The fact that yahoos are even questioning the penalty we got demonstrates just how utterly paranoid they are. It was a stonewall penalty.4 points

I've been a bit disappointed with Butland recently. Possible he is suffering from not making the England squad but he needs to do better if he wants to make that level. He did have a couple of cracking saves yesterday but was dodgy a few times. As for Tav and Goldson, I have never subscribed to the serial losers mantra but yesterday was a different level. They are the 2 guys who should have been leading the charge for the league title and they were woefully inadequate. Time for a change.3 points

Whether or not it was a foul by Lawrence on iwata I think is debatable. He cuts across the front of Lawrence & looking to go down. Beaton has a perfect view of the incident 5yards away & plays on what I would say if the same thing happened to us at Celtic park(Rangers player fouled) & one of the gang of 4 refereeing( Collum, Clancy, Robertson or Walsh) then the goal would stand3 points

I'm not convinced about that. He looks far better in the midfield or even playing right wing. He can certainly cover but I wouldn't want him as our first choice right back for next season.3 points

These big games leave no hiding place. Yet again our defence is prone to huge lapses in concentration, mistakes and generally look awful. Goldson has long been a concern for me, and I know I am in the minority but he has had one really good season and 5/6 poor ones. What on earth was he doing at their penalty? He is a complete and total liability and is our top earner at £38K pw. He simply has to be offloaded or we will continue to struggle when attacked. We need two new left backs as Borna is done and Yilmaz is unreliable, yet another big game he isn't available for shows a brittleness we cant afford. If the rumoured fee of £6M from Saudi for Tav is correct, we have to accept this. His defending has come a long way but yet again in a big game he makes a howler that costs a goal. I am a huge fan for what he brings going forward and we will not replace him like for like but I think now would be the time for change. Butland had a great chance to prove himself on this big stage in front of the England manager and has done dreadfully for all goals. His antics at penalties is not working, stand up and wait to the striker commits, he has been beaten too often down the middle. Less said about 1st and 3rd goals the better and while generally he has done a good job but you have to do it in OF games to become a hero. That leaves one CH position which is currently Souttar, a whole-hearted proper defender but not quite the quality to be a regular starter and quite injury-prone up until recently. Alternatives are Balogun and Davies who are both not the answer. In the last 2 windows we have concentrated on the middle to front positions mainly, this summer it has to be the defence.3 points

FWIW I thought the VAR team got all 3 decisions correct yesterday.3 points

Anyone who threw a coin is a fuckwit, but it shouldn't give Kennedy the right to physically attack Alex Rae at the end of the game.3 points

I'm of the opinion that it's wingers / forwards that is the most pressing priority in the summer.2 points

Watch the highlights (5mins in)- he has two attempts to tackle / clear the ball and fails both times. Then Butland let's the ball squirm under him. Both equally at fault.2 points

SPFL Highlights of the game. Never saw the first goal before that and wonder how the ball ended up where it did. Tav hammered the ball at Maeda and it made a bee-line in the corner. Never seen somesuch ever before. If you watch the following sequences, our captain was all over the place. Not that most of our other defenders were much better. In such circumstances, with 2 DMs (who were equally all over the place) you wonder why we did not switch to 3 at the back. We never saw a slow motion of the first foul on Silva, just ahead of him winning the penalty. Not during the game, not in the highlights. That foul by Lawrence before our VARed goal, Beaton was 3 meters away and deemed it a typical Scottish challenge. Remember when Maeda wrecked Cantwell, and it was neither a penalty, nor a foul, nor VARed. One decision was correct (Lawrence did foul him), the other blatantly not (Maeda clearly wrecked Cantwell). Scottish refereeing consistency at work ...2 points

That’s as maybe but all this pish about the number of passes interceptions throw ins fouls etc go for nowt when a player scored in about thirty seconds the overall stat on that should be defensive fuck up that should be on the stats list 😆2 points

Tough one this week - went for Dessers as thought he gave a good account of himself over the entire 90mins. Don't thinknany other player could say the same.2 points

We started so slowly and the early goal almost killed us off. We had several players that were rank rotten. Full credit to the players in the second half. The draw almost felt like a victory by the end. I still think we can hurt them in the next game but we need to be at it from the off and earlier changes made if required.2 points

While I get the disappointment over todays score (and performance), I simply don't subscribe to the notion that 3 points are a given for Celtic in the next OF game. Granted our record there is shocking but we will be going there with a stronger team than today and will have something massive to play for and hold onto. The pressure will be all on them. And of course this is all based on the premise that both teams will win all of the other games. Looking at how poor both teams were today, I simply cannot see that happening.2 points

Didn’t take long on Sunday for the back line to fall apart think it was around thirty seconds so who’s the weakest link who has to go or are you like me and get rid of the lot of them might be hard on the goal machine Tav but heads have to roll we can’t go on giving away silly goals .1 point

Exactly, and if Tavernier is the 'lead-by-example' captain we've been told by managers that he is, then he doesn't do that often enough in his defensive (main role in the team) capacity. He had done it with free kicks penalties and his goals, assists, but as someone said earlier, we should not look for a like-for-like replacement, we need a defensive expert first and foremost for big games domestically and in Europe. Goldson, likewise, he needs to be braver in the challenge, lose some blood if need be, but he looks chicken shit going for 50:50s yesterday. So, yes, next season is time for a change. I truly believe Clement knows that too.1 point

Tav and Goldson must have some win percentage record against the yahoos. Tav must be on about 10%, at best!? Too nice for derbies.1 point

It was a goal Var can only be used for fouls in the current phase of play. Two Celtic defenders had played the ball before Dessers scores. The ‘foul’ was committed in an earlier phase of play var can only return to previous phases for red cards, violent conduct & mistake identity I believe.1 point

And yet the ruling bodies somehow haven’t got round to City and Chelsea easy to hit the toffees so why the dawdling with the bigger clubs .1 point

I did notice after Johnston committed that foul and Beaton spoke to him, he was grinning all over his face. Clearly he thought he got away with one.1 point

I honestly think the loss of the 3rd goal was worse than the 1st but both a comedy of errors. The 1st goal could he described as a "fluke" but no denying Tav could and should have done better, but not solely to blame for the goal. The 3rd goal, straight after equalising was criminal and Sterling and Butland both equally to blame. There is no denying that Tav and Goldson are nearing the end of their Rangers careers and both are going to be difficult to replace. I think we urgently require two new centre-halves, 2 new left backs as well as a right back that we can use to slowly phase Tav out.1 point

No, it happened after that. The Celtic bench were going up the tunnel after it had calmed down and Rae appeared to say something to Kennedy which resulted in Kennedy giving Rae a big shove. Rae just stood back and looked bemused at Kennedy's reaction.1 point

Except for when he gave the ball away leading to their first, or when he was involved in the comedy of errors for their third?1 point

It has to be a clear and obvious error. Compare and contrast to the handball in the game at Parkhead. I accept that there's an argument that it was that, but it also has to be in the same phase of play, and I'm not convinced it was. I'd have thought a new phase of play starts when the first cross is blocked1 point
-
The ref clearly saw it so was it an obvious error? I don't think it was. I also don't believe it was in the same phase of play, based on the way that the EPL is reffed, but I'm not clued up about the exact rules on that.1 point
