  1. One of the key points about about Shankland ,is that he's pretty robust, and seems to be seldom injured. Having said that we would probably shake that out of him. within a week.

  2. Ideally, yes, but guid fitba teams are greater than the sum of their parts. You could argue that Ferguson and McCall weren't a huge upgrade on McStay and Collins, but they ended up a cornerstone of a very successful team. Likewise Boyd and Larsson, but the former scored more goals. If £4m gets us straight into the CL, then it's a worthwhile outlay.

  4. One of the things about modern football is £4 million is chicken feed if he helps deliver the title it will be seen as deal of the year as someone pointed out he's quite robust and that's never a bad thing.

  5. On the face of it, seems a lot of money, but IMO we'd be getting a proven goalscorer, leader and a guy who has improved incredibly in the last two seasons. Loves a goal against the rheptiles anaw. Never been a question over his finishing, but he's developed his hold up play and all round game a hell of a lot. If the likes of Naysmith et al can get that out of him, just imagine what PC can do for him. Get it done.

  6. I'm not sure 'not paying over the odds' and 'getting deals done quickly' are particularly good bedfellows. 😎

  8. Won't be long until the transfer market is open let's hope if we're buying to try and get it all done quickly and sharply .

  9. Ganghuttery and Bawbaggery. The common currency within the PQ Gang Hut remains Rangers and penalties. Big Dick began the determined attempt to influence the League Cup match officials with his column in the Aberdeen Press and Journal, he had accrued the stats and concluded, 'bias was at work'. Rangers won the final with very little pre-match preparation and there were no penalty shouts for either side although, Bullish Barry claimed two stonewallers 48 hours after the event. The Rangers caravan had moved on to preparation for the Ibrox visit by the Perth Saints but, Barry continued to howl. The PQ AberTic alliance is seamless in transition, the Dandies troop off after giving their all against Rangers again and; ra Bhoys take the field in possession of the ball of conspiracy. There must be an old firm game on the horizon. Rangers visit ra Stade de Gadd on the 30th of December'23 and it is over thirteen years since Rangers were awarded a penalty in Glasgow's east end. Kenny Miller scored to secure a 1-3 win, Neil Lennon accused Kenny of diving and, Referee Willie Collum was the recipient of death threats that weekend. A couple of months later during 2010, Scottish Referees went on strike due to inTIMidation emanating from the separate entity. BBC Scotland's satellite channel has done any number of Scottish football documentaries, mostly Sellik related. A View from the Terrace has broadcast over 100 shows and recently did a two parter on Fergus McCann's saving of ra green'n'grey hooped horrors. All the usual suspects had their say ie Matt McGlone, David Low, Stephen McGowan, .... etc. You would think such a unique event like a Referees' strike would be worthy of examination? We know why they will not touch it because even a cursory examination will conclude Sellik and Sellik supporters(particularly those in broadcast and print media) and their demands, caused the withdrawal of labour. On Saturday, RAB Cosgrove and Tam the Token had BBC Scotland staffer, Paul English and stand up comedian, Marc Jennings as guests. Both are Sellik supporters and the show was reduced to faux guffaws over Rangers and penalties. Paul English has appeared as often as Susie McCabe and it is the same well rehearsed over conditioned patter, English even lionised Big Dick for his column. This is how you reinforce a perceived bias, pick the stats that suit you to the chorus of RAB's staged guffawing. The good friends of the show would not have it any other way, particularly Peter. Rangers have won three trophies from the last thirty-seven, this Masonic conspiracy must be applied harder?

  10. I wasn’t just talking about the value of the player but the bigger picture of him playing a part in getting us into this champions league were the real big money is and if he did well by scoring a few maybe some clubs with money to spend might make an offer for him it could be a win win situation

  11. Is it worth pointing out that signing Shankland and the figure of £4m are both just unsubstantiated gossip.

  12. Rather than paying £4m, maybe we could throw one of our surplus players into the deal. For example, we could offer Lammers + £7 million.

  17. Some whispers over on FF about whispers from the Hearts camp that Shankland is a done deal for 4m in January. If it doesn't come off, blame the Hogfather!
