Even an out of form Rangers should scud this St Johnstone side. They're abject and in terrible form. So are St Johnstone...8 points

Our national anthem is GSTK. It doesn't matter whether you're Scottish or English. That's your national anthem. The SFA have decided not to use it for whatever reason and chosen FoS as the anthem to use for the Scottish football team. It isn't our national anthem though and the SFA don't decide what our national anthem is. The English FA have decided to use the national anthem as the national anthem. They've kept it simple and are using it correctly, unlike the SFA.4 points

Firstly, that verse isn't part of the official national anthem. Secondly, I've never heard it sung. Thirdly, I have no problem with the verse. It's only referring to rebellious Scots and not all Scots, and I'm totally in favour of rebellious Scots being crushed.3 points

What could the board say that would make any difference? They haven't sacked him, so what they're doing behind the scenes is all open to conjecture.3 points

No but Liverpool (the city) has been Irishified, just like Glasgow, Dundee and all the other shitholes that vote for people who hate being British.3 points

Although I do want us to win, winning the St Johnstone game will just be polishing a turd imo. The Europa league games will tell the MB supporters & the board what I believe they need to know, or maybe even already know, but are loathe to act on.2 points

No but they do suffer from exactly the same unwarranted exceptionalism syndrome as the SNP and its community of victimhood junkies. I wonder what grand political gesture was being made when they booed Ryan Jack again? Maybe the nationalist grunts thought he was playing for England, or was he just the wrong sort of Scot maybe?2 points

I'd just like to reiterate what Bluedell said. Football Insider is not a reliable source.1 point

Offering Barisic a contract extension would be a horrendous move by a clueless manager. Seems everything Beale does has the effect of ensuring mediocrity is retained.1 point

Those days are passed now And in the past they must remain But we can still rise now And be a nation again Seems fairly clear that the rising is talking about present day (note the use of "now") and not the Battle of Flodden.1 point

Yep, that was my problem with that approach from the board all along. All it took was to leak something off the record to Chris Jack or similar who then gives it 'my sources indicate Beale will be in charge for St Johnstone' and it kills all this speculation stone dead.1 point

The problem is, it creates a vacuum, where people will fill it there conjecture. Then from the players point of view, there is potential for them to become disheartened/down tools because they know he'll soon be out the door.1 point

It is a shocking state of play, that the club haven't put out a statement. You have the rags openly saying potter has turned it down. Folks in social media saying he's going. This isn't a good look for a professional club. I do wonder if he's had anything from the board, though.1 point

Haggerty laying bare the sheer hypocrisy of that lot with her comments. What are they like!? So TBB, NPoR and the Famine Song can be put in the 'football rivalry/banter' category again, I suppose. Fine by me. 😀1 point

Call it Out? Yesterday was the day after the night before. We had received a football schooling from Engerland and added to the national embarrassment, the wonderful Tartan Army failed again to show respect to another country and it's National Anthem. Further, the late Queen whom I believe was, 'Queen of Scots' was remembered by a chorus or two of, 'Lizzies in a box'. Our First Minister, Humza Yousaf showed his statesmanship by smirking throughout the booing and cat calling. Classy? PQ CSC need to act, this has to be put into perspective, amelioration is required. A BBC Scotland Producer decides the final arbiter on this issue is Angela Haggerty. Yep, that Angela Haggerty of Call it Out, Editor of Phil McFournames book, 'Downfall', whose son has Kevin McKenna for a Godfather, has an HND in Journalism from Cardonald College, .......................... etc. Angela, script in hand where the right type of bigotry and sectarianism is cloaked in euphemisms such as, "just rivalry" and, "cheeky". It is just too much fun and if we change the words George Orwell Newspeak style, then Angela, Susie McCabe, RAB Cosgrove, Gerry Braiden, Kevin McKenna, ......................... etc can continue to marginalise and demonise. There is hatred and then there is hypocritical hatred(sorry being, "cheeky"). According to Angela, everything is up for grabs in football "rivalry". Although Angela is on record as stating, "the only National Anthem I will not boo is the Irish National Anthem". Respect Angela! The build up to last week's old firm fixture at Ibrox had BBC Scotland in full on message to Peter mode. Continually emphasising the diminished factor of the fixture due to no Sellik supporters in the Stadium. Peter refused the offered allocation although PQ CSC were not keen to mention that and, the Green Brigade's contribution at the St Johnstone game ie, Rangers killed themselves and killed the fixture was, "too cheeky" because they unveiled the banners on the 66th minute. Angela was not invited to comment. Now, since it was Ally McCoist that raised the issue on the disrespect element whilst praising the Tartan Army for their rendition of Flower of Scotland, you would expect BBC Scotland to get Ally on as final arbiter? Well, that is most difficult because the former Rangers has not spoken to PQ for a decade. You see, BBC Scotland, the Producer, Martin Conaghan and, Presenter, James Cook all had to formally apologise to Ally after a recorded interview. They admitted editing the televised interview to intentionally make Ally look like he took the issue of sectarianism in a light hearted manner. They cut and spliced a joke at the beginning of the interview and placed that footage of Ally smirking at a joke, after the questions on sectarianism and bigotry. Hey, it's only cheeky rivalry by the PQ CSC.1 point

I don't mind national anthems before international sports events. It's a good opportunity to bring people together for a brief moment. I always love hearing La Marseillaise. I also enjoy watching sportsmen singing their anthem passionately - it can be quite stirring. The UK has an odd history, which causes a lot of the issues around anthems. GSTK is divisive and FoS has also become divisive because of Scottish Nationalism. I don't see these problems going away, so it'd be better if we all just got on with it and ignored people who act the goat.1 point
