We either understand the pain associated with a rebuild on the cheap or we don't. Yes, we can attempt to pacify some fans with a short term Aaron Ramsay type signing that won't help in the grand scheme of things so I'd much rather we had a clear outline from the manager/board regarding this season's strategy. For example, I can just about stomach a transitional season where the manager attempts to overhaul the squad and reduce the budget with one eye on future windows to add the genuine quality but that has to be accompanied by progress. That might not be immediate but workrate and commitment should be evident throughout. I think the problem for most of us is that positive attitude wasn't seen on Sunday whilst fans are equally unconvinced about progress generally. In that sense, I can understand the manager referencing the Ross County win but I'd argue we should be beating them convincingly almost every single time. That's the minimum standard not a step forward to cheer. This international break is annoying me more than most because I'm eager to see the reaction to Sunday's defeat and that will be interesting given Tannadice is a venue we play rarely well at, in modern times at least. There are positives to think about ahead of that: the return of Raskin, more minutes for Propper, Igamane's decent cameo, the introduction of Bajrami and a possible chance for Nana so it's not all doom and gloom requiring short term ill-thought out transfers that will just cost us in the longer term.7 points

Hopefully not. I'd advise fellow Bears to completely ignore Cantwell.3 points

It seems that the the pain is understood as long as it means we don't lose to Celtic.... There needs to be a realism about where we are. The days of new investment coming along and sticking cash into the club to improve the playing squad are gone due to FFP. There's no quick fix. That's not to say that we can't get a big improvement in the basics like attitude and fitness but it's going to be a long grind.3 points

You should know by now that when you cut through the fluff, what really matters at the end of the day in football is xG. @compo will back me up.3 points

He’s scored two against them. Not his fault that one was disallowed. He also made the goal for Roofe against them that was wrongly disallowed too. Not saying it’s enough or acceptable but it’s a bit unfair to say he’s only scored one without mentioning that.3 points

Not to put the clappers on it but Igamane actually looked good technically. As in can deal with a ball in a tight space. Have we found a ST that can trap a ball? I've started to think it's a myth.2 points

I also saw one in a supermarket queue last week unwashed celtic top on ,just after the CL draw was made, he was on his phone obviously checking the draw. I said to him ‘You got a few winnable matches there’ he replied ‘Aye looks like it ’, I said ,”You definitely be looking to pump Young Boys” …he never laughed,..they are a humourless bunch.2 points

2nd top scorer this season and top assist suggest otherwise.1 point

Not really, just another player with no lack of talent, that for whatever reason doesn't fulfil his potential. Best of luck to him, but tbh I've no interest in his career post Govan.1 point

I expect anyone hoping the club will reduce Euro ticket prices will be sorely disappointed. The only glamorous home tie is against Spurs. I can see there being quite a few empty seats at the other three.1 point

It would be very Rangers to announce the new CEO and then have him announce overpriced tickets to get off to the best start with fans1 point

If he was only going to be out for a month, I think he'd have been included in a competition with fixtures that run into next year for us.1 point

Aye? Not being funny but the club has a tendency to feed untruths to these guys when it comes injuries. Lawrence and Igmame spring to mind.1 point

Transfermarket suggest that bought players total £34m - Engels from Augsburg £11m and Idah £10m from Norwich the largest outlays. They have recouped £38m, mainly due to selling O'Riley to Brighton at £29m So to point, they have spent £4m less than they received, so not really splashing the cash.1 point

We lack an old head to pull the strings telling and reminding players of their roll no leadership1 point

Why are people still waffling on about xG ratios? Watch Dessers stumble over the ball in a great position 2 or 3 times and you know enough. He's terrible. No further 'analysis' required.1 point

That would be mad, and exactly the sort of behaviour that got us into this mess.1 point

Great point. No idea why Tavernier does not just stick to his assigned role. Maintaining the formation is key.1 point
-
He is playing his assigned role: it's called an inverted fullback, like Zinchenko, Timber, Gvardiol, Walker... Greg f*cking Taylor! Do you even watch football? (The benefits of the role and whether Tavernier can do it - I think not - is up for debate.) My original point, again: formations - especially those derived from a team sheet - are mostly irrelevant.1 point

It's not just a Rangers thing mate. There's a reason the premier league are swapping and selling players to each other, it's because the rest of Europe can't/won't match their players demands nevermind Scotland. It's Saudi Arabia or a neighbour. One of the daftest things we can do is recruit from the premier league/championship. The talent rarely ever matches the outlay - even on bosmans or short term loans. On that point, I heard Davy Edgar talk about the club needing to give the fans a boost and sign a Bosman, even if on a one year deal. That terrifies me. The players on a hiding to nothing and there's no resale value - the day the board bows down and appeases the fans with signings like that is when we really are beyond the point.1 point
