My understanding was that once Hagi reached a certain number of games he was entitled to a wage increase. I believe he was on £21k p.w. but he waived the increase and was allowed to join the first team squad again. What I would say about Hagi is that he had more of an entitlement to his wages than some of the others on higher wages. At least he was in the first team starting XI & playing well. I genuinely hope he doesn’t leave. Replacing him with similar quality won’t come cheap. Sometimes you need to bite the bullet so to speak7 points

Good to see a few more goals as the Broch tired and it's a solid, if unspectacular win for Rangers. Some decent individual contributions with Nsiala, Jefte and Dessers all showing up well. Enjoyed the efforts of all the fringe players who worked hard to show what they can do. A wee separate word for Finlay Curtis who was very good when he came on and took the kind of attacking responsibility on the ball that Bajrami needs to do a lot more of. Bailey Rice looked sharp as well for the final 30mins. Credit to Fraserburgh for working very hard.6 points

Word is we have an option of another year at which point player gets a pay rise hence the summer stalemate.4 points

I'm not saying the guy is a top Rangers striker, but he is far from the worst we have had at the club. What I meant by my post was he draws marmite reaction for the support. He scored three goals and got an assist today and some only remember the missed chances.3 points

If Dessers takes his easy chances we win by 7 or more and I have no complaint. But into injury time before he robs me of a maximum is just vintage Dessers!3 points

Think the Broch have defended quite well but our lack of imagination up against low blocks again evident. I think we've moved the ball OK at times but we're just lacking that extra bit of quality in and around their box; be it our crossing, passing or shooting.3 points

All of our players have a price, but I cannot see Big Phil allowing a firesale at the club when he is trying to bring a togetherness to the squad. He will want to have a realistic go at the title next season.3 points

Of the 3 strikers we have at our disposal, he's the one who'll get the most goals and be fit to feature in games. The clamour to get rid of him is weird, we'd rather keep Danilo who isn't as prolific or available as Dessers. If Danilo remains injured, we aren't moving Dessers on as we can't finish the season with 1 fit striker after starting the season with 1 fit striker. The fee we paid for Dessers and his wages (neither his fault) put fans off him as much as the made up nonsense that he's "gash". He'll score goals (our top scorer last season and now this season thus far) and divide fans until the day he leaves.2 points

Former Aberdeen and Dunfermline Athletic manager Jimmy Calderwood has died aged 69. Calderwood was diagnosed with early onset dementia in 2017, three years after his final managerial post with Dutch side De Graafschap. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c15zzee1dkno2 points

But how many times does Dessers get into great shooting chances but not get a shot away, at least twice today for example, whereas Hamza tries to shoot far more often. Stats can be produced to favour anything just about, but almost all Rangers fans that watch him play can see that Dessers is absolutely gash.2 points

Totally agree. I want to build a squad with quality players not have an unending series of guest players.2 points

I’d be very surprised if Hagi can get a better contract than that anywhere else on a bosman. He has been good for us recently and I like him as a player but 20k+ for a guy who hardly got regular football before he came here and his flop season at Alaves makes it seem unlikely a team will pay out on him. I suppose it’s another example of how we just throw massive wages at players who haven’t done anything to deserve it.2 points

There are fans saying that in call in shows plus pundits are questioning him. He is too stubborn wanted to prove himself right by not buying a striker. If Ancelotti walked into their squad and a striker I think they win the league.2 points

Sure there are moments of madness when you scream at the TV when he missed the Sitter in which Ross was offside, As Scott Arfield said 25,000 fans love him and 25,000 fans don’t. I love him sparingly when he is calm and composed but also the fact if you actually look at the technical aspect of some of his goals he is looking for the perfect goal in which strikers like Dessers will f%&k up 80 % of great chances but those other times he’s there with the ball in the back of the net. He may not be a clinical first touch scorer but he is indeed a scorer who scored a lot of goals for us last season and continues to do so this season , I honestly think it’s a pity PC doesn’t have Igamane or Danilo playing in rotation with Dessers rather than the one up. Dessers work rate is top notch no denying he works his socks off looking for lost causes and sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesn’t, I think Tav giving Dessers the Captaincy was a statement to just how hard he works for us , Also the way our finances are going and the way young Igamane is playing we need to indeed accept Dessers is better than Danilo in goal terms and who also isn’t as injury prone. So even though it is indeed Marmite I strongly urge we back him as the last thing we need is a striker who works his socks off to lose his confidence in fans not supporting him.1 point

He's clearly not gash, he's a modern day Bo Andersen, our Darwin Nunez if you like, a loveable, hard working talented player, everyone wants him to do well, really wants it, but.... He's just not what we need.1 point

Im channel hopping between the snooker and the footy matches, the snooker is actually the most entertaining. This has to be Ange last game, the wolves will be out now, Everton will be 4 points behind them after this game. Forest thumping Southampton, they go level with Arsenal on 44 pts. Remarkable.1 point

We'll have a problem filling the bench next season then IF Igamane and Raskin joined the above list especially with our injury record. Its one thing reducing the wage bill but if we cant afford signing fees we are relying on loans and freebies. Those two mentioned are very key to staying next season.1 point

Looking like Summer is going to be another big turnover of players... Trying to sell Dessers Dowell & Matondo told they can leave Hagi contract up Lawrence contract up Balogun contract up Cerny loan over Tav's time up? Thats a fair whack off the wage bill, plus, IF Igamane continues the way he's going, he'll be off, Raskin too! At least they should fund a decent few replacements though At least we get to listen to the "squad rebuild" spiel until November/December 20251 point
