Yeah, he could have a stroke, die, and leave the Club in the hands of a psychopathic Georgian.5 points

I often think about when PLG left and Walter came back. Now, I know there was only one Walter. But the first thing he did was put a spine back in the team for little or no cost. I can’t help but think a 6” plus 80kg defender, midfielder and forward can transform this side. If done correctly. They don’t need to be world beaters just compliment what we have. We don’t need a war chest to get better. We just need to make better decisions.5 points

Man Utd hardly a ringing endorsement of a well run club post-SAF but PS does bring experience so hopefully he'll be able (and permitted to) use that to deal with the calamity that is RFC. First order of business must be the team's under-performance. The boardroom structure should quickly follow. Unfortunately, as tedious as it sounds, positive change doesn't often occur overnight. An independent CEO and new manager may help with a consistent plan for the football department stuck to. PS must be clear and ruthless in his leadership. If not, the sinking ship drifts on.4 points

Fantasising about a clearout is stupid. No point in signing loads of new players when we just sign more duds. More money, a new manager or a clearout. All would be like pouring petrol on to a bonfire. Funny because the fans always ask for all three of these things.4 points

Souttar, Jefte, Raskin, Hagi, Cerny I’d be happy to keep. Butland, Sterling, Barron, Diomande, I don’t mind if they stay but meh if they go. Tav, Propper, Ridvan, mcCausland, Lawrence, Dessers, Danilo, Igamane, Bajrami, Dowell I’d be happy to see leave. Anybody I’ve missed is because I can’t even think of them as I’m typing this so I guess I’m not that bothered about keeping. But to those saying this is worst team in X years that’s just frustration as the football under Beale just last year was much much worse than this lot, and then you’re also forgetting the Pedro monstrosity when we lost in Luxembourg and of course the side that couldn’t win the Championship under Super Ally. That’s all within the last 10 years. It might be 1 top flight title in 14 years but we weren’t in the top flight for 4 years and we won the title in the only division we were allowed to play in during 3 of 4 years so a bit of balance would be nice. The board gave upon this title last summer to get the books back in order. Clement got 3 instructions in the summer - take £10M off the wage bill, reduce the age of the squad, bring in players we can sell for profit. First 2 are ticked off and 3rd possible but not nailed on. Having done what was asked I don’t see him getting sacked. I’m fairly numb about league results as the title was gone in July so perhaps that’s why I’m not as angry as others with the current situation.3 points

One can be a Trekkie and have broad cultural horizons. They are not mutually exclusive.2 points

It's fine, he has until after Spurs and League Cup Final. Wins both those, he'll be a hero and we'll keep him on........maybe even give him a further extension 😀2 points

Hopefully the Star Trek stuff will disappear soon. People with broader cultural horizons will know the actor from Fall of Eagles where he portrayed Lenin. It would be much better if our C.E.O. would emulate Lenin rather than some pansy from the United Federation of Planets.2 points

29-5 shots, 1-1 the result. The story of the last decade. Unless you put people out there who score goals, you won't win a game. Without Cerny, we'd be in even greater trouble. If we rely on "wingers" (Sima last season) to save our day, not much more needs to be said. As long as we start with 6 defensive players (no matter how attack-minded they may play every other week), against teams who dig in and play on the counter, we are bound to toil and fail. That's my mantra since Warburton and I hate to be correct for all those years. Even more so, I am totally devastated about our management who - year in, year out - fails to see and address this problem. At least TRY to play a different system and see how it works. I wouldn't mind if we keep most of the chaps we have right now, as a simple switch in system could easily yield results on the pitch. Alas, my local hockey team is doing well and hands me the weekly dose of bliss ...2 points

Yes McInnes could certainly be worse. Much worse. He has nothing in his managerial CV to suggest he’d be success at Rangers.2 points

I cannot help but feel a lot of bluenoses are being turned against each other and the club by yahoo's and yahoo loving mhedia. For merely showing support to the Gers I have been called a tim by several bluenoses online. We must not turn into barrier throwing clowns.2 points

Good luck to Patrick Stewart (he'll need it) and hopefully he gets the scope, support and encouragement (and has the balls to take on the board when / where required) to quickly redress the years of boardroom neglect. If he doesn't it's a pointless appointment. His CV is decent, but as @Frankiesays, he's left one basket case of a club and joined another. Hopefully has a lot of contacts within the game and wish him well.1 point

Just one more fix, then everything will be fine. A defender, a midfielder and a forward who are not going to cost anything will have us beating Celtic and challenging for the title. Everything will be fine again. Just one more fix, please. Got a quid for a cup of coffee, mister?1 point

Whatever he is, he's far too passive and struggles with the physical side. He needs to do a lot, lot more.1 point

Cerny tried his best but few players were on the same wavelength. Our lack of quality in attacking areas - be it set-pieces, passing, crossing or shooting - is beyond painful.1 point

What did John Bennett try and make very clear ? Austerity & Patience. What is it we are all talking about on here ? Change manager and a good chunk of the playing squad, AGAIN. What aren't we talking about ? Where the Money is coming from. The fanbase appear to have forgotten about austerity and patience. They are addicted to and are pushing for another short term fix. Thus ensuring the continued and what would be, deepening financial hole. In 2012, we all talked about priorities. We have forgotten about that as well.1 point

Most of the current squad will be here for a long time yet because no one will buy them and pay the wages they’re on at Rangers. If a new manager comes in he’ll have to continue to use these players because the wage bill is getting reduced & there’s little money for new players.1 point

Second post as I have only felt able to read about the game. We had a horrendous journey on the M8 (that hadn't seen a snow plough after 4 hours of heavy snow) to then discover a delay to KO and then to watch a dreadful first half that was no surprise to anyone given the team selection, other than the manager. Hagi, who isn't exactly a world beater but has a football brain, improved us immensely after months of being told he wasn't wanted and then not played 😡. I've been going to Ibrox for 56 years and am at a really low ebb. Think I've used up all my fight. There was definitely a resignation at 1-1 yesterday that we weren't getting a winner. The next few weeks will make or break this board, not the manager, the board.1 point

I would tend to agree with most of what you've said except Bajrhami. He is a cracking player, like Cantwell, played out of position.1 point

I’m not disagreeing with most of that other than comparing the quality on show which is subjective but I know you are not just wakening up to the fact our club bears no resemblance to the club when Walter stepped down in 2011. We have had a few false dawns like we were able to win the closed doors season when us the fans couldn’t apply enough pressure on our team to bottle it so we skooshed it, and were a penalty kick away from a European trophy, but those 2 apart it’s been an absolute shit show for 14 years. Changing the manager again won’t change any of that unfortunately, the issues are far bigger. I’d rather we limped on with what we have and get the rest sorted first using the rest of this season to properly prepare for a serious tilt in 25/26. But Rangers fans in general and the media especially won’t allow that to happen.1 point

We hear from our connections down Gourock way, that Offord is a 'Good Guy', and a Bluenose . RANGERS could be set to name Malcolm Offord as their new chairman. SunSport understands that the 60-year-old is the leading contender to replace John Bennett as the Ibrox side's new permanent chief. John Gilligan stepped into the role on an interim basis after Bennett was forced to take a step back on health grounds. And now Greenock-born businessman Offord is ready to step into one of the biggest jobs in the Scottish game. And we understand he has already been involved in discussions with potential replacements for James Bisgrove as Rangers chief executive. That key role has been vacant ever since Bisgrove dropped the bombshell news that he was leaving the club for Saudi Arabia. Offord, who carries the title Lord Offord of Garvel, is a current member of the House of Lords. He has a background in politics and business, having been Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department of Business and Trade from April 2023 to July 2024. He graduated in Law from Edinburgh University in 1987 before embarking upon a 25 year career in The City of London. The Conservative Party donor returned to Scotland in 2014 and established the private equity boutique Badenoch & Co. Well connected in the City of London - which should help in attracting outside investment - he is a regent of Edinburgh University and a Trustee of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.1 point
