  2. It baffles me why our recent managers always seem to stick to the Plan A scenario, no matter what. Surely being a good manager is recognising when something is not working and changing it. Is this a pride thing and they are unable to see the wood for the trees? Or are we a basket case and they are looking to self sabotage in order to get sacked? If 4-2-3-1 isn't working, then try 442, 532 or 5212. When teams have worked out how to get under our skin, then we need to change the record.

  3. Right that’s that game over let’s look ahead to Sunday and a semi final against the steelmen no use dwelling on defeat onwards and upwards

  4. I thought we were much better second half and should have taken something from the game but for these comedic goals we are conceding and our lack of a finisher. I thought we played much better as a team and showed fight and commitment. I thought Baron, Raskin, Bajrhami,Souttar and Tav all did well. We are always struggling because our striker cannot hold the ball up and recycle it.

  5. After McCausland was unsurprising taken off at half-time for the 5th time this season, it's interesting to note that we've played 17 games so far and have had to make subs at HT 12 times. Some due to injury/knocks but it's clear Clement is struggling with his team selections.

  6. As a club, our current situation isn't normal and the what may be considered as normal reactions to on the pitch stuff, won't do us much good just now and would very probably make things worse in the medium term. Our support is very loyal. In the last few years, it has been amazing. However, the self entitled expectation (currently unrealistic) that we have to win everything and the refusal to see the bigger picture at the club, means as well as being the life blood, we are on occasion, our own worst enemies. FFS, it was only 2 days ago when the numbers were published. A Lot will depend on the T&C of Clement's contract. Good luck trying to get a decent manager in, as things stand. Could be a new approach to lowering the wage bill. Just get rid of everyone and don't replace them. But at least we have a united fan representation, maybe they could take over.

  7. Its also pretty damming on our recruitment again for this season. Propper isnt good enough and was our big CB buy. Diomande looks ok at times but cant last 90 mins and drifts out of games. Cortes has picked up where Roofe left off. A waste of £10 million so far.

  9. I've been quite impressed with his managerial career. He gets his teams playing an attractive style of play, despite financial limitations; MK Dons, Swansea and Southampton all played lovely stuff under him. He would certainly be a coach I'd have on a watch list - I said so before Beale was appointed.

  10. Didnt he also say that around 8 of the starting 11 where already there before Clement? That shows what a disaster Ian Beale did but it also asks the question what has happened to the new recruitments! Clement had an interview at the start of the season about the injuries and how they have been working on it - sounds like it was a simple new order of treatment tables. I actually thought half the bench was stronger last night and should have started.

  12. It’s difficult to know the best XI when most of the players we’ve got simply aren’t good enough or are past their best.

  13. John Bennett made it pretty clear what the short to medium term was looking like. Cutting cloth and pain.

  14. Tipy tappy rubbish. We need 4-4-2 brexit ball. 6"4, 14 stone left fullbacks that could play offensive line for the Dallas Cowboys. Big centre backs that can head the ball all day long. Helander was the last one we had that couldn't be bullied. A big bastard up front like Wout Weghorst who can bully SPFL centre backs. Hulk Hogan in midfield. Make it happen Mr Rangers CEO.

  15. That is criminal. A great example of what I've been saying for weeks. Players just aren't trying hard enough. You cant excuse that.

  16. I hope whoever is the manager that we don't hear talk of transfer windows and new signings and war chests or anything else of that kind. I would much rather have a manager/coach who can get the best out of the players at his disposal, make them better players, create a better team. Building a Scottish or British team without any Albanians or Croatioans, or Slovenians or whatever, and getting the best out of them, is a much more appealing prospect than relying on also rans from the four corners of the globe.

  17. 100% - he's spent circa £20M since arriving and doesn't play his own players. Propper cost more than the entire Aberdeen squad yet was sitting on the bench (same with Diomande). We are badly coached, have no playing style, weak, passive, slow and devoid of ideas. That's down to coaching and tactics. The manager said we needed to clear out the squad yet seems to trust players he's inherited over players he / Koppen signed. We ended up with 4 full backs on the pitch last night whilst trying to chase the game. Unreal.

  19. Adamant 3-4-3 but I think Man Utd are suited to that, it would just mean Bruno Fernandes missing out unless he tweaks his No.10 role - but I cant see him being dropped with the Portuguese connection with Amorim. On Tuesday he was as good as the Man U manager but yesterday it went quiet. Whether there is a change of mind it wouldnt surprise me with their current squad - but I think its to do with Sporting demanding he serves his 30 days notice.

  20. Im not saying Clement out but he seriously needs to start getting real. Confidence in him is dropping, yet he is still the same guy who took over this time last year and put us a good place for a title run. Then after the cup final I was positive - I thought we were very unlucky that day so it made me think we have a great title chance this season but as some have said we have massively regressed since the first ball was kicked this season. There are players who are simply not good enough and the 4-2-3-1 is cracking me up. To dominate a game, unless you have quality players, then it should either be 3 at the back or 3 real midfielders - but if you dont have a trusted No.10 then dont play the 4-2-3-1 as it makes the rest of the team disjointed. I have read the thread saying the second half was an improvement but when we could have been 3 down at half time id have expected nothing less then an improvement at the minimum. The team line up - I just dont get. Tav has to make way and would be more effective coming on for 20 minutes if needed. Lawrence is keeping himself in the team scoring the odd wonder goal but apart from that has been a passenger all season.

  23. It's weird. Any normal person would realise what they're doing isn't working and either try to change it or apply for a job somewhere else. It's happening all over the footballing world and is making the sport more boring to watch.

  29. I think Barron has done well for us but has struggled in the big games ; Parkheid, Lyon at Ibrox and now Pittodrie. He is young so hopefully he will progress (with better players around him, or better tactics). Jefte is another who is impressed and was "dropped" last night (I'm not believing the Sports Science stories) and a more "physical" player played in his place - this backfired. It was another questionable team selection from Clement and as Frankie mentioned, hos removing McCausland at halftime (and his record / habit of changing it at halftime) tells its own story. His subs were also questionable, as we ended up with 4 full backs on the pitch. Compare that to Sunday where he again started the.wrong team, but his changes (Dessers and Tav) changed the game and hugely contributed to our (narrow) win. I find it inconceivable that after 13 months in charge, or manager still doesn't know his best starting 11.

  30. It seems we were supposed to have been better 2nd half, not in my eyes,From what I watched Barron(outstandingso far)was completely out of the game and should have been subbed, the left back should also have been subbed,Clement does his usal swop with Dessers/Imagame whereas he should be trying both together.Tav was totaly out of game and should have knocked bal out for corner before Butland let it through his legs in the comedy of errors at second goal. For me only shining light is the continued upsurge in form from Raskin. Anyway will trudge to the dump on Sunday HOPING for a victory,

  31. Fully agree - regression is what's in question here - not time for patience. All Aberdeen's new recruits and management cost less than our most expensive signing in the summer meaning it can be done for less than 4 million. Additionally they have flirted with relegation and bottom 6 plenty of times - so a good turnaround can happen overnight which rules out this patience talk any longer. Patience was fine when came back to the top flight.

  34. First half we were utter crap as a team but result aside we played a lot better in the second half hats off to the fans who journeyed up north to watch the game .

  35. Tav did his best to drive us forward in the second half but i wish tae fuck he would stay out of the defence.

  36. Kris must also know that sacking the manager, at the same time, every season is also not working.

  37. Oh, there is. Stop playing 4-2-3-1 and instead some proper line-up to defeat this Scottish trash. Which should have been the order of the day for about half a decade, if not more.

  38. As I said in my edit, that's life but I don't see any difference between fan and supporter. Lived in Canada for 5 years when we were down the divisions. Keep my season ticket up even though I only made 3 or 4 games a season. Dragged myself to supporter clubs at 7:30AM to watch is lose to Morton and the likes. Don't think that made me (or your in your current situation) a fan rather than supporter, as I don't see a distinction/difference . Very few can say they get to every game. Between 1983 - 1992, I think I missed 3 Rangers games in the UK. Don't think it made me any more of a supporter than any one else.

  39. I'm a fan at the moment. Although I do have shares in the club and would go to more games if it wasn't for my split/parental duties. In my defence, there have been plenty of successful periods where I haven't attended as much, for various reasons. Life gets in the way sometimes.

  40. So are you a fan or supporter? I've had enough as well but will drag myself to Hampden to support the team. If it helps, I'm a fan and I'll be there, like I try to be at most games. There are reasons I can't make.every game, doesn't mean I do."whatever". I don't see any difference between fan and supporter

  41. Just imagine how great it will be that first time you walk up to Ibrox knowing that Dessers is nowhere near the place.

  42. Tav was the main culprit. Touching the ball towards our goal. Joke.

  43. Considering the fragile mentality displayed by our team at the moment, I would suggest getting the first goal is the only way of giving ourselves a chance of winning. It made such a difference to our overall performance Vs Malmo and FCSB.
