They'll be updated after every game from Thursday 24th October, then lastly after the Hearts game on Monday 11th November.. just to ensure formula are working okay. I don’t know how many players are truly committed to the Club. Balogun, Barron, McAusland and maybe Butland. The rest will perform as professional wage earners but without the extra effort of, for example, a Ferguson. Tavernier had it for a while but for seasons now, he’s been paralysed by fear. Just look at his eyes.3 points

Henry Smith used to drink in the Hewlett Packard Social Club in South Queensferry (think in lived in The Ferry) and once left the club in disgust when a sharp-tounged punter said to him "mind not drop that tray of drinks" as he walked away from the bar! He and Hamish McAlpine also appeared for one of the HP sports days for a "beat the goalie" compition. A younger, fitter Cammy F managed to beat Smith but not McAlpine. So you are correct, McAlpine was better than Smith 😉😄3 points

John McGovern not capped? Wow, that is a scandal. Apart from the Liverpool contingent at the time, he must be the player who has won the most honours in his time at Derby and Forest?3 points

Also, just noticed (unless the microsoft spreadsheet software is getting too bulky and deleting them) no wee blue dots that represent 'heiders' for us.. or them for that matter. I don't recall a 'heider' for us but then again, a few of the matches I haven't even watched. Says a lot about the wingers and the fact that with 1 up front it's easy to negate.2 points

Interesting to see that in our four games at Hampden we never once broke the 50000 mark we’re were all the season ticket waiting list lads .2 points

Dessers, Lawrence, Matondo and Cerny all have 4 Goal Involvements (goals + assists) this season. I think the point is Dessers and Lawrence are not doing anything special; they're just available. We need better all-round.2 points

I knew we were in for a tough season and suspected there were would be ups and downs with such a new, untested, young squad so I'm sticking with Big Phil. I have seen improvement in some of the players and regression in others, but I'm not alone in knowing this was a project as the board gave him a four year deal. And I hope I'm not alone in sticking with Big Phil. WATP1 point

I’m in favour of that but will we have the collective patience to let them settle? (Alex Scott scored a hat trick in his first match!)1 point

Need to get the likes of Lovelace, Curtis and Stevens in about the team. They can offer something.1 point

Glad we spent 10 million on the likes of Danilo, Hagi and N’Siala to beat stenny in the challenge cup. 😂1 point

One paper this morning reports that Barcelona will take on Athletics in a Spanish league game in America no doubt a lot of money is being paid but I don’t fancy this idea at all a bit of a slap in the face to the loyal fan who attends every game at home and as many away as he or she can afford. Imagine it Rangers taking on Ross County in the big house at Michigan capacity 1070001 point

Maybe he would, I think he would be an improvement but I will never change anyone's mind. He would definitely be cheaper which would fit in well with our current aggressive downsizing.1 point

We also unearthed Eduardo Herrera, 2.5 million Mexican carthorse, visitor of castles. We got lucky with Morelos.1 point
-
We unearthed Morelos for £1M - good scouting, great value for money and turned into our top goalscorer in European compitions.1 point

I've not seen any stats possession so I wont comment on them. I'll just comment on the eye test from what I saw from him last season. I have also seen him play as a #10 which is remarkable for a guy that stats say cant retain possession. In the extreme case that all he offers is lower wages and low fee then yes he is still a better option than Dessers. RE: stats. I'm not entirely sure Shankland is that motivated to play for Hearts this season. An issue I'm sure we all all more than familiar with, from our own team last few seasons.1 point

Sakala was also a win. A guy we got for free, paid a small sign on, paid around half of what we were paying Lundstram and then sold for 4million after 2 years. We need to do more of the small wins like Sakala, the big wins will take care of themselves.1 point

But Shankland loses the ball MORE than Dessers. So if its not all about goals or retaining possession, why is Shankland a better option than Dessers? Simply lower wages and low transfer fee?1 point

I thought we were getting somewhere under Gerrard and early Gio. Patterson, Aribo, Bassey and Kamara are 4 great examples of us getting it 100% right. There are obviously many others we got wrong, but the 4 mentioned above raised circa £40M-£50M for very minimal outlay. However, outwith those 4 there are very limited examples of success. Clement has signed 11 players and only 6 of those signings started Sunday's game.1 point

He wasn't a 'showy' player - just quiet and efficient. Maybe that was the reason, but Clough was some judge of a player.1 point

From an xG of 13.9. So we're even underperforming our xG, which is low to start with.1 point

No wonder we aren't scoring much with Lawrence and Dessers starting at 9 and 10. They're both pish.1 point

Lawrence came back from injury and Clement decided to build the team around him during the run in last season and despite that failure still persists with him. It really is that simple. It reminds me of John Greig telling us he was building his team around John MacDonald and we know how that went.1 point

But Gerrard and Gio had options as to who played number 9 and they all brought something different to the team. Morelos - strong and could score. DeFoe - most natural finisher we've had since McCoist. Roofe - best finisher we've had since McCoist. During 55 season we had those 3 plus Kent, Aribo, Tav, Arfield all chipping in with goals and assists. You could even add in Barisic assists as well. We've gone from that to a situation where if Dessers (taking away any discussions of his ability) doesn't score, we don't score. And we're wondering why we can't win games? It's being marketed as a "rebuild" but in reality is cost-cutting and points to our financial situation being worse than we all think.1 point

Better measure will be the points totals after 2 rounds of fixtures (22 games). It will have to get a whole load worse before Clement is sacked. The support have to remember that generally, we pledged patience and that to repeat the annual sacking would only set us back further, #omnishambles² Get used to the fact that we aren't winning the league this season and give it a chance. This season was never going to be pretty. The expectation and pressure that comes from that are only hindering any possible improvement.1 point

It puzzles me how several successful business individuals, in various workstreams and areas, across various geographical locations and over many years, can be so disengaged in managing a Glasgow football club.1 point

Here are the Scotsman readers’ twenty best uncapped Scottish footballers. Andy Ritchie, Morton. Chic Charnley, Thistle. John McMaster, Aberdeen. Neale Cooper, Aberdeen. Gordon Wallace, Dundee. Craig Brewster, Dundee Utd. Bobby Russell, Rangers. John Brown, Rangers. Alex Rae, Sunderland. John McGovern, Forest. Alan Gordon, Heart, Hibs. Kevin McAllister, Falkirk/Hibs. Alex Edwards, Dunfermline/Hibs Bobby Cox, Dundee. Stephen Dobbie, QoS. Hamish McAlpine, Dundee Utd. Ralph Milne, Dundee Utd. Jim Duffy, Dundee. Billy Stark, Aberdeen. Tommy Bryceland, St Mirren. Cox, Edwards, Russell and Brown were unlucky not to be capped. Some fine players among the rest, Bryceland in particular, but mostly old-style B International material.1 point
