I just posted a stat which says Tavernier created the most chances against Motherwell. It's just a fact. That doesn't mean I think he has been a good performer - in fact, I've been quite critical of him this season. We have actually been using a situational back three and one DM in possession. That's still not helped much. IMO, the issue is the poor pressing - and Tavernier's legs going.3 points

I was being sarcastic. We can sign Shankland on a free in January, why spend anything close to £4M on him now? Not as if clubs are queuing up to buy him.2 points

You’re right. They weren’t all that great. Did well enough in the early sixties. Neighbours Burnley and Preston North End did much better. Wednesday weren’t even as good as that. Sunderland did all right. WBA were quite successful. They were all clubs with history not that history is worth very much as we are painfully discovering.2 points

And now for something completely different ... PRÖPPER ... these nice German Umlaute can be transcribed rather easily. By default, you just add an e, so if your keyboard lacks the letter, it would be ö -> oe ä -> ae ü -> ue ... and Pröpper's ö would be pronounced like the first "er" in Herbert. And lo and behold, the day was already worth it!2 points

From what I've seen, pressing and direct wing play. My point was that Dessers is mostly just a penalty box striker. Not a bad thing in itself, but I think we would perform better as a team with a forward that has a different skillset, like leading a press and facilitating wing play with linkup play and clever movement.1 point

I thought he played a propper half decent game ! Apart from the obvious he wasn’t afraid to get in amongst it and he nearly set up a peach of an Assist if someone was on the edge of the box apart from John Souttar1 point

We keep starting matches with Lawrence and Wright. Attack is the best form of defence, so the problems with the press start up front, in my opinion. But Tav has definitely lost a yard of pace.1 point

Several players played a part in the OG. Tav didn't get over to their winger fast enough and Souttar and Propper weren't in line with each other when the cross came in, leading to the OG. He was our best defender though. Likes a tackle, reads the game well and is a good passer.1 point

It'll depend on how long we have to get a replacement. Let's not kid ourselves going with only Danilo and Igamane is far worse than going with Dessers, Danilo and Igamane.1 point

Big Cyriel seems to provoke a real dislike from some. I understand he misses chanes, but so do all strikers. He has scored some important goals for us and finished on twenty odd last season without playing all the games. If he got better service from a decent passer I'm sure he would score plenty, regardless of his misses. Nice one Cyriel. WATP1 point
