I think Rangers should give that Lowry kid a decent run of games under Phil before passing judgement. He has shown flashes. I get the 'petulant little shit' vibe from him, but I also think he has a lot of talent. And to be honest i don't think any of us would enjoy the company of our 21...22 year old selves if we were to meet them. I know I wouldn't...that panty chasin, meat head.6 points

Hateley told a story that Laudrup was like that in his first game. Beat a man about 3 times. Kept checking beck numerous times. Hateley sat down with Laudrup after that and told him to get the ball crossed in quickly as there were 2 goal scorers in the middle....and the rest was history.4 points

Shankland in is a no brainer imo. He does what it says on the tin, he scores goals. Boyd had no pace and he did alright. Ok so maybe he's not the top quality striker some folk crave for but he will score goals in this league and that's what we are lacking big time. Edit to add....i watched Clement and him at full time and he got a wee bit more than a handshake.4 points

I said in the match thread that we should give Sima a run as striker, apparently this is what Brighton signed him as?. Can't be any worse than what we have seen! I know he has been playing wide, however with McCausland playing RW & if Matondo stays fit???????, he would be LW. Having said that we could do with a striker who scores goals, and so could every other team!.3 points

Good. We can sell one Ross McCausland for decent dosh and keep the other one.3 points

There's more reason to whine about what actually was. ๐2 points

Another transfer window with Rangers fans whining about what could've been. Yipee!2 points

Nonsense. Robson gave them a win at Ibrox. Heโs safe for five seasons.2 points

So if, at the end of the season, you are less than 21 points off the winner, you can always console yourself with "I coulda been a contender"2 points

Robsons coat must be on a shoogly peg. To think if we hadnt given them the points we did he would likley be gone by now. Hopefully the cup final see's justice done and Robson on the dole.2 points

Wingerโs disease. Jimmy Johnstone had it in spades. Henderson and Wilson were immune. Beat the man, make the pass or the cross or go for goal.2 points

Paying the Penalty. Ten sleeps until Hampden and last nights league games have provided another few threads to the cup final tapestry. BBC Scotland's second Dandy, Liam McLeod began his pre-match ramble with, "This is Hearts - Rangers third meeting in five and a half weeks, the first at Ibrox appeared to be a comfortable Hearts victory until the controversial award of that injury time penalty to Rangers ................... ". Like Big Dick Gordon, Liam is intent upon maintaining pressure on the appointed match officials. Three games in a row and no penalty award to Rangers. Liam was too exasperated during the last fifteen minutes of his match commentary from Tynecastle to mention Sellik being awarded their ninth penalty of the season against Hibs. Liam was concentrating so hard, willing the Jambos to equalise that the news of Killie's winner at Pittodrie was a barely whispered interruption. What advice will Liam offer Big Dick reference the penning of his next Aberdeen P and J column? The penalty being paid by Aberdeen for a 0-1 defeat by Killie is they are second bottom of the table on 13 points and have a goal difference of minus nine. A third of their points total and over a quarter of goals scored have come in their two games against Rangers. Aberdeen players and staff are cheating the Dons supporters because the stats reveal they only raise an effort when confronted by Rangers. Perhaps Liam and Big Dick could expend more effort quantifying their specific hatred this week in the P and J?2 points

Man alive that Danilo! Rangers should have stomped them 3-0. Ahh well...a win! Onward and upward.2 points

Yes, our injury record is depressing. I'm filing Lawrence and Raskin under Daniel Prodan and Alan McLaren....2 points

He would add a physical presence we dont have at #9. I was dead against it during the summer, but if we can get him for a decent price 1.5 million say i'd bit your hand off. Modest wage for 4 years, seems to play every week and not get injured..2 points

Some positives to take from the game for me. Cantwell playing a bit deeper last night was more like his old self in chasing the ball down. He was all over the park and worked his socks off. Cifuentes did better. I like the way he can nick the ball back without giving away too many fouls. He has an eye for a pass too. If we could do something about his pace we might have a player there. Sima's goal, Butland's saves and a workhorse performance from Lundstram were all key in the game. We need a quality striker. We will never know until we see Shankland in a blue jersey whether he has what it takes to play for us. We need someone to take some of these chances we are creating and can't rely on Sima alone for the rest of the season.2 points
-
Absolutely, you don't need pace to get yourself into goal scoring positions, we've been sucked in before to buying fast, when in most of our games it does nothing for us, teams sitting in negates it's effectiveness. He's not the messiah, no one's saying he is, but he'd be an upgrade on what we have now. 'Someone from the club will be telling him the fans will love it.' PC doesn't strike me as a manager who would invest in what fans think. Fans want success, that'll be his driver.2 points

He will certainly have taken the chances that Dessers and Danilo have missed despite his lack of real pace.2 points

Some good performances last night - Balogun, McCausland, Cantwell, Cifu, another goal for Sima, Butland, another assist and goal line clearance from Tav but I've gone for Lundstram again.2 points

It's very satisfying that Hartโs form has plummeted at the same time.2 points

Mention for Leon Balogun tonight who I thought hardly put a foot wrong and was probably a MOTM contender.2 points

Hearts will feel obliged as they always do at their place to attack us with everything they have so we'll have opportunities in transition. Our recent record at Tynecastle gives me confidence in a squad that has a propensity to shit the bed. I just want to see the lads win their battles tonight, I know it's an old da shout but it rings true; win your battles and the quality will shine through. With Jack in goal we'll always be in it at least. Mon lads, make the fans happy tonight.1 point
