Just read that since 2021 Dundee United have had 1 game postponed due to the weather, Dundee have had 14 games postponed in the same time period. Yip, climate change is a bugger on one side of Tannidice Street. That 200 yards makes a huge difference apparently.6 points

It's starting to feel impossible to keep away from that lot in any area of Scottish life these days. They really have taken over and we are partly to blame.4 points

In summary. After days of conjugation and deliberation the SPFL has concluded, 'to kick the can further down the road' but, not as far as a neutral playable pitch. Anyways, the decision is delayed until next Tuesday and if it rains again and the drainage does not improve, then we will take the decision as instructed by Peter. This has been a Shifty McGifty production.2 points

The drainage "can't be fixed unless someone provided the city council a multi-million budget to do so" is the reasoning given.1 point

Eric Drysdale is an SNP Councillor in Perth as well as being Dundee FC's Secretary. When Rangers issued the bullying dossier four years past, the three attack dogs named were Mike Mulraney of Alloa, John Nelms and, Eric Drysdale. Peter holds all their leads.1 point

This Eric Drysdale has previous. He was involved with Raith Rovers, along with another no-mark called Hutton Turnbull (or vice versa) when the 2012 blood letting commenced. These two, i I r c, got their day in the sun, for 15 minutes of which they were famous, and delightedly showed their knobs, while dancing to the Merry Ploughboy.1 point

What a great idea! They can join Kilmarnock, Livingston & Hamilton in the world of synthetic rubber. We've never had any bother with player injuries on those sort of surfaces? ........... Or have we ? 😬1 point

No, just spend more money and hire more competent groundsmen/get better drainage.1 point

Can’t argue with that, but there are not many that fit the bill in our budget! I’d be happy with ABG (anyone but Goldson)!1 point

As ratified in the SPFL Membership Criteria 2024/25 Other Stadia Requirements Clubs and the Candidate Club are reminded of the continuing requirements • Rule H11: Each Club is under an obligation to ensure that the pitch at its Registered Ground or other ground at which it is authorised by the SPFL Board to play its Home Matches is smooth and in good condition and repair and that it has an efficient and effective drainage system so that it does not become unplayable due to flooding; • Rule H12: The SPFL Board is entitled to direct a Club to take such steps as the SPFL Board considers necessary in order that the pitch at its Registered Ground or other ground where it is authorised to play its Home Matches is put into and maintained in good condition and repair; • Rule H18: Registered Grounds or other grounds authorised for the playing of Home Matches are required to have floodlights which give minimum lux and other values based on the Division in which the Club plays: Scottish FA Silver Standard (cinch Premiership and cinch Championship Clubs) and Bronze Standard (cinch League 1 and cinch League 2 Clubs); and • Rule H19: there are minimum and maximum recommended pitch dimensions, based on the Division in which a Club is entitled to participate, specified. A failure to comply with these requirements is a breach of the Rules and would result in the relevant Club being liable to a range of possible sanctions. https://spfl.co.uk/admin/filemanager/images/shares/pdfs/Membership Criteria Letter 2024-25 31 October 2023.pdf1 point

Indeed, so will they have to delay the start of the split? They should already have made the decision that Dundee forfeit home advantage and play the game at Ibrox (that should really have happened tonight) or they forfeit the game and we get 3 points, but of course the rules don't provide for that sort of contingency. No, they'd rather inconvenience the clubs, players, fans and at worst risk their safety. SPFL at their incompetent best.1 point

About sick of hearing the media blame it on the weather. That's some BS. Dundee Sellick play right acrossed the damned street and their pitch is just fine. This is negligence on the part of that club. The league need to fine the club for failure to meet standards and relocate to other. Clowns.1 point

I watched a game the other day...home side was down 4 goals. Stadium was still packed in the 90th minute. People were chanting like they were up by four Rabid fans.1 point

I think big Souttar would really benefit from a Davie Weir, it's finding one that's the issue.1 point

I have been watching quite a bit of Arg football on Paramount+. Not a bad league. Some good players down there. It's a man's league, no away fans at any parks (past ten years) as the fans are crazier than a shithouse rat. But the refs let the players 'play'. Good market.1 point

I think there is a good player in there if we can keep him fit and confident.1 point
