nigeria, not Germany, England, Spain or the like. That is where we are. Danilo is as injury prone as Sterling, albeit both looking like units you won't square up with in the street. Ridvan has a bad streak right now, he's much better on the left too, as we saw early on last night (though highlights might be deceiving). What would be a concern is that neither the B-team seems to have an adequate right-back to fill the gap if Tav is injured, and that the first team doesn't have a back-up to Tav either (even though he wouldn't play much given the penalty-king's fortitude). That said, Jefte, still but 22, set a few feet wrong in recent weeks as well. Of course, nothing of that should be put under the microscope, as many of the current generation of supporters likes to do. Bajrami, well, these players grow hot and cold, maybe he's more of a fair-weather player. But that's for the manager to see and react to. On hindsight, what sort of madness drove our high-ups to the decision to keep Hagi out of the team and EL squad?! Granted, Danilo was injured and UEFA created a right good mess with this super-large and long "Group Phase", with no option to put players in later on. But for the sake of some bonus money they essentially wrecked the season and denied us our most creative player for Europe. NB: I'm not talking the players above up or, indeed, down. It's just where we are right now in terms of quality. "Wanting more" will not change the reality we are in.2 points

Aye, I think they're getting a better*, younger player as a straight swap, so not a bad deal. *If he manages to get back to player he was. Anyway, that's enough talk of the pot lickers.2 points

Definitely need to see the pre-game presser and the casualty list before predicting this one2 points

And yet we only lost to an injury time goal. Just accept that we are near even if it doesn't make much sense.2 points

I get that but money aside, they are weaker without him IMO.2 points

Butland is a poor keeper imo. Raskin done well, as did Tav, Propper and Big Leon before he went of. Dessers proving the nay sayers wrong again, should have started. Thought we were very unlucky not to get a pen for Maguire on Dessers. I'm starting to really worry about Bajrami now. I thought he would have started to show something but he is starting to look very average and scared of the fifty fifties. I have no right to be dissapointed about the result, but I am.2 points

Might need to divert some money to the stadium looks like the old stand has sustained some damage during the storm1 point

Certainly didn't seem out of place. I suspect this might happen for him naturally as he enters the twilight of his career. Or potentially into a midfield role1 point

Dick used to play with a jockeys cap on his head supposed to be a bit of a Rangers man he'd drop the odd ball now and again got a move to England before he got jailed in the bribes scandal1 point

German Highlights Going by the video alone, Butland made some fine stops and was rather unlucky with that own-goal. That said, I see him as a sellable asset, since Kelly is a good keeper indeed.1 point

Anyone who remembers the old Celtic keeper Dick Beattie will have seen similarities in Butland,s punch last night1 point

I feared the worst, but Thursday night games have their own dynamic. Despite the superior quality and chances, we almost got a 1-1 draw. No matter the absentees and lack of depth in the squad. With the former, however, you have to ask yourself (and with little due respect) what has been brought in over the last few years. Injuries on the field are one thing, but it is amazing how people with the physique of Sterling or Danilo can last two or three games and then some kind of muscle problem arises. Cortes and Matondo are just such examples too. It is also annoying that we have to throw Curtis and Rice into such games practically unprepared, because we sent the same players out on the field week after week and month after month, whether they produce or not. Or replace them with "veterans" on a 1-1 basis. While it was a luxury in Walter's ways, now, where results have become truly essential, we still get the same dross every week.1 point

He has 2 years left on his deal and is 30, its the ideal time to sell him, something we need to strart doing.1 point

That's not accepting second - it is just reality as Celtic will not drop enough points for us to win even if we win every game.1 point

I think Kelly's over all game is better than Butland's. For such a big guy Butland does not command his area at all and his positioning and distrabution are poor.1 point

Disappointing in the end but no disgrace. A good performance against a team costing hundreds of millions. I think PC might need to look at the GK position sooner rather than later.1 point

Gave it a good go. Playing half the game with Rice and Curtis and a drunk guy in goals. Was never going to be easy. Gutted for Dessers that goal was fantastic and worth winning us the point.1 point

So close, yet so far. Credible performance with a depleted squad, but individual errors cost us once again.1 point
