  1. I think they should abandon the game and award us a 0-3 win.

  2. This season, Saarbrücken (3rd tier) had a superb run in the German Cup (they eliminated Bayern, Eintracht Frankfurt (holders), and Mönchengladbach), only that their ground is essentially a Dens Park copy. They had to postpone games a few times, including the semi finals vs Kaiserslautern, while others became a swamp battle. Had the last game, which was also on the brink, been called off, they'd have lost their home tie and the game had gone to Kaiserslautern, i.e. being moved there. The game went ahead and despite being another rain battle, Kaiserslautern eased past them. That's German cup rules though ... Hope you can watch this video of their game against Borussia Mönchengladbach. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjUIxxbRqY4

  3. I hope Rangers take it off Cantwell's wages. That’ll teach him. Daft fad. It will pass for some other idiotic notion next season.

  4. It's starting to feel impossible to keep away from that lot in any area of Scottish life these days. They really have taken over and we are partly to blame.

  5. What a great idea! They can join Kilmarnock, Livingston & Hamilton in the world of synthetic rubber. We've never had any bother with player injuries on those sort of surfaces? ........... Or have we ? 😬

  6. Can’t argue with that, but there are not many that fit the bill in our budget! I’d be happy with ABG (anyone but Goldson)!

  7. I think big Souttar would really benefit from a Davie Weir, it's finding one that's the issue.

  9. The SPFL need to think about punishment or repercussions for this sort of thing. If we had beaten Benfica, there'd have been some real problems with available dates.

  10. The Championship title/promotion race has been brilliant. More twists last night, with Leeds drawing and Leicester losing.

  12. I hear Sellik demanded their pitch rain covers be returned today, replacing them with a sprinkler system. Dundee Chair, John Nelms wants to thank Peter personally, reminding him of his Head Bhoy status.

  14. Agreed. Dundee will be reminding the powers that be of the favour done 3 years past in email-gate.

  15. Lifted from FF: The Dundee Club Secretary - Eric Drysdale Just interviewed on Sky “35% more rain than 10 year average, its climate change and we will need to adapt Dens to suit that” No joke. 🤣

  16. Rangers have accused Dundee of "negligence and unprofessionalism" after the sides' Scottish Premiership match was postponed for a second time because of a waterlogged pitch. The Dens Park surface passed an inspection at 11:00 BST but heavy rainfall has rendered it unplayable after another check at 15:30. The match will now take place on Wednesday, 17 April. There are disciplinary proceedings against Dundee after a fifth call-off. "The negligence and unprofessionalism demonstrated by Dundee Football Club, where they have repeatedly breached SPFL rules, continues to have a damaging effect on the top professional league in the country," Rangers commented in a club statement. "In a week where record TV viewing figures were recorded for a match in the same competition, and this evening's game due to be televised again by Sky Sports, this episode is deeply embarrassing and has also been eminently avoidable. "Rangers expects the SPFL to take proportionate and decisive action in accordance with its rules, and the club will continue to make representations to them in the strongest possible manner." Rangers are one point behind Celtic following Sunday's thrilling 3-3 derby draw at Ibrox, and this is Philippe Clement's side's game in hand over their city rivals. A victory would have taken them two points clear at the league summit, while a Dundee win would have clinched a top-six berth. With Tony Docherty's side still to confirm their place in the top half, the second postponement of this fixture has potentially disrupted the usual process of all clubs confirming their status on the same weekend before the six post-split games are then announced. Dundee need a win away to Aberdeen on Saturday to make sure of a top-six finish. Rangers, meanwhile, are away to Ross County on Sunday. SPFL chief operating officer Calum Beattie confirmed the contingency plan was always for the game to be played next Wednesday, and no other solution was found after discussions with both clubs. "This decision gives this vital fixture the very best chance of being played in front of both sets of supporters and also gives us a week to finalise further contingency planning in the event that the weather unexpectedly deteriorates in the interim," Beattie said in a statement. "There is currently an ongoing disciplinary process regarding pitch issues at Dens Park and the latest developments will form part of those enquiries." However, Rangers say they suggested alternative solutions which "have not been taken up", adding they have written to the league with a different proposal for ensuring the match takes place. As well as this fixture with Rangers being postponed twice, Dundee have also had home games against Aberdeen, Ross County, and St Johnstone called off this season. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68695355

  17. About sick of hearing the media blame it on the weather. That's some BS. Dundee Sellick play right acrossed the damned street and their pitch is just fine. This is negligence on the part of that club. The league need to fine the club for failure to meet standards and relocate to other. Clowns.

  24. Tannadice can't facilitate VAR and logistics wise, it can't happen, so let's not waste time discussing a non-option.

  25. Either the fans get shafted (again) or we play on a very poor standard surface - both are negative outcomes.

  27. I think some markets offer more value than others. If we are recruiting from SA or Scandinavia we are less likely to have to pay massive wages unlike recruiting from EPL (Lundstram, Ben Davies) or Germany (Matondo).

  28. Similarly, I sit on the half way line in Bar'72 and was immediately convinced Johnston's challenge was a penalty. Now, Chris Sutton was on the SKY TV gantry with several live feed monitors, saw it from all angles and concluded, "Silva is a cheat". He went further stating, "cheats should not be rewarded". Michael Stewart on BBC Scotland was also exasperated, "Alistair Johnston got the ball". However, what both Chris and Michael deliberately ignored was the ball slapping Canuck also carried through and kicked Silva on the knee. Chris Sutton and Michael Stewart are a pair of Cupid Stunts, they should get a room and cultivate their hate.

  31. Aye, agreed. I don't think it's just his head that's away, he looks a yard slower too, in everything, reactions, speed of thought, decision making, ground speed etc. Confidence looks shot too.

  32. Goldson has had a terrible few months and is turning into a big problem.

  33. Connor Goldson-might be here in body, but he is not here in spirit. That cat is fried like a fritter. He has always been a pretty chill character but them eyes don't lie. His mistakes are growin. Next year will be worse. Davies-I would rather watch a video of Celtic goals than see that mopey assed mug one more time. Nothin worse than a mopey man. Sell to someone--SPL, England, UNICEF. Souttar-tries but he is not really at 'that' level. I like him though. Tough as old shoe leather. Solid Bench. Balogun- Kinda guy you would buy a beer. Solid team player who embraces the Rangers ethos. Extend. Tav--He was unlucky on Sunday but he is Captain Clutch when it matters. Run him till the wheels fall off. Sterling--Not sure about right back but CDM all day. Once Lundstram moves Turkey, or where ever, he could slide right in. Ridvan--I like him. Feisty little bastard with good pace and a solid work ethic. Durable enough? We need another CB and LB with BB leavin.

  34. Exactly, and if Tavernier is the 'lead-by-example' captain we've been told by managers that he is, then he doesn't do that often enough in his defensive (main role in the team) capacity. He had done it with free kicks penalties and his goals, assists, but as someone said earlier, we should not look for a like-for-like replacement, we need a defensive expert first and foremost for big games domestically and in Europe. Goldson, likewise, he needs to be braver in the challenge, lose some blood if need be, but he looks chicken shit going for 50:50s yesterday. So, yes, next season is time for a change. I truly believe Clement knows that too.

  35. I've been a bit disappointed with Butland recently. Possible he is suffering from not making the England squad but he needs to do better if he wants to make that level. He did have a couple of cracking saves yesterday but was dodgy a few times. As for Tav and Goldson, I have never subscribed to the serial losers mantra but yesterday was a different level. They are the 2 guys who should have been leading the charge for the league title and they were woefully inadequate. Time for a change.

  36. Tav and Goldson must have some win percentage record against the yahoos. Tav must be on about 10%, at best!? Too nice for derbies.

  37. I honestly think the loss of the 3rd goal was worse than the 1st but both a comedy of errors. The 1st goal could he described as a "fluke" but no denying Tav could and should have done better, but not solely to blame for the goal. The 3rd goal, straight after equalising was criminal and Sterling and Butland both equally to blame. There is no denying that Tav and Goldson are nearing the end of their Rangers careers and both are going to be difficult to replace. I think we urgently require two new centre-halves, 2 new left backs as well as a right back that we can use to slowly phase Tav out.
