I cant be bothered with all the xg stuff. We are God awful to watch at times and pedestrian is kind to the "tempo" we play4 points

Just be careful with their aphrodisiac nature. Is there a defibrillator nearby?4 points

Given a growing number of fans have already made their minds up regarding Beale, no matter what the restult / performance today, Thursday or the next 10 games, that's an obvious assumption. In fact, MB could get us to EL Final, win the treble and some will say its not good enough and papering over the cracks. 3 points, clean sheet and 2 good goals and on to Thursday. Positives : Danilo starting and scoring. Sima's pace / power will hurt teams. Lawrence being back in the team (great assist). Roofe back in the team. Negatives : Danilos injury. Talking Point : 2nd consecutive game we've had a perfectly good goal wrongly chopped of by VAR.4 points

It is now obvious that the officials are just making it up as they go along.3 points

I am in a bijou cove in southern Brittany, la Foret de Fouesnant. I discovered this place about 17-18 years past and have returned on three occasions. There's an old port with a cafe Tabac and a Coquillage. A couple of kilometres up the hill, there'a patisserie and Traiteur dominated by a Madame. Always up for a culinary adventure, I venture up said hill and inquire: "Madame, avez vous des ootsiders"? She relies, "qu'est que c'est ootsiders"? I tell her of an acquaintance who schooled avec le Premier Ministre d'Ecosse a Grammar de Hutchie, le Maitre l'Etiquette. He advises huitres be accompanied by deux ootsiders de pain carre et ketchup. I am the recipient of the Gallic shrug. I will need to ask Humza? I should have stuck with les Bullots.3 points

I'll give the manager a bit of credit today. We won 2-0. Clean sheet and couple of good goals. Substitution killed the game. Didn't play great or create a load of chances, but out of the few chances we created they were good and we finished them well. Danilo managed to escape 4 defenders who were all marking space. As soon as Matondo seen that through ball he knew he was scoring and that was missing from his game last season. I've been looking for two things from today, 3 points and signs of life. The 3 points are in the bag and there were some very faint signs of life about this team. Long way to go but we have a good run of games on the cards, hopefully he can turn things around.3 points

If that is the only angle then what is the point of VAR? it is unclear at best, therefore has to be challenged. FWIW I think he was onside.3 points

We are still a club capable of fighting for four trophies a season. We can provide a manager with a stepping stone into EPL. Were we to stop paying loads of money for average players we could pay a good manager a good wage and a good sign on fee. I think we are an attrcative club for most managers, if not Potter.3 points

Glad we have scored.......................but this is fecking boring!!!!!3 points

This team should be good enough to win! how many times have we all said that? 😮3 points

Because they're lower table teams. They will all finish bottom half. Easy teams. That's why I said above that our xG differential is too tight. If we're just expected to score one more goal than our opponents on average, there will be a lot of instances where we drop points. You do get extremes. I don't think I'm being extreme by suggesting our xG differential is not good enough. Agreed.2 points

XG aside, no offence Rosseau. Surely everyone can see how badly we are playing with their eyes.2 points

He's clearly offside. Why are we resorting to this sort of childish denial every time we don't get a decision in our favour. It's embarrassing.2 points

Nobody's convincing me that this is offside.2 points

To be honest, I would choose the sound of those drums over the non stop dirge about Bobby Sands anyday of the week. That stuff is embarrassing.2 points

Put them on a couple of ootsiders from a square loaf with some tomato sauce2 points

Probably best to hedge your bets and go 50:50 HP and Heinz ketchup.2 points

This is dreadful from a team we’re told has come to deliver a big response.2 points

Well the opponents haven’t really offered anything but the age old problem of not creating enough quality chances is still totally obvious. As is how dull we are to watch. Felt like we stopped playing ten minutes before the end of half time. And with only one goal in it anything can happen.2 points

Yes and explains why some players are not playing (Cifu not getting back until yesterday as an example).2 points

Regardless what the result is or how they play, Thursday will be a real tough match, especially how were are not setting the heather alight just now.1 point

It's been decades since I've been "too thin", but thanks anyway.1 point

How do you quantify easy teams? Killie have beaten us and them this season. St Johnstone held them to a 0-0 draw at Parkhead. Are they "easy teams"? Livi are notoriously difficult to play against and we scored 4 goals against them. We matched Celtic and lost due to a dubious refereeing decision - how does xG equate for that? I'm not saying we are playing brilliantly, we aren't but I don't think it's as bad as some are making out. Said earlier in the thread people have made their minds up regarding MB and no matter what happens now / next, they won't change their minds.1 point

xG 9.04 - 8 goals scored. xGA 2.21 - 2 goals conceded.1 point

VAR shouldn't need to leave it to interpretation though, it's supposed to be conclusive!.1 point

Agreed, but I don't think offsides need to be interpreted; it's off or it's not. He's off.1 point

We won 0-2 deservedly because largely, we controlled the game. However, we remain turgid to watch and Danilo's compound fracture compounds our ongoing situation. I suspect they will smell blood in Seville? Now, the important stuff; any suggestions on the accompaniment to fresh oysters? I love the traditional mignonette of red wine vinegar and shallots, also fond of Tabasco and, think some fresh squeezed lemon juice is the thing. Anyone ever attempted the Chablis with peppercorns?1 point

As Roofe gets his second goal in consecutive league games wrongly chopped off by VAR….1 point
-
Same old, same old…….lacking creativity middle to front & needlessly giving the ball away at times. The goal was the one exception in an uneventful first half. St Johnstone haven’t threatened at all but all it takes is one lapse in concentration1 point

Apart from the goal another dismal performance.1 point

Right, here I am, full of uncertain optimism and ready to be thrilled and astounded by the rebirth of adequate football from Beale's XI. I hope I'm in the same place at full time and struggling to decide between a plethora of MOTM candidates.1 point

It's wet and cold here in Edinburgh - I'm glad I'm watching it in the house because I hate McDiarmid Park, which manages to seem cold whatever time of year it is. Hopefully Danilo and Roofe can bang in a few. ⚽1 point
