We all are still hurting after Sunday , we will get the usual apology and told to move on , the Refs will 'get better training and wont make these mistakes again ', we have heard all this time after time , whether its poor sending's off , disallowed goals etc etc . However once you start analyzing things , I honestly believe its the mindset of the Refs/Var officials to take what they see as the safe option for them and go against us/for Celtic . If you look at some of the big decisions in the last few Old firm games , Dessers/Roofes disallowed goal , Dessers goal that is brought back 70 yards for a free kick to them , Johnstons hand ball and the subsequent 'offside 'reason that was found 30 minutes later , the disallowed goal in the Scottish cup final for a foul on the keeper , even though it was the celtic player that pushed the Rangers player into Hart , and then the 3 big decisions on Sunday , none of which Var corrected . Now I understand some of these decisions are subjective and open to interpretation either way , bar Sundays penalty, however the fact every decision going against us defies logic and bookies odds , so is it simply the fact that intimidation , threats and continual assault on refs both from their place monkeys in the press and at boardroom level is paying off . Our new CEO really has a horrendous job , after years of softly softly to turn things around .

Back in the eighties ,such was the influence of Aberdeen captain Willie Miller, he was once described at the time as one of 'Scotlands best referees'. Fast forward forty years, and we now have Callum Macgregor ,who is right up there with Miller.

The one thing that will destroy your credibility in such a role as he is in, is going off like a jack knifed milk float before you even have a full grasp of said role. Give him a chance buster.

Being realistic though, he's likely to have had a number of interactions with senior people and board members as part of the interview process as well as post-announcement. He likely already has a "warts-and-all" view of the club, but his job is to lead the club on a day-to-day basis, and that means bringing people with you as much as it does about making tough decisions. If I was in his shoes, I imagine his message to the Board is that everyone gets a clean slate, and that he will evaluate all aspects of the club personally, or with perhaps a small team of people he trusts, with a view to presenting his findings to the Board along with recommendations for change. Discretion in the early stages I would say, is the right approach.

Other point I forgot to add to my initial post , nearly every SPFL team has within a small margin the same fouls to bookings ratio , except them , they have double on average fouls to bookings , when it comes to Europe we are almost exactly the same , funny that .

Apology means nothing. Connor and Muir need to be finished. I have seen loads of people ask for the audio. That will achieve nothing. Agree. Legacy media is on the way out, so they cant control the narrative as much as they have. So being honest about these decisions in public cant be shut down as easily as before. Rodgers took a ban last year when they got a correct decision against him for speaking about it, and has called out refs before. Its not difficult.

In the here and now, one can quickly establish the "pedigree" of a referee in terms of football loyalties. It is a small country, so the pool is indeed limited. But if it is clear that referees are either incompetent, not up to the pressure of such a game, or have certain leanings, they should not put on the black shirt in such games or sit behind the monitor. If they lack referees, go and hire some "foreigner" in advance. Maybe they'll have smarting home-bred people, but it is up to the latter to officiate a game according to the rules. In any case, they could hire people for VAR roles, put women referees in there, whatever. The status quo is not acceptable.

Wouldn't change anything mate, would just be labelled a biased mason and opinion would be ignored. I do think we should hire a referee analyst but that's a totally different thing. That's for understanding what advantages we can gain from understanding referees behaviours.

Cammy I totally agree , but my point is that the refs mindset is ALWAYS to give them the decisions , factual or not .

I said in the match thread, we should look to employ an ex-referee who would analyse these decisions and post on our social media. They could begin with a dossier of incorrect decisions that have all gone against us and for Celtic over recent years. They aren't hard to find and would make for some interesting viewing. I think the issue with Sunday is that the decision isn't subjective, it's factual. No room for manoeuvre whilst trying to explain it away. Hence the false narratives of whistle being blown before Cerny is in the box.

Talked a lot about the football and very little beyond that. Talked of "strong foundations", where does he get that from? He needs to oversee the implementation of them. He made no mention of financial challenges, the elephant in the room. First impression (subject to change depending on actions) is that he hasn't got what we need.

ZaK Lovelace came on as a sub and scores 87th minute winner in a 3-2 victory over Celtic in Glasgow Cup Final. Young Cubs overcame Celtic and some dubious refereeing decisions to lift the trophy. Cortes and Matando both started the game and played 45 minutes. Congratulations to the Cubs.

Started off with the usual soundbites which is fine, you wouldn't expect anything else (fans, tradition, goosebumps etc). Like his use of the phrase "cautiously optimistic" when it came to recent performances. Willing to engage with the fans is also a positive, then back to the closing soundbites (again, nothing overly concerning there). He has a tough task ahead of him and his handling and how tenacious he is seeking an explanation and reasoning behind Sunday's non-penalty will go a long way in showing us if he really us up for the massive challenges that await him.
