Despite having over 2 months to organise, it seems the Rangers Travel Partner has yet again been unable to provide a travel option for Rangers fans. It was announced today there will be no official flight to Lisbon for Rangers supporters to go and see the game. Sport Options, catering for all 5 remaining UK participants in the two Thursday Cups, have yet again managed to put on a flight at a reasonable price. Unfortunately for me, they (rightly) gave fans who travelled with them earlier in the season first dibs and the flight was filled within 15 minutes with hundreds more missing out. It is completely unacceptable for the club to align with a travel partner who cannot provide travel. I understand the last partner got binned for the very same reason but this new one seems equally incompetent. For fans who don’t want to spend 3 days in various airports zigzagging across Europe to get to the game the day trip or 1 night direct option is the only option, and while it is usually much more expensive that is the trade-off and you can make that choice. The club is normally not shy in making a buck out of the fans, and I can only imagine this scenario is costing the club money too. In 2008 the Nithsdale Loyal RSC booked and ran a 240 seater plane at very little notice to Lisbon for our quarter final tie v Sporting en route to Manchester. It was our second charter of the season following another full flight to Barcelona for our CL game the previous autumn. Surely if a supporters club can arrange, administer and run a flight then these travel partners should be able to provide the same?5 points

Shoot from distance, do it often, runners follow in. On that pitch its bound to generate chances.2 points

Rugby Park usually invokes memories of a blistering start, being 3-0 up in 15odd minutes. 😎2 points

From memory. We have played Benfica twice in Euro' competition, season 2020-21 in the Europa League group stages. We drew 3-3 in Lisbon and 2-2 at Ibrox. Interestingly, the first time we faced Portuguese opposition in Euro' competition was during our ECWC winning run in 1971-72, the last sixteen round where we were the first team to progress on the away goals rule. Having defeated Sporting Lisbon 3-2 at Ibrox, we lost 3-4 in Lisbon; thus 6-6 on aggregate but, we scored one more away goal. Since then, we have faced Porto on three occasions, six games winning 3 drawing 2 and, losing one. Braga on two occasions winning 3 and losing one. Maritimo once, winning one and losing one. We went through on penalties. Boavista once, winning both games. Sporting on three occasions winning 2, drawing 3 and, losing 1. In conclusion we have played various Portuguese teams in 22 competitive matches - winning 11 games, drawing 8 and, losing 3. I suppose we should be optimistic?2 points

Previous and now current manager's would have 2 players who'd automatically be in their team selections, Tav and Goldson (Butland would now make that three). There are reasons for this, and one of them would be availability, something that modern day fans seem to disregard. Tav and Goldson are almost always available for selection and should receive more credit than they do for this. Congratulations to Connor Goldson on his 300th Rangers appearance, hopefully lost more to come.2 points

I've not done Euro trips for just under 15 years or so, basically due to personal reasons (I.e having my kids), so maybe not best placed to reply, but it seems things were better / easier under the old travel club? If you didn't get, or decided against using the TC, Sport Options were always a decent back-up plan. I did a fee independent trips as well, but like you say, spent more time airport hoping than anything else. Major failure that the club can't appoint a partner that can provide travel to away European games. Nothing short of scandalous2 points

PC clearly feels he's wasting his time with the questions he's been getting and has decided to give a series of lectures instead.1 point

Killie are indeed a well drilled, hard working team who won't allow us to knock the ball about. We'll need to use the ball quickly and be very careful on the transition as we left gaps a few times v Hearts in both halves. Arguably biggest pleasing aspect of Clement's reign is our ability to be unpredictable both in terms of selection and the way we play. I'm really excited to see how we approach a test that has stumped us various times in recent years.1 point

Not a venue we've done well at of late. McInnes teams are generally well drilled and they've beaten ourselves and Celtc this season. Let's hope our good form continues. A victory tomorrow night would be a big marker of our progress.1 point

I'm usually somewhat nervous ahead of visiting Rugby Park but the assurance of the manager and the focus of the team of late means I'm confident for tomorrow night. As always team not easy to predict but something along these lines perhaps likely. Could be Sterling is used on the right again to add cover for Tav, allowing Raskin a start alongside Lundstram. I also wonder if manager might be tempted into starting Balogun (or Davies) given the surface? Pitch may mean bench for Lawrence but his early sub off on Saturday may suggest otherwise.1 point

Did it take as long as 15 minutes? In 1967 Alexiei Kosygin visited Rugby Park to cheer on the Rangers. At the time he held high office in the Soviet Union most notably General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Kremlin (Commies Loyal) RSC.1 point

I don't think he's played for the B Team, he's only 15. B Team tends to be players 17 and over.1 point

Reference the old Travel Club. My wife and I did several trips under the auspices of the Rangers Travel Club - Athens, Zurich, Parma, Copenhagen, ........ etc. They were well organised and contained three or four options on standard of hotel, length of stay and, type of ticket. It was the Ticket Office staff that administered the travel club and provided an excellent service. Why did Rangers change something that was working so well?1 point

Laying Siege to Mentality? Thirty minutes after Sellik securing a 1-3 victory yesterday at Fir Park, Brenda appears to conduct the post match interview with BBC Scotland's Jane Lewis. The 53 year old experienced PQ Staffer began, "The victory ensures the title race continues"? Brenda : "In terms of the title race, the story has already been written about this group but, we will write our own story" Jane Lewis : "Can you elaborate on that"? Brenda : "No, no you know exactly what I mean". Jane Lewis : "It's quite cryptic, can you explain"? Brenda wound up the interview by concluding : "Done, good girl, well done". Jane Lewis handed back to Richard Gordon in the studio and he said, "oh, oh well" and, than laughed. It was a surprising reaction from ra Sellik Gaffer to a reasonable line of questioning. It sounded as if Brenda had rehearsed(a la john Leslie in front of a mirror) his reply whatever the question. Why he ran for the comfort of condescension in his guillotining of the interview is even more damning but, quite illuminating. Of course, in the nature of any hint of negativity enveloping all things Sellik, the immediate action is vicTIMhood. Jane Lewis was being mercilessly trolled last night on social media, she is a bitter 'Well fan, exercising her long running agenda with Celtic, .......... etc. Ms Lewis did exercise her thirty-odd years of experience by insisting she was not fazed at all by his comment, "just for the record, I am not rattled, hurting, bitter or, deflated". Jane should be worried about her employer, PQ's initial reaction was Brenda had made a James Hunt of it, embarrassed himself and the club by adopting such a misogynistic, patronising line. An hour later, the wagons had been circled and the website declared, 'Celtic will write own story says defiant Rodgers'. The establishment broadcaster abandoned the sensitivity of it's reporter and got right behind the establishment football club. Both PQ and Sellik are refusing to comment on the interview. Concurrently, two days after it had been broadcast at half time on Friday evening's live coverage of the Thistle - Dunfermline live match; PQ has stuck Tom English's Auchenhowie conducted interview with Jack Butland(see immediately above) on it's website. Again, the PQ Producers, Directors and, Editors are laying siege to mentality when it suits them.1 point
