Our home record in EL since 2017 Played - 32 Won - 23 Drawn - 6 Lost - 3 Rather impressive record.7 points

Well done Rangers. We hung in there for the first 40 minutes, then stepped up. I think we controlled the second half, the Keeper and Kemer Roofe were outstanding throughout. I believe the last time we won against a Spanish team in European competition was Osasuna in 1985, Hugh Burns rampaging through the puddles and Craig Paterson scoring.6 points

I don't think they were that bad. Maybe we did enough to make them lose their way in the 2nd half? I know we've been honking of late but sometimes we just need to give our team credit where its due. We won a Europa League match against a La Liga side. I would say 100% of Rangers fans would have taken that before the game.6 points

The domestic stuff is where Beale will be judged. I still want him gone ASAP.4 points

We need to learn how to use his pace to better effect. We’re not always doing that at present4 points

Agreed. I would also consider bringing in Souttar on the right side of the central defence. That would enable us to give Goldson a rest whilst seeing how Souttar and Davies operate.3 points

I feel this way with several of our players; we're not using them properly.3 points

I was at that Osasuna match. It rained so hard that night the Clyde Tunnel was closed due to flooding. Funny the things you remember. It feels great to have won, and on balance I think we deserved it. We were disjointed and struggling to find any rhythm in the first 30 minutes or so but from around then onwards we were the better side, I thought. I think we're all agreed that Butland had a very good match, arguably our man of the match. I thought our defence played well, Goldson was immaculate and the other 3 stuck to their task and came out on top more often than not. Still not convinced we're good enough mid to front, yet. Perhaps it'll gel and come good. there were patches of decent football last night, but we still give up possession too easily. Lawrence going off is a blow, hopefully it's nothing serious.3 points

The one summer signing that has been a success. Coincidentally the only summer signing I had heard of prior to us signing them, and the only one with any pedigree whatsoever that looks like a fit for us. Some good saves last night when the pressure was on. I dont think he has had any worldies yet, but I cant think of any costly mistakes either. That is a very good record to have.3 points

Compare and Contrast? We have experienced two nights of Scottish clubs participating in European competition this week. How have PQ CSC reported the attempts by Sellik, Aberdeen and, Rangers on their Scottish Football website? This webpage is important for Auntie's perspective on posterity, it is the equivalent of newspapers' cuttings libraries. In future when recalling events from a previous fixture between two clubs, this will be their first and major point of reference. First up on Tuesday evening was ra Sellik, Martin Dowden filed several reports from the Netherlands as ra green'n'grey hooped horrors took on Feyenoord in the Champions League. We can thank Annie McGuire back in the day for informing the listenership, "both Martins, Dowden and Conaghan are really good Celtic men". Positivity is Martin's mainstay when reporting on his heroes, no mention of the club's several year long Euro difficulties. His post match report was more of the same, nine man Hoops were brave : "In the aftermath of another Champions League defeat, it would be easy to say, 'same old Celtic'. The result - losing 2-0 to Feyenoord in Rotterdam in their opening group game - seemed familiar at this level but, at times this display was an accomplished display by the Scottish Champions. The script felt different though, and perhaps offers encouragement ahead for Celtic's upcoming home fixtures. Rodgers side played well in the first half, better than on many away days, before the hammer blow of a concession deep into injury time signalled the start of the demise". Now, Feyenoord had two goals chopped off, a penalty miss and, two goals awarded. Sellik had two players red carded. All these decisions were checked and approved by VAR. I understand PQ literally has, 'a Celtic State of Mind' two of that particular site's Podcasters are employed by the national broadcaster; however, long term employees of Auntie should be encouraged to report objectively. Adopting a more comfortable fan media stance allows Martin to crop the game to one half. Further, Feyenoord had the advantage of a greater budget. Last evening's starter was Aberdeen in Frankfurt for the Euro-Conference League. Dandy Don fan and BBC Scotland's Digital Editor, Tyrone Smith played a Pittodrie hand, positively bullish with established PQ bon mots sprinkled around, "one of last surviving members of the team that won the Europa Cup two seasons ago is the Keeper. Of course, he broke Rangers hearts denying Ryan Kent in extra time and saving Ramsay's penalty in the shoot-out". He concluded, "Aberdeen showed mentality, desire, fight and, tactical know how in abundance against their expensively assembled German side". Thus, two Scots sides endured battling defeats and added zero to the decreasingly important national coefficient. If Sellik had hit the post again, how much would the efficient accrue? The Rangers - Real Betis is PQ postres on the Euro' menu. If Sellik get a good Sellik man and Aberdeen can rely upon a Dandy, Rangers receive Kerrydale Insane(Kheredine Idessane). The privately educated Kheredine focused on Michael Beale's difficulties in build up, no problems because he was writing what the majority of the Rangers support were saying. The game itself was different because his initial report after the game began, "Real Betis will absolutely feel hard done by because they had Rangers on the back foot for long periods of the game". I say initial because by this morning Kheredine's report had been disappeared. Replaced by Scott Mullen telling us, "Sima goal gives Rangers narrow win". Kheredine's report read as if Kheredine and his PQ CSC chums felt hard done by the expensively assembled Andalusian's outfit inability to defeat a struggling Rangers. Rangers have played five Euro games this season so far, have won two, drawn two and, lost one. Rangers have and are consistently adding to the national coefficient but, no one at BBC Scotland will be allowed to mention the fact on their web page. PQ CSC are reverting to warmer, more comfortable memories of Pedro standing in a hedge after Progres Niederkorn knocking Rangers out and when Sellik hit the post against Real Madrid.2 points

The fact that there are multiple options for MOTM can only be a positive. Many games of late have had no outstanding candidates. Long may it continue.2 points

Sima is another. I’m not convinced he’s best suited playing out wide as he’d often asked to do2 points

Beale isn't going to play three at the back, regardless of how much it is desired by posters on Rangers forums.2 points

Why not all three? Souttar, Goldson and Davies to me seems potentially a sound back three which allows more freedom for Tav and Bara to rampage forward.2 points

Banning may be a tad extreme, though several names have been noted.2 points

Lundstram for me. A few misplaced passes aside I thought his drive and energy were really good. Davies, Butland, Roofe had good games also.2 points

I feel he got his shot away too early last night. He could have carried it another few yards the picked his corner.2 points

Our xG was 2.81 - the second highest of the season behind the Servette game at Ibrox. Mainly coming from 3 big chances, though. 2.26 xG came from the second half, showing how much more effective we were compared to the first half (0.55 xG). Real Betis had an xG of 0.84, so we were a full 2 higher than them, which is much better.2 points

First half we looked disjointed trying to draw them out but couldn’t seem to get any consistent balls into the midfield. They were on top of us and seemed to be waiting to trap us so many times. However we grew into it though and I thought second half we were much better positionally, which helped create more pressure and ultimately chances. They showed some nice touches but otherwise I thought we more or less contained them in the final third.2 points

Fantastic result against a very handy outfit - when was the last time we beat a team from Spain in a European game? Thought the whole team contributed; Butland was solid and pulled of a couple of good saves. Flapped at one cross but no harm done. Tav played way more defensive tonight and was good. Goldson had a good game. Davies was outstanding in my opinion. Borna like Tav played more defensively. Cifuentes came onto a game after a slow start and probably his best game so far. Lundstram like Davies was outstanding. Lawrence was maybe the least effective of the starting 11 but had one brilliant effort prior to going off injured. Sima is an enigma, the modern day Sebo but showed great desire to force ball home. Roofe had very little service but played well. Matondo was a constant threat and up there with Lundstram and Davies.2 points

I thought we did well tonight. We had a lot of players with bursts of good moments. If only we could bring them altogether to make a full 90 minutes.2 points

Interesting thing for me was Beale post-match praising Bailey Rice. With our midfield injuries we could do with seeing this young man asap. Livingston in the cup would be a good opportunity.1 point

Very much a game of two halves so I'd like talk about that more than the first. Defence gave us the platform in 2nd half with Cifu and Lundstram also better positioned. Add in the forward line looking after the ball a bit better, it allowed us to look much more dangerous. In terms of individuals, it was good to see Goldson and Davies look solid enough with Barisic again maintaining his early season form. Midfield were poor for first 35mins but grew into it, as did attack and Lammers especially should take heart from his contribution.1 point

Bit young and wet behind the ears, why not go the whole way and appoint Roy Hodgson?1 point
