  1. We'll require stop gap signings, from time to time. Not every player has to fit the trading model. Looks like Tav is staying anyway, so the Christie link is irrelevant.

  2. Many years ago Jock Stein and Willie Waddle went to Italy watch the methods of Helenio Herrera that’s how you learn by watching your betters .

  3. Cyrus Christie gives me the fear man. A 31 year old EFL jobber. Here I am thinking we were past that.

  4. Well, we actually have Sterling, Devine, and now even Neraysho Kasanwirjo, who can all play at RB. I see no real need to sign one more RB, he'd only be a squad player. And TBH, I'd rather see one more striker arrive right now, even as back-back up.

  5. @compo said learning from your betters. That rules them out.

  6. There's a guy called Ally MacKay, he's the 'General Manager and Chief Soccer Officer' at DC United in the MLS. He's Scottish and a Rangers fan, but he's been in America for a good while now. Whatever we think of the standard of football there is a professionalism to the running of American sport that we could learn from. I've no idea if the club are aware of him, I've no idea if he'd be interested in 'moving home', but I'm surprised I've not seen his name mentioned by anyone in the media or connected to the club.

  7. As above, they've started laying more Rangers Bricks. Also, taken at 5:15pm

  8. If there is any truth at all in this then I know the lunatics have taken over. He's nearly Tav's age and won't offer anything different; for one thing he won't score goals and free kicks.

  9. We could do with some Catenaccio against the rheptiles, instead of our captain baring his arse cheeks everytime that wee Jap runs at him.

  10. Doesn't make them or Bennett "joined up". Bennett is leading a cost cutting exercise but in reality it's to fix the board's previous mistakes (a board he was part off). The fans have been patient, the fans backed the club through the divisions (with the exception of the spiv era), the fans have been patient as we reestablished ourselves I'm the top division. There is loyalty and then there's blind loyalty - the fans have been hugely patient and loyal but that will only last so long and os already beginning to happen - see Hampden for St Johnstone game. It'll be interesting to see the pricing and up take on the EL tickets, given most fans are expecting poor results.

  11. A fair wind would fan the flames. We need calm 😂 For half a second I thought that you had suggested Willie Miller!

  12. Unless we are offering a relatively generous package, we aren't an attractive proposition for a reputable CEO. A bonfire of a club with the fans and press ready to pounce.

  13. Which board (directors) ? The current board are looking to make the club a viable business after multiple previous boards have went with the more popular spending more than they made, whilst kicking the can further down the road. The current board, like multiple prior boards, have made a lot of poor decisions and lack real leadership qualities BUT under Bennett, are at least trying to make the club viable. If the support don't show a degree of patience over the MEDiUM TERM then they deserve what will come further down the line.

  14. I'm not sure how any of us can assess whether Gillespie would have made a good or bad CEO for us.

  15. No. He achieved 55 which earns him a place in the Ibrox Pantheon. Then he mismanaged the start of the following season and buzzed off to the Villa.

  17. Speaking with an old pal yesterday and they suggested we are back to the pre-Souness days both on and off the pitch. Initially I thought that this was a little overreaction but on reflection they may have a point. Just like in those bleak days we are HOPING for any improvement but with no real reason to believe itll happen and certainly no expectation that it will.

  18. Yeah that's my thoughts. Like everyone else that's left recently I still think he stayed too long.
