I find it despicable. If find it disappointing that we know this, and fall for it. I find it completely unacceptable that a professional referee falls for it.5 points

I like McCausland - he keeps going and isn't afraid to have a go (unlike a lot of players).5 points

It's worth pointing out that Celtic have reportedly spent over £15 million this summer to have the exact same squad as last season. The Irish forward and the Portuguese midfielder(?) were both there last season. That's a lot of money to stand still. They might well sign more players before the window shuts of course, but currently they're a changed veteran goalie away from the same team as last season. They weren't much better than us last season, they had more upfront and a stronger midfield, but a defence that wasn't anything special and a support ready to turn on an unpopular manager and board. I don't think we're stronger than last season, I can't yet tell if we've stood still or slipped back a bit. Tonight will tell us some more, and we can't judge the squad until the end of the window. Dessers has done enough to be our first choice no. 9, with better supporting players around him and some decent alternative(s) on the bench we might yet be chanting his name this season.5 points

Well, clearly that utterly nonsensical decision by the Italian ref to send of Jefte had a massive bearing on that match but there remains more questions than answers about this side. Ultimately, we are far from good enough and I'm bemused by the lack of consistency across games. I thought the first half was largely OK but our inability to do the basics was again evident. Too many players can't control the ball or make simple passes. Our crossing is often poor, our decision-making often wrong and our shooting largely woeful. And fitness seems an issue. I do think there has been some improvement across the last few games but nowhere near enough and that's a worry. I don't see much urgency or passion from the players and we're a long way from being a good team. Vital we find a better, more consistent level of performance asap.4 points

Clement is going nowhere. He just signed a 4 year deal. I find that difficult to understand as I suspect many others do also3 points

You are being facetious. However, I think it would do him more good to get fit and, then, have a realistic chance of contributing. I do fear, seriously, that the boy's career is over, and the current machinations relate to insurance.3 points

A decent 1st half from us. Well organised shape-wise for the most part but still vulnerable from wide areas (as are Kyiv). We have had some good moments going forward but lack of quality in and around their box again evident. Vital we get the opening goal and maintain discipline.3 points

Just over 4 hours until kick off for tonight's £4m CL 2nd leg with Kyiv at Hampden. I think the team below perhaps allows the best balance between attack and defence for a game we're more than capable of winning. Payout for reaching play-off vital so we can strengthen our squad.3 points

At that time, for many people in the 'west', the Soviet Union and Russia were inter-changeable terms. The idea of Ukraine, Kazakstan or Georgia etc being separate countries wasn't a concept many here were aware of. I'd read that Stalin was a Georgian, but I thought that was a bit like being Cornish or from Yorkshire, I'd no idea it was a different country with its own culture and language. We played Dynamo Kiev a couple of years after this game in a friendly. The Soviet Union was breaking up at this point and Rangers gifted them new yellow and blue strips, the colours of Ukraine, as everyone knows now. The history of Dynamo Kiev is fascinating. What their players went through in WW2, to becoming one of the most important institutions in the Soviet Union and used as a conduit for spies, to Lobanovskyi's coaching methods to being a symbol of Ukrainian independence. I think of Dynamo Kiev in a similar way I do Eintracht Frankfurt, St Etienne and Moscow Dynamo, clubs with important historical links to our history.3 points

They don’t need to do anything with their shares all they need to do is appoint someone who knows how to run a football club and stay as far away as possible from the decision making.2 points

Both were poor but I would have started with Cerny after Saturday. Are we the only team that is micro managing minutes from every player. In all my time watching Rangers, I cannot recall ever hearing so much about fitness and players being ready. Just friggin play them.2 points

Refs, cheats and injuries aside could anyone imagine Rangers actually scoring a goal? Barron’s a flaming diamond. Yilmaz is far too wee. Lawrence is inexplicable. Cerny can play a bit but needs a couple of forwards in the middle. At least McCausland has some idea how to get towards the opposition goal.2 points

We can’t do the basics passing a ball to a teammate controlling a ball some of our lads first touch is pathetic and we don’t seem to have a playing style sometimes it’s like watching the lads down the local park having a kick about.2 points

Really - fine, keep blaming refs. We are worse than we were last season and that's saying something. Where's the progress? There is nothing there. We've won one game this season.2 points

For a country at war, Ukrainians don't half go down (during a football match) like a bunch of big jessies. Fannies.2 points

It was a fitba' match, improperly administered by the officials. That's all.2 points

Re post on travelling for me easy enough to get there big problem is getting home and the thought of extra time and penalties followed by the actions of plod on controlling crowds after game, thus not going. After league cup final I left with my son before presentation, got to Bolton Drive leading to MF station, practically no one behind us and were still directed down road and up and round to get to station by A MADAME HITLER PLOD.Despite asking politely and explaining I had just come out of hospital a week before after a chest infection no leeway was given hence another reason to fear post match travel. Will be watching on TV so COME ON GERS WATP.2 points

Kiev the only club to avoid defeat by Rangers in the famous tour of “Russia”. Locomotiv Moscow and Dynamo Tblisi (Georgia) were defeated by the Famous before the Ukrainians salvaged some Soviet pride.2 points

Not what I wanted to read. I was sure BT/TNT picked up the play-off rounds in the past. 🤔2 points

Not for me. I believe there are similar issues driving to/from Murrayfield and as a majority of the support are West of Scotland, it would have been a logistical nightmare. I'm going tonight and Saturday but I doubt I'd be going of the games were at Murrayfield.2 points
