Glad the game is on, looking forward to it. Hopefully we come out the traps all guns blazing after the winter break. We have had a few seasons ruined by the winter break in the last few years, cannot afford to slip up this time with so much to play for.3 points

Understandably imperfect in dreadful conditions but a positive result and display in Dumbarton sees us progress to the next round of the Scottish Cup. I'll take that ahead of two very tricky away matches in the league this week. Another big 7 days ahead!2 points

Tav, one assist, one goal 👋2 points

So, on a shagger of a pitch, in horrible conditions, against a lower division team who will inevitably tire, and whose challenges may get erratic, we bring on guys just back from injury. Is it me?2 points

Goldsons missed 2 free headers as well tbf - our centre backs need attacking heading practice man. Can't remember the last time one of ours got first contact and put it in.2 points

Ha! Someone noticed that. 😎 That was one-way traffic all along, the goals were bound to come. Should have been more, I would assume the third will kill it and Dumbarton might run out of steam at some point. But it's the cup ... Nice weather at the foot of the "Fortress of the Britons".2 points

I agree but the same flaws remain. They must be addressed.2 points

Don't click Sun links. Toilet paper for tinks. Pitch inspection at 1pm, so we knew it was 50/50 anyway.2 points

Nope, easy home tie please1 point

Look, there are Rangers fans who still don't rate Tav, so young McCausland is in good company.1 point

Poor defending of a set piece undos us again and robs me of a correct score1 point

Random one but Silva reminds me of McManaman for Liverpool with how he looks quicker on the ball. That acceleration on the ball for that dribble in the box was frightening.1 point

Tav, Lundstram and Goldson are about the only three players we have who aren't regularly injured.1 point

Tbf we started with guys just back from injury too - most of our squad are either just recovered, injured or a month fit.1 point

Two things: Can someone not wipe the bloody camera? The f*cking drum! Apart from that, it's a half decent performance in awful conditions.1 point

A reasonable first half but well known issues rear their head again: namely making things difficult for ourselves by missing gilt-edged chances and conceding same at our end. Dreadful conditions though so very glad to be two goals to the good at half-time. More goals, please.1 point

Idk if anyone agrees with me but I thought we were decent tbf, just a bit wasteful. Plenty of chances, better corners too. I'd make a couple of changes at HT now. Good stuff.1 point

Time to check the record books and the days when we hammered the likes of Dumbarton by the half-dozen or even dozen with the likes of McCoist and Hateley leading the line, Laudrup et al ...1 point

It's been said yesterday that Shankland handed in a sick-note. Whether it is "mysterious" or "tactical" or just plain fact, who knows. In the meantime, reports have emerged that Ridvan "wanting away" as described in that Turkish newspaper (i.e. seemingly of the same standard as the Scottish Sun) were at best assumption and at worst a straight lie. At the end of the day, we shall see. Regarding Shankland, the modus operandi of years gone by was to put a pre-contract in front of him and thus force the opposition's hand. He's not a freebie this summer, so that does not work. The silence on our side of this "saga" - and I mean every official, unofficial and ITK source - is far too quiet to make me think that this is actually a goer.1 point

McCrorie Tavernier - Goldson - Souttar - Ridvan Lundstram - Raskin McCausland - Cantwell - Matondo Dessers Subs: Butland, Silva, Jack, Lawrence, Wright, Balogun, Barisic, Devine, Rice. Not even against the likes of Dumbarton do we move away from the de facto defensive 4-2-3-1 line up, leave one DM on the bench and buff up the attack from the off. Sure, one expects Lundstram and Raskin to be more attack-minded than usual, but why not start with another striker straight away, put them under pressure and see what happens? It's "doing Plan A better" ever since Warburton ...1 point

I liked the old high terrace opposite the main stand at Easter Road. Fine panorama of the city if the action on the pitch was dull.1 point
