  1. I enjoyed last night's game, thought we pretty much controlled it from start to finish. I also think we need to remember we again played with a makeshift defence, who I thought did well. The much maligned Propper once again had a solid match, so much so that his injury is now a concern when a few weeks ago some might have thought it a relief. Nsiala looked very composed with the ball at his feet, he's clearly a ball playing defender. Time will tell if he's up to the more rigorous aspects of defending but he's certainly not a dud as had been suggested. Ridvan has done his best at right back, but the lack of a right footed player there was evident at times last night. Having to come inside every time and his inability to play a pass down the line was a real weakness. That said he's out of position and has done a job for us, so criticism of him is unfair. Raskin, Igamane and Cerny are our most important players currently. Cerny always provides an out ball, Raskin is bossing midfield, short passes, winning 50/50s and breaking up opposition attacks sounds is made to look simple, when it's not. Cerny's movement is underrated, watch him when we're out of possession and then again when we win it, he's always available, he finds space and stretches their defence creating space for others. His final ball isn't always right, but he's become very dangerous player. Big Hamza is fun to watch. I don't think i've seen a Rangers player strike a ball as sweetly and has powerfully since Albertz, he had a shot in the first half that is still stinging the Aberdeen keeper's hands this morning. I also think he's got an interesting temperament. You have to assume by now he's getting noised up by defenders, that prick Shinnie will certainly have tried. I've yet to see him look even mildly annoyed far less angry. There are comparisons to made with Morelos in terms of his strength, presence and growing affection from our support, but he looks to have a very different mindset. Time will tell if that's a good thing or not, I think it is but I might be wrong. Our lack of squad depth is still a problem, a glance at our bench last night really underlined that. For all Rangers deserve criticism for some of our away performances they deserve praise for our home ones too. Six goals scored in two matches at home, one conceded, with a defence that probably gave many of us nightmares when we first saw it picked. Credit where credit is due.

  2. Dessers' goal was great entertainment. I knew he would score when he came on. Despite that nothing beats watching him getting into a great position and trying everything he knows to miscontrol the ball before an inexplicable good finish.

  3. PS hat tip to the Union Bears, who not only sang for the entire 90 minutes while the rest of our support was quite subdued but the booing of the subway loyal was very funny. For me, if you want to protest, that's how to to do it.

  4. Elsewhere you deny having predicted a third place finish behind Aberdeen so we must take you at your word although my recollection had been remarkably similar to @buster.’s. You must disabuse yourself of the notion that people celebrate coming second. There were times when third place did look a possibility. Grudging relief is not celebration

  5. @CammyF and @buster. - let's stop bickering chaps. You're both passionate supporters, that's what matters.

  6. Not like you to point out the progression from then till now 🤭 Next thing you will be typing "Big Phil's red, white & blue army" 🤣

  7. Young Nsiala has had a great couple of games now. I would find it hard to drop him when the the more experienced players are fit. More evidence of progression in the team.

  8. Jefte was solid all match, defensively and going forward. One of those games where you could make a case for half a dozen but I voted for Nsiala. He played the whole match, did pretty well overall, showed some real composure and delivered the best cross of the match.

  9. I don't like to toot my own horn but I did mention Aberdeen's xG being atrocious a few months back and that they were therefore due a bad run...

  10. Rangers were very good tonight and could easily have scored half a dozen. Enjoyed the game. C'mon The Gers

  11. As always the Rangers fans never seem to disappoint my daughter with the comical comments she over hears and always feels the need to tell me as they are happening haha, we were getting some light refreshments (2x stake pies and drinks ) “ m8 I don’t want lettuce I’m not a f#%king Rabbit” in all honesty I’ve found it hard to order from certain places within and having to point at the pictures or items I want to buy. She can’t wait to go to her next game 🔴⚪️🔵

  12. I asked him twice last night to take it to PM (even sent him a PM asking to keep it off thr thread), he refused, so there isn't much more I can do. He did have me on ignore, then took me off it for some reason.

  14. Really pleased with that performance and result last night. We did lose our way once or twice during the match but generally I thought we played very well: patient on the ball but incisive when we got the chance and well organised defensively. Injuries continue to frustrate!

  15. Nsiala could find Lord Lucan with a pass.

  16. Yes I agree with that one 110%, sure for a moment when he did that little flick past the defender I thought here we go again he has fluffed it. I always try and give him credit regardless of the number of times he may spurn good chances as his work rate is exceptional in which no one can dispute that fact.

  18. I was shocked by the number of fouls he didn’t give us especially with the lunging tackle on Hagi and few other shockers , I had a birds I view in Row J MRS looking down.

  19. I hope it’s a right good attendance on Sunday as I’d like to see Fraserburgh walking away with a nice check in their pockets always good to help others if possible.

  20. Hagi had a great first half. Nsiala had some wonderful passes, particularly in the first half. I felt that they were the 2 standouts. Going for Nsiala due to his assist that killed the game.

  21. Almost all of the dislike for the Union Bears is a load of rubbish. The real reason to dislike them is that the whole ultra culture has no real connection to Rangers supporters past. It is an alien import learned from the idiot box, and the internet, rather than from a father. This is partly why they often miss the mark with the things that they do.

  23. Interesting stat from last night. We played Aberdeen on 15th January 2023 and won 1-0 (Tav scored). Tav was the only remaining player from the squad that evening 2 years ago that was in last night's squad.

  28. I agree Compo. Not so much the presenting part, I dont mind that in the main, but woman commentating on games irritates me big time. Also this player of the match (even got announced like that at Ibrox) its a man's game we are watching so its a MAN of the match not fecking player

  29. I might be alone but I thought Nsiala was solid. His distribution in the main was good too

  30. Aberdeen are garbage. Might struggle to stay in the top 6. Nsiala’s performance goes to show, with no real title race on the cards giving the young boys a chance does no harm.

  32. Would they say, ' Woman of the match' at the women's game? They want equality but then they call actresses 'actors' even when I know damn well it's a woman! (conductor. conductress; waiter, waitress...)

  33. I fear we’re taking to much Hope out of a victory against a very poor Aberdeen side who will shortly be looking for a new manager but it’s nice to win .

  34. This, its very important any squad filler or backups are cheap youngsters or cheap experience. FWIW I would sell both Danilo and Dessers if I could. There is more value out there.

  35. We're still closer to Aberdeen and DUFC than we are to Celtic and some believe this is some sort of achievement. The poster in question doesn't understand the difference between what was "current" then and what is "current" now. On current form we'll comfortably be 2nd but remain a distance behind Celtic. That may change as the season goes on depending on various factors (our form, Celtics form, DUFC form and Abderdeen's form). Our away form his killed us this season, if it had been as consistent as our home form, we'd be in a battle for the league, not trying to consolidate 2nd place.

  37. Butland Soutter Propper Sterling Kasanwirjo Danilo Cortes Lawrence Some list mounting up, especially in defence. Thankfully Tav and Balogun are back playing, especially when you consider Ridvan has played about 5 games in a row so must be due a couple of months out soon.

  38. That's the thing. You didn't need to be Nostradamus to see it coming (Aberdeen hitting a rough spell and Rangers overtaking them). Some who were caught up in the hysterical reaction, not so much. You could understand concern for the situation but concerns about not even finishing third 😂😂😂

  39. So Clancy's imaginary 7mins injury time in a vain hope of Aberdeen getting an equaliser certainly backfired.

  42. 9 points behind Aberdeen after last game against them. We are now 12 points ahead of them and 10 points ahead of 3rd laced Dundee United. Done well in Europe post Dinamo Kiev defeat. Reached League Cup Final. Unlucky to lose. Discovered Igamane and perhaps a young central defender. Cracked crest disaster Time to protest
