The UK government decide work permits, not the SFA. There are some African countries where it's easier to get a UK work visa, and some where it's quite difficult. The real problem a club like Rangers has when it comes to academies, be they Scottish players or African ones, is the culture around the club. If Nordsjælland never win a trophy no one will be surprised, so they can blood young players, introduce them to their first team, allow them to make mistakes and learn their trade, safe in the knowledge they are only there to be developed and sold. Our support simply won't accept that. Young players will get a couple of games at most to prove they belong in the first team, then they'll be fair game for the crowd if they aren't pulling their weight. We can set up as many academies as we want, but good luck getting them first team football at Rangers.5 points

excuse the language but Fucking loved that4 points

Pleased with that. Dominant performance, two (actually three) cracking goals and delighted for Dessers. The boy always plays with a smile, does his best (maybe tries too hard at times), but if he can improve his finishing, he may end up a great signing. Lunny, MOTM, I don't think put a foot wrong tonight, and completely controlled the game. We Ridvan, winning me over again. Definitely a better option than Barisic, without any doubt, and what a goal. Unfortunate for Silva, should have won a penalty and Ton Lawrence's goal looked onside, so could easily have been 5-0 in the end. Can't grumble with that.3 points

Beating the original Oirish team is always pleasing, particularly when it's so f*cking easy.3 points

England has a pyramid system, so going straight into the Championship is not going to happen. Other clubs and their supporters would, rightly, be against that. So if, and it's a big if, we were able to join the English league system it would be the Cumbrian Sunday League or similar, and we'd need to work our way up from there. The time to do that was 2012, I can't see it happening now. I think it's inevitable Rangers will eventually leave the Scottish league, but I doubt England will be our destination.3 points

Just read on facebook that he is 80 today! Legend. (Apologies if mentioned on another thread.)2 points

Thought we were excellent tonight. So good to see us looking like we know what we're doing. Lundstram was just superb. Onwards and upwards.2 points

A fine win. Very pleased with that. Tin hat on now, one or two of Beale’s signings now beginning to settle after difficult starts? 😳2 points

I thought we had a shout for a pen when Silva was brought down in the box in the 1st half??2 points

Special mention to Butland who kept them out at some moments that could have changed the momentum of the game.2 points

Quite. Doesn’t decide the match but at some point, something like that will and it’ll be a season defining game for some team.2 points

Great win, 3 goals, clean sheet, a few players getting a good run out. However still thought we were scrappy. Onto Saturday now, another win needed.2 points

They just made up those lines to justify the decision they weren’t representative of the players positioning2 points

I really like Ridvan. He makes mistakes but always gets forward and looks enthusiastic. Cracking finish for the first goal too.2 points

0-3 at Easter Road is not to be sniffed at.2 points

Sterling is actually quite an improvement on Raskin - better ball winner and certainly a better passer.2 points

You note the quality, he thinks much faster than most around him ...2 points

An unconventional defensive strategy. Think the scene in Braveheart....2 points

White South Africans don't really pay any attention to football. It's all rugby and cricket for them.2 points

Doesn't matter; he can't defend the back post. Get him out, Sharon!2 points

Such a big game for us tonight at Easter Road with our forward line selection perhaps the only uncertainty. Does Dessers retain his place or will the mobility of Silva be preferred? Hibs like to get forward so our attackers should get space so a good chance for likes of Cantwell and Matondo to show their quality. Three points a must! My probable XI:2 points

Strange thing to focus on. Malaria is a curable disease. The Daily Record and The Sun may as well be.2 points

Imo we have no need for another Smal left-back, would have been lunacy from the club.2 points

Agreed. This obsession both appointing a 'name' is up there with a similar obsession within our fan base to always go for former players. Hire a real bloody coach. #comehomealfredo2 points

That's not a partnership. That's the rich exploiting the poor. I'll leave you to decide which is which.2 points

11 goals for Dessers now. Do we really need a striker? Tell you what he's just as good if not better than that Hearts boy that just misses penalties1 point

💯 Ridvan has impressed me tonight hopefully he is getting his mojo back 🤜🏼♥️🤍💙1 point

What a finish that was from Dessers, cold 🥶1 point

Great to be 0-2 up at HT, two good finishes. However we do look quite sluggish, a lot of wasteful passes. We need to up the tempo, get a another goal before this bear can relax!.1 point

Overall he's been very poor. Credit for his goal, but needs to improve his overall performance1 point

A lot of fans forget the vast majority of footballers are just doing their job. I want Rangers to win things, that's about it. Hero worship and its nasty opposite are for bairns.1 point

The time to do it would have been around 1994 when Sky's influence could have perhaps swayed the Premier League. Everything is too established now.1 point

lol I wouldn’t be to sure about that haha, I contacted malaria whilst in the Army, it took me longer than a few months to get over it, it was on a Twitter feed attached to the BBc sports app.1 point

I've had a wee search and concluded it either means vice lord (I'd guess it means someone who's involved in or wants to be involved in criminality) or virgin lips (fairly self explanatory). Agree with dB, above - the Turkish rumour mill is even more full of random stabs in the dark that what we witness here in Scotland.1 point
