  1. It's probably fair I add some context to today's banning. Over the years we will never punish alternative views - even if they may go against the grain. For example, there's plenty to take heart from since Clement came in but it's fairly obvious to me we're still well short in key areas. Dessers, for all his good work, just isn't good enough and we're too reliant on Sima who we ask far too much from. That kind of comment is constructive, fair and and difficult to object too. By way of comparison, cheap insults of players, coaches and anyone else just won't be tolerated despite polite private requests to refrain. Today was a horrible result but we're still well in this title race if we can make the required chances on personnel. That's the ultimate take away.

  2. I don't understand why any Rangers supporter would abuse Clement. He's worked wonders with what he's got.

  3. At the end of the day, questionable officiating aside, it's a familiar outcome and it's really disappointing the players were so poor in that 2nd half until they had a man sent off. Ultimately, the quality of attack was the crucial difference with Celtic taking their chances. Individually, we struggled badly in attacking areas with Dessers, Sima, MacAusland and Cantwell all failing in crucial moments. Others such as Tav and Ridvan were poor on the ball and few others achieved pass marks. However, not all is lost so we must keep up the pressure. There were several key moments in that game. Only in one did we benefit. That tells the story and it's something we can build upon.

  4. I keep writing and deleting. I don't know what to say about today. It's all been said. I'm still gutted, livid, disappointed....but hardly surprised, if I'm being honest. Clement has us on the right track, we just need better recruitment and patience for now. That's all I can say from a diplomatic perspective. Have a good hogmanay everyone.

  5. Of course it's disappointing, how could it be anything else? But let's not get too despondent. This is the same team that Beale build and had effectively surrendered until Philippe Clement listed them and worked a few minor miracles, despite losing key players to injury. There was always going to come a point when we saw the limitations of what these players can deliver, even with proper management. The real improvements surely lie ahead of us as new players join the squad and lesser lights are cycled out. This is a season's work and I believe there are reasons to be cheerful, even in defeat. What I did like today was the way we refused to be subjected to a 5-0 defeat, which looked on the cards at one point. We definitely showed some of the spirit I want in a Rangers team, even if we lack the quality to make it count. It is what it is but I'm convinced we are in the fight for the first time in years.

  7. Oh shut up. He's been left with a rubbish squad, littered with injuries.

  8. Let’s forget today’s setback and look forward to our next match against Killie I seen enough of the other mob to realise that they will drop more points as the season progresses. mon the gers.

  9. Andy McGowan is spot on. It was 15 minutes into the second half and over thirty minutes since the hand ball incident that Sky clutched at the offside straw. Mike Conroy, former Referee and Sellik man has already decreed the VAR team would not have looked at the offside element unless a goal had been scored. Willie Collum was on VAR and he has a family. Collum awarded our last league penalty at Sellik Park in 2010 and he and his family received death threats that weekend. Two months later, the Refs went on strike because of constant inTIMidation from one club.

  11. Hey panic merchants - keep believing. Two months ago we were out of this league race, now we’re back in it and a cup in the trophy room. This is a bad day at the office but that’s all it is.

  12. How I would love to play in this game in front of 60,000 bug faced horrors score the winner then I’d run in amongst the green brigade to give them high fives right across their ugly faces . mon the gers

  13. Celtc are a bit like Aberdeen, in that their players play for their lives against us but don't do that week in, week out (they don't really need to). Our players seem to shrink into themselves when we play them. It's all about mentality. Gerrard really seemed to turn it around but we've lost it again.

  14. We created enough chances in that 1st half to win the match. Poor finishing and horrendous refereeing has cost us today. Thought Sterling and Yilmaz had really good games. McCausland was decent going forward but between him and Tav in 1st half we struggled defensively down our right. Lundstram didn't look fit to me and would have been more inclined to start Dowell. League is far from over, we're still bang in this race.

  15. I think over the piece we we created more chances. We are in an awful situation with bad buys and injuries and it caught up with us today. Hopefully we can improve that in the window.

  20. On the whole I thought it was a 50/50 game. We never took our chances they did. Simple as that. Much as it pains me to say.

  22. I thought Tavernier (and the whole right side, to be fair) struggled defensively early on; all their chances were coming from that area. I thought Clement then switched it, tasking Sterling with covering more, which, I thought, dried up their threat. Our press was off for the most part, too - or, again, only after they scored did it pick up. I'm not sure why we can't start how we mean to go on? We restricted them quite well, I thought, but they've taken good strikes from average-to-poor positions. I thought we were able to get our wingers into the game quite a lot, but decision-making let them down. I don't know what Dessers was thinking when he was through - after good pressing - at least cut across the defender so he can't get the ball! Frustrating game. It just came down to moments, I thought.

  25. Really hope the Rangers team can use that awful decision from the officials to spur them on this half. Since the goal we've had three great chances to equalise so vital we keep getting forward and a goal should come. Come on the Rangers!

  26. Stay in the game Rangers. There's goals in this for us. Keep moving the ball quicker and keep pressing their back line.

  27. It was VAR that pulled it for review, then they said no pen!!, why not invite the ref to the monitor?.

  28. My dream result is a Tav penalty winner in the 98th minute. Boy, that would sicken them. Our nerves might not stand it though.

  29. Imagine they get a third minute penalty for something only the ref and VAR can see. Picture the excitement in the commentary box as they revel with the crowd. Feel the collective anguish when the spalpeens miss it. Laugh with JB as he watches the ball soar over the bar. Coming to your screen this afternoon.

  30. My other half said at the time it was out too. He was screaming it. You can't all be wrong. Another (delberate) major cock up. We need to call it all out.

  31. It looks like its on its way back in. I'd be interested in a still frame just before this that may show how wide the arc was. millimetres maybe, but the Lino should have seen.

  38. I'll happily concede I liked the look of Dessers at his previous clubs but there's no doubt now he is not good enough; not even close. The money spent on him - as well as Lammers and Cifu who couldn't even make it off the bench - will contribute a lot to where the title ends up this season.
