Even more mental when you consider Fashion was probably our most consistent performer along with Todd from when Beale came in to pre season. I'll always have time for Fashion, at least with him he worked his bollocks off when wearing the shirt - his shots were wayward at times and he chased his touch a fair bit but he contributed regularly and gave his all. There's been plenty of chancers and shitebags over the last decade who've played for our club, Fashion isn't one of them. Best of luck to the man.3 points

With anyone else, you may think that there was a bit of spin on it, but Sakala comes across as a genuine and truthful guy, and it's damning on Beale.3 points

Everything about Beale being manager was a mistake, with the exception of signing Butland.3 points

I can’t believe the club seriously thought it would be rescinded. It had to be an exercise in showing support for the player. Circling the wagons.3 points

Some actual footage of a fan waiting for Morelos to repent.2 points

I don't know what COA or IOW mean. Either way, some things are more important than football or the day job.2 points

You make a good point. Science and ethics are often in conflict. Suppose it depends on who is in control of the process.2 points

It isn't but our detractors tend not to focus on facts and stick to their narrative. They're like women, all emotional with rationale cast aside. 🤣2 points

It has been allowed and encouraged to fester into the established wisdom of Scottish football. Rangers are given an unfair advantage over other teams, ergo, Rangers are cheats. It's now spoken of openly by players and managers alike and goes largely unchallenged. It's classic Scotland, everything we've become.2 points

I'd take a striker from the juniors before I'd take Alfie back.1 point

I'd love him to fire us to a title tbf, we need more scottish blood in the team - coming from a brummie ha! The women's team do it right like that tbf to them.1 point

£900,000 - £1.25M plus Lowry - if they don't accept, walk away and focus on another option.1 point

They'd tell us to fuck off right enough. The add ons will probably do a lot of heavy lifting if we do sign him, it'll probably be something like 1.25-.5m with an extra 1m in add ons. But hopefully it's target's that reflect his value to us as a signing, rather than pish like triggering 250k for 10 league apps. If we're throwing 3m+ upfront let's just pray he fires us to the title eh.1 point

News from unreliable sources suggests Hearts want £5m for Shankland. I think we'd be nuts to pay £2m for him.1 point

NO and thrice NO. It took long enough to get rid of him, let's not be silly now.1 point

I don't doubt for a minute that Sakala is offering the truth here. It says everything about the inadequacies of Beale's leadership and probably most other football managers too. Releasing a player isn't just about getting rid of someone, it's an opportunity to send a message to those left behind. Beale got exactly what he deserved, he just didn't get it soon enough.1 point

I'm just going on the assumption that anyone saying they want Morelos back is taking the p*ss.1 point

The robe should be made of an elastic material for shifts in mass. Morelos has played a total of 76 minutes and scored no goals since he left us. His last competitive goal was in April. NO1 point

It does seem fairly common and I don't think how Beale treated Sakala is particularly extraordinary.1 point

The new Ryan Jack in more ways then one!1 point

Hard not to agree with Sakala's view that he could at least have been allowed the chance to say goodbye and to train with the squad, even if he wasn't part of the manager's plans. Its a harsh environment though, and freezing players out is probably more common than we realise, otherwise players might not be incentivised to direct their agents to get them a move and could well sit there running down their contract but with little chance of getting regular minutes.1 point

Ahhhh...little bit of sociopathy there Mike? Another piece to the puzzle. I bet he was a dream to work with.1 point

I think you can see an example here of how Beale would have lost the dressing room and the players through these types of actions. I would'nt want to work for someone who treated a colleague like this. I'd imagine footballers would be the same. And this is but one example of how he operated. Bottom line was he was a decent squad player that couldnt be counted on to do it when it mattered. There is a way to move players on and the path beale chose here likley alienated others.1 point

Funny and likely in one generation. You breed traits, not individuals. Our pet stores, farms and orchards are brimming with proof that selective breeding for phenotype is highly successful. Is it moral with humans? Depends. But to poo poo the entire process is just a result of social conditioning.1 point

Lovelace only signed in summer 2022 and for some reason I doubt it was but a 2-year deal. Who knows ... Think 16 year olds can only sign for two years max1 point

The club should claim mistaken identity. I sit on the half way line and I saw Sam Lammers attempt that tackle. Do I have a witness?1 point
