  1. Ten outfielders started the game. Another five came on as substitutes. And none of these was Sam Lammers. Strange the things you cling to as reasons for optimism.

  2. I have never played soccer but i did suffer from military ops connected compartment syndrome in my right leg years ago. Till this day if I wear anything remotely restrictive while engaged in physical activity my lower leg hurts. Not saying these guys all suffer from it but getting the shit kicked out of your lower legs for years on a weekly basis cant be good for proper blood flow. https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/15315-compartment-syndrome

  3. I know the money is not comparable but I recall the same conversation/debate was doing the rounds prior to Boyd signing for Rangers. His stats before and after his first stint with Killie and Rangers are as follows: Kilmarnock Pld 153 Goals 63 Rangers Pld 143 Goals 101 Low blocks or not, Shankland would score a lot of goals in this Rangers team.

  4. While I agree that going forward, small donner had his best match, but defensively he was terrible. I was watching him closely in the first half and 4 times he wasn’t one v one with the Killie winger and he failed every time with 3 good crosses coming into our box and the other the man went by him but was stopped by another defender. Nowhere near good enough, hope the rumours of some Turkish lira being bid to take him home are true. Butland for me, the one crucial save at 0-0 when Killie were on top prevented what could have been points dropped as I couldn’t see us getting anything if they scored first. A few players had half-decent performances in patches (the 3 goalscorers in particular) but Killie always make the beautiful game look ugly so I’m just happy we got the 3 points and don’t need to play them again for a while.

  5. At least if we're going for crocks, it proves Clement really understands what the club is all about. 🤣

  6. Emmanuel Dennis is currently loaned from Nottingham Forest (contract till 2026) to Basaksehir till 6/2024. And he's had an unknown injury since November. That's what TM says. Steven Alzate has currently a syndesmotic ligament tear, received in mid-December. Wow ...

  8. If it shows us one thing it's how little the likes of GvB or Beale actually understood about management.

  9. At least we are showing improvement in our play I'm beginning to enjoy watching Rangers again.

  10. And the winter break starts, I think enough time has elapsed to make a valid initial assessment of Philippe Clément, who was appointed manager of Rangers on 15th October. In that time he appears to have transformed a chaotic playing squad that was on its knees and collapsing. He has persuaded the same players to qualify top of our Europa League group, place silverware in the trophy room and re-engage with the league title race. But more than that, after the long years since Walter left, he has finally returned a missing credibility to the office of manager at Rangers. The absence of bullshit is tangible. While it's still early days, he looks very much like the real deal to me, someone to believe in and dare I say it .... trust. It's beginning to feel like Rangers again and I can't wait to see what we will achieve under Philippe Clément.

  11. The audio shouldn't make the slightest bit of difference. Sky get to hear the audio and Crocker didn't mention the offside until the second half, so we already know that the offside was a later concoction, undoubtedly created to protect Collum.

  12. There appears to be a mixture of consternation and angst present. I voted Butland and would do so again. I believe truly big players arrive and make a telling contribution. Going into the last 15 minutes of the first half and the game sitting at nil-nil, a fantastic through ball from Killie split our central defenders. Vassell's first touch took him across Soutar, his second saw him stride clear into our box. Butland's reaction was to time his approach and remain big. The keeper deflected the ball out and saved Rangers from going one down at a point where we had only achieved a single snap shot on target. Ridvan played very well yesterday but in my opinion the telling contribution came from Jack Butland. Ridvan was awarded the sponsor's man of the match thus he received a bit of Turkish Delight.

  13. I think the grip socks help prevent blisters and ankle rolling. Still not sure why they cut the feet off the football tube socks and then overlay them and cut the holes at the calves. Must be to stop them slipping and moving about.

  14. Ah, you are Sam Lammers. I claim my tenner.

  16. Could it be a clean sweep!

  17. Its a bit odd, as i understand the compression of the sock at the back of the calf helps prevent muscle fatigue and thus cutting it to release the compression would stop that? Also i think they all wear 'grip socks' under their football socks which are bascially just tubes as they cut the feet off them (to complicate matters more)

  18. A passing fashion, I expect, like the things rugby players used to wear on their hooters.

  19. I'm not sure mate, sorry, I suppose it'll depend on how far Senegal go. Looking at their squad I'm not sure he'll feature much anyway, so hopefully he'll come back fresh.

  20. AFCON ends on 11th February, with the knockout stage starting on 27th January. Hopefully Senegal don't go too far, although they are the current holders. He'll definitely miss Hibs away and St Mirren away.

  22. But we don’t play against similar quality in domestic competition. So not sure it’s a valid comparison. The level of our players should be far higher than the opposition most weeks. Like today the striker we were up against was probably working part time in B&M to supplement his wage while playing in the Vauxhall conference league a few years previously. Soutter would have been rusty today by not playing recently and Goldson actually looked like he was paranoid about being caught out like he was for the second parkhead the way he kept stepping up.

  23. Lost all track of time. Thought the game was Wednesday, missed the first 55 minutes and missed the predictions. 😫

  24. When assessing the performance of our players it's essential to appreciate this is Rangers, not Bayern Munich or Man City.

  25. Yeah I was just hoping Phil could hold down second place and perhaps win us the cup. I thought Europe was a goner. Even though we lost to them he has really impressed. I look forward to a further transition.

  26. I thought McCausland had a really poor first half apart from the goal but was excellent in the second. Big improvement.

  27. All of our defenders are similar in that they are generally quite good but prone to (far too) regular cock ups. I include our full backs in that. However, at the level we're at...do we expect much better?

  28. Agree I thought both he and Soutter looked shakey today.

  29. I thought Goldson was at fault for allowing Killie some dangerous openings, mainly by being too aggressive and leaving his position. The most alarming one was when Butland had to make that one-on-one save from Vassell (sp?) as Goldson had charged forward to press nothing leaving acres of space. His distribution of the ball was sublime, though.

  30. That goals been coming for Ross - I've seen him live a couple of times and his movement is noticeable, he's constantly making runs that go unnoticed and unused. Big Jack in goal doing what he does every week. Ridvan motm for me so far though - how anyone can watch him today and come away saying they prefer Borna is beyond me. Let's put on a show Rangers, on today especially!

  31. Might be a controversial opinion but I dont know what they are expecting with that squad. Its bang average and he has them punching above their weight.

  32. Charlie Cresswell the latest WhatsApp rumour. Not getting game time at Leeds after playing well at Millwall last season. Probably nonsense
