Illya Kuryakin did see him in the stand one day back in the 60s6 points

Yes, but he's a bit of an invisible man.4 points

I actually thought their social media post was a nice touch rather than any sort of gloating. Wouldn't surprise me if we got something. A win over there would make the campaign a bit easier for the manager.3 points

Wasn't that what Beale was trying to do? I'm sure I recall some type of Brazilian style he was trying to emulate. At least that was the theory. In reality the only Brazilian style he emulated was that of Rafael Schiedt.3 points

Watched the first half again on Monday night as Premier were showing a full replay of the game, and the amount of really good chances Dessers misses in the first half is ridiculous. Grateful he took his 2 goals well, but he really should have had 5 or 6. It is these misses, coupled with big misses in OF games, that make a lot of bears believe he is not good enough. All fair and well scoring 7 for the season already, but when he should be on about 15 including an opening goal in a big OF game, it isnt hard to see why he isnt being entirely lauded.3 points

Brandon Williams was once a talented youngster, touted as being the best LB at Man Utd, but I've since read on The Athletic that off-the-pitch influences have caused a lot of issues, so much so that he may never get back into the game in a meaningful way. I was thinking it could be good to take him away from his influential entourage, but the Glasgow goldfish bowl is probably not the right course.3 points

He played quite well too. Was still dug shite for us2 points

Comparing his goals to the wee diving Jap directly doesn’t tell you everything as they have several other players also chipping in goals. For example I’m fairly sure I seen that Forrest, who only played about 6 weeks at the end of the season, scored the same as Cantwell who played all season. Outside Dessers & Tav, Cantwell might well have been our 3rd top scorer. Forrest was probably 7th or 8th. Probably got these stats a bit skewed but the point is a more general one which I’m sure can be seen.2 points

It has to be said though, we can't keep having players twist and ankle or go into an innocuous challenge and be wrote off for 3 months off the back of it. If you can't withstand those things you simply can't be a footballer. We either need to build these boys up physically, revamp our medical department or do a due diligence in recruitment. In fact, we need to do all 3. The manager is trying to do so but this happens time and again.2 points

Voodoo speak isn't welcome in these here parts. 😀2 points

Furuhashi doesn't have a great record against the dross but Celtc usually thump them anyway. He scores pretty much every time he plays against us. Gets one chance, scores. Whereas Dessers needs about ten chances to score against them. Our record at Parkhead needs a bloody psychology report. There's clearly a mental issue involved, which is pathetic really. Nothing remotely intimidating about the Oirish theme park. Treat them with nothing but contempt.2 points

In other indirectly Rangers related Euro news, it was nice to see Lazio smash the cheats of Dynamo Kiev, 3-0.1 point

We’re renowned for shipping goals in European ties1 point

We seem to manage that for about two five minute spells per match.1 point

I see they've shipped a few goals at home in Europe...1 point

Interesting...but surely it has a weakness? Overloading one side of the pitch suggests that they are leaving space elsewhere to exploit.1 point

Couldn't agree more. All the great Rangers sides reacted well to adversity and enjoyed big pressure matches.1 point

Another problem I have with this Rangers side is that whenever a team outright says they've got the beating of us they do then go and beat us. Think Rodgers last season and his 'we're going to have some fun' comments, they then duly had some fun. Or PSV last season after the game at Ibrox yelling at our lads in the tunnel that they were going to batter us in Eindhoven. Which they duly did. No backbone whatsoever.1 point

Hopefully Im wrong, but I can't see us taking much from this game or the group, if I'm honest.1 point

Aye I've been banging that drum for awhile, the club need to bring in a sports psychologist. Read before he came in that Clement was big on that sort of thing early on in his career at Belgium - surprised he hasn't leant on it over here. It's badly needed as you say.1 point

Which makes you wonder whether us complaining about creating enough chances is a legitimate concern. It is, we don't create enough between the sticks and close to goal - it's the chances we should be dealing in every game. Funnily enough his first time finish from the cross on Saturday was Jelavic esque, which frustrates even more. Saw someone post on socials that Dessers has 29 in all comps since the start of 23/24 whilst Furuhashi has 21. Dessers scores plenty, just not big enough imo.1 point

I couldn't tell you what either look like, as I don't really pay much attention to the game south of the border.1 point

Surely even the most casual fan could distinguish between Brandon Williams and Joel Matip?1 point

Wage demands could prove very difficult. He has been linked with West Ham and Wolves but neither have taken him.1 point

Went for Jefte for his engine. Looks like we've picked up a steal. Koppen looks like he's good at picking up young gems - which is what we need tbf.1 point

There's always a tightrope for any club looking for investment and given our recent history, we're right to be wary about who wants want. I think we have every right to be critical about failings since 55 but at the same time, these guys have put their money up and are Rangers men. We need to get significantly better at recruitment (on and off the field).1 point
