  1. Clement is the manager, it's his call. If he said before the game that he was concerned with Barron's game load, then he'd get asked by fans why he was playing him. Booing a manager because he makes a tactical change is braindead.

  2. Aye, must be quite frustrating. I'd imagine Hagi feels the same way. We need shot of Dowell and Lawrence, as soon as possible.

  3. Criminal, the likes of Finlay Curtis should be knocking on the door, banging them in for the B team. If you cant get a look in while doing well at the level you are at, what is the point?

  4. I still can't believe we saw Dowell last night, but Hagi stayed on the bench The match fit argument doens't even hold, as Hagi has been playing regular minutes for the youths, Dowell has just been warming a bench

  5. Barron started 24 of 38 league matches last season. Clement will presumably know a lot more about Barron's fitness. I don't think playing the young lad every minute of every match is the best option.

  6. Jefte for me just ahead of Raskin. Slim pickings there after.

  7. I don't disagree that we have been generally poor this season, but it isn't a surprise. We were highly likely to struggle this season. What has been a surprise is Aberdeen, but we'll see what the table looks like after 2 rounds of games (22). Despite this, we are in a cup final and are doing ok in Europe. We aren't going to finish better than 2nd in the league. With the injuries to the wingers and the lack of cover at centre forward, we were never going to break high scoring records. For me, it is upstairs that deserves the pressure. Gilligan hasn't supported the manager as he said he would.

  8. Correct. What better time than now? Rangers aren’t winning the League this season. Nothing to lose. That’s how Durrant and Derek Ferguson came through.

  9. In isolation, that's true, but we've been poor all season. Europe can be taken into consideration yesterday, but not for all our poor performances.

  10. The team sitting quite rightly second bottom of the league too, makes that stat even worse .

  11. I thought their manager tweaked things well at HT. They were pressing us higher up the park, which in turn meant we struggled to play out from the back in the same way, particularly compared to the first half. Without Raskin and Barron pushing back and looking to regain the ball, we would have struggled even more. We were pretty scrappy with the ball throughout, particularly in the forward areas where we had too many poor touches/passes. All contributed to the possession Hearts had in my view

  12. Steven Thompson (son of Eddie) is bankrupt and looking for a job. For a change, we'd be in a good negotiating position.

  13. Can't disagree with most of that, but we are now in a situation where fans decided to boo when the manager made the correct decision (to replace Barron). Barron was struggling and when replaced, we regained a little composure and control of the game.

  14. Didn’t really matter. Both were outstanding in different ways.

  15. I think it's worth remembering the level these youths are playing at. They aren't even playing in a competitive league (another mistake taking them out of the Lowland League). Curtis does appear to be a standout and as far as I'm aware he has been promoted through the levels and into the B-Team and looked promising anytime I've seen him (2 or 3 games). Currently, its hardly a conducive atmosphere for promoting youngstera into our 1st team (not an excuse).

  16. Sometimes its about rewarding the young player for playing well and developing at the level they are at rather than, 'are they better than' for me. As Frankie says the boy is a goalscoring midfielder but I believe he can also play wide. How disheartening must it be for this lad to see he's not getting a look in ahead of Kieran Dowell who is just pointless.

  19. Looks like it’s the Same situation with what happened with Billie Gilmour is going to happen with Finlay Curtis I’m feeling and many other talented youngsters

  20. Jefte. Such a difference having a left full back that at least tries to go forward

  21. Both Barron and Raskin need to add goals to their game

  22. I was right about Ipswich winning, Tottenham are so inconsistent and their squad doesnt have depth to compete Thursday / Sunday. They could have been third if they won. Arsenal out of the title race, they wont overhaul Liverpool 10 points especially with no striker. 1 point separating 3rd to 9th in the league.

  23. We made heavy weather of that in the second half. Raskin and Jefte the best for me. Others had some very good cameos but fell out the game in the second half. Couldn't understand the subs. Why was Hagi not brought on?

  24. An utterly brutal performance today with only Raskin and Jefte get pass parks for me.
