The complexity of the draw means that it will be done mostly by computer and take about an hour to complete. If it was done by hand it would take 3-4 hours and require over 900 individual balls apparently. While we will know the teams we will play at some point tomorrow early afternoon, we will not know who we play on which matchdays, home or away, etc until sometime on Saturday as the Europa, Conference & Champions (sic) leagues all have to be put against each other to avoid logistical issues like two clubs in same city playing on same/consecutive days. So while the CL draw is later today, there will be no rush to the Ryanair website by teatime tonight as the actual matchdays wont be known for all 3 comps until Saturday. Not much point even watching it then!3 points

Presume you mean me? What I said was that he can't possibly offer less than Lawrence was at that point and he had the spark of inspiration that we need. If you feel that I meant that he's a superstar then carry on just making stuff up.3 points

I don't think there's a hatchet to be buried, there's no rift to repair, just a guy who doesn't want to be here.3 points

I am sorry, Rab, but I can read it as the Club divesting itself of liabilities.2 points

It's a Mystery. A wee timeline will help here. 1. February'23 -Stuart Kettlewell succeeds Steve Hammell as Motherwell Gaffer. 2. February'23 - Richard Foster appointed Chief of Coaching at Motherwell. 3. 18th March'23 - Motherwell 2 Rangers 4 at Fir Park. 4. evening of 18th March'23 - Richard Foster is a pundit on BBC Scotland's Sportscene. He complains long and bitterly about two decisions from that afternoon's game. Slattery should not have been the subject of a second yellow card on the 76th minute and Todd Cantwell's goal in the 62nd minute should not have stood because Sakala was offside in the build up. Both decisions were subject to VAR, Slattery backhanded Cantwell during the tackle and the lines were drawn proving Sakala was in line with the last Well' defender. Foster suggested the VAR lines were crooked in favour of the Rangers player. 5. Sunday afternoon 19th March'23 - Well' Gaffer, Stuart Kettlewell appeared on BBC Scotland's Sportsound and was led by Host, Richard Gordon in accepting, "Todd Cantwell cheated and hoodwinked the Referee". Further, Kettlewell demanded an explanation from the SFA's Ref' supremo. 6. 23rd March'23 - Kettlewell has said meeting and accepts both Refereeing decisions were correct. 7. 17th August'24 - Well's Chief of Coaching, Richard Foster is doing co-commentary duties for BBC Scotland's coverage of the Rangers v St Johnstone League Cup tie at Hampden. He loses his discipline over Dessers goal, claims it should not stand and rubbishes the VAR explanation which proves the timing of the Ref's whistle. 8. 24th August'24 - Richard Foster appears on BBC Scotland's Sportsound to relate he now accepts the Refereeing decision to allow Dessers goal and the VAR explanation. 9. 26th August'24 - the SFA charge Richard Foster(remember, he is 'Well's Chief of Coaching) with contravening Disciplinary Rule 77. 10. Hearing set for 11th September'24. Exhausting isn't it? Richard Foster's big error was threefold. He claimed Dessers fouled the Saints defender, he didn't. He claimed the Ref' blew his whistle for the supposed foul, he didn't. He rubbished the VAR explanation of the Ref's whistle being blown after the ball hit the net, "lies, it's a lie, unless he puts the whistle to his mouth for no reason". Foster's regular BBC Scotland colleague, Michael Stewart was reading from the same script on Premier Sports live coverage of the game, made the same claims. He is not being charged because he has no official designation at a Scottish club but, he hates Rangers just as much as Rangers. I am positive there must be a connecting reason? This thread is testament to the long running continuing problem the national broadcaster has with both Rangers and Rangers supporters. In the last few months, PQ has issued three apologies on matters Rangers. This adds to the dozens of sorries over the last twenty-odd years. It does NOT happen with any other club. Why do senior Producers at PQ allow, encourage and facilitate incidents such as performed by Foster? Here is the real rub, both broadcast and print media have highlighted and reported the SFA's charging of Foster apart from one, BBC Scotland. It has been two days since the charge and BBC Scotland has made no reference to something it facilitates on a regular basis. Truly, it's a mystery?2 points

I think in terms of outs we've done well *IF* Wright and Cantwell leave. Don't underestimate how hard trying to shift a grifter on a fat pay packet is at a football club. The ins aren't stellar but that was never the priority imo, although we should have brought in a game changer. We've shifted a fair bit of shite out of the club and we're still 3 or 4 players away from the clear out we want, that tells you how bloated our squad was last season. We can hold fire on the likes of Hagi, Tav, Lawrence and Matondo until January or the summer because like it or not (and I don't rate our depth at all) we'll need numbers this season, especially with the new European formats. And our injury record too. Beyond belief really. Never again, please.2 points

I'd have given him away. £600k is great business.2 points

Signing Albanians puts me off Rangers. I'm not joking.2 points

Well when everyone and their dog know we're skint, the player wants to leave and the club are desperate to offload, that's what happens.2 points

Praying for a Nigel Spackman type signing tomorrow - straight into the game on Sunday and scores the winner. Well a Bear can dream....1 point

Not in numbers, but certainly in quality1 point

If we can shift Wright, Cantwell and Hagi (or two of them), then the outgoings would be classed as successful. Unless there is a glut of incomings tomorrow, then the window will have been a spectacular failure with regards to new signings. We need a RB, a CB (or two), CM, No10 and possibly a striker.1 point

I think those 3 will soon be gone. unless something extraordinary happens between now & tomorrow night then I think our chairman, the board & major shareholders are in deep trouble. I wonder if Philippe Clement & his staff will think enough is enough & get out1 point

Someone enjoying a tour. Pretty sure they would remove the ropes to the pitch if they were taking photos.1 point

I predict no more incomings. Very worrying state off affairs how much longer will Phillips Clement & his guys want to hang around this toxic club? The focus will/should then focus on the Rangers major shareholders and what their plans are( if any) for the immediate future of the club1 point

Seen a report they are close to agreeing 500k loan fee and 2.5 future fee to buy. Thats a decent deal. Shame we couldn't get that one wrapped up.1 point

Johnston just had a very good season at West Brom. We picked up Cantwell for a couple of million because no one wanted him - and still no one wants him. It's low, but I'm not surprised.1 point

That's because you're pro-Serbia, which is weird because you like to get on your high horse about those in the lounge picking sides in the Ukraine-Russia and Israel-Palestine conflicts.1 point

Is this a joke? Cantwell is a superstar. cc: @BigDel or whatever his name is.1 point

I've just read that we are getting 600k for Cantwell. Is that a permanent deal? If it is, that is shocking considering the Tims are looking to get over 3 million for Mickey Johnston. He's been nowhere near their first team.1 point

Not signing anybody would be excellent expectation management.1 point

His mum threw underwear at Tom Jones. Genuinely don't know. He wasn't born there and his parents were born a little bit south of there. There is probably a special rule for non indigenous brits that they get to play for a country if they went to school there or something. Dapo Mebude is a similar case playing youth football for Scotland despite being London born and Nigerian parents. I think it might be 7 years residency makes someone eligible.1 point

Fbref stats are pretty underwhelming for Bahrami. Difficult to know how to read them when he has been playing in Serie A though. A few green shoots but plenty concerns too. Hopeless in the air and invisible off the ball according to the stats. Underperforms his non-pen xG consistently and quite significantly so I have doubts he will be a clinical goalscorer. Clearly a dead ball specialist. Had one excellent season in Serie B in 20-21 and I'm guessing they feel that he can replicate that form in similar circumstances in our league. On balance I don't see it with this one though. Sorry to be so negative!1 point

Well colour me underwhelmed at that one. Looks like I'll need to park the eating my own head for today. Quelle surprise.1 point
