I'm off out to watch the football but mainly because there's a burd I like where I'm going. Hopefully all the other blokes have kilts and see you Jimmy wigs on, improving my (admittedly slim) chances. 😀3 points

Voted no and have stated i'm allowing him the first quarter of the league campain to see a marked improvement in both results and identity in our style of play. Reason for me allowing him a little more time is when he took over from Gio he did steady the ship and was getting more from the players he inherited. However I do think he's made mistakes allowing to many players to leave in this window and trying to intigrate too many new faces at once which is why he's struggling to find a formation to fit them all in that suits.3 points

I believe, in the early days of football, it was steam-age away fixture logistics that stopped this coming about. By the time travelling the length of the country became more feasible the Scottish League was already established and thriving. But in the TV age, every year that passes Scottish football falls further away from the elite leagues and drags us with it. If we're to have any future we need to escape, but I doubt a British League would ever gain support. If it did, we'd need oil Sheik or oligarch money to make up the ground. Some kind of European league involving other big clubs trapped in small leagues seems more likely, but although the idea is raised once in a while it never seems to get anywhere. Even though I despise the Super League clubs, if ever they get their way it might indirectly open up possibilities for us.3 points

The fitba' team is playing Cyprus, in Cyprus, tonight, apparently. If you are up for it, Viagra Sports, or somesuch, has it, at 19.45, or thereabouts. The Rugby World Cup commences tonight, with FRA v NZ opening proceedings, at 20.00, a match which sounds like it could/should be a final, and I shall be watching that. (Frankly, I should choose to watch that, even if the fitba' was readily accessible.)2 points

I would agree. I don't think they have their heads in the sand. They must be working through processes so that we're not starting from a position of denial to having to hire a new manager when that time comes.2 points

Personally, I think Muscat was spoken to about his potential interest (and I'm sure a few others too) and they've denied it so it doesn't get out of control. They've given Beale a stay of execution but if(when) he slips up again, they'll have already sounded out some replacements and the process should be quicker2 points

I voted No, currently and collectively there are 19 of us. We hope. It’s a variant of faith and requires no actual evidence or coherent analysis, merely a belief that if we do nothing our malfunctioning manager will ‘come good’. By what means, none of us knows. Bold and decisive action is terrifying for us and must be put off until such time as either the redeeming miracle turns up or the situation gets so bad that it’s safe to be judgemental. Or, maybe we think 4 league games into the season is too early to condemn the poor bloke.1 point

Even if it means starting in league two. Abso 'bleeping' lutely. This might piss off a few kids in the class. Just keepin it real. The fear... The knowledge that we will no longer be a big fish in a small pond...just another fish. Battles for league supremacy will be uncertain, perhaps not even a possibility. Kiss European qualification goodbye for quite a few years...if lucky. We will just be, average, for a while. Maybe even bad. The whole 'most successful team in the world' moniker may ring a bit hollow as we are forced to truly fight for survival for the first time. Identity Identity Identity... Our duopolistic cartel would be dissolved and a HUGE part of our identity with it. Thus there will be a gaping hole left in the visage that took over a century and a half to create. As much as no one likes to admit it we are intrinsically tied in identity, culture, and image to them...our arch nemesis...the scum. A bit redundant to be a pro-crown, UJ waving 'Loyalist' club...in England. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but the whole point of that image is in antithesis to a broader, rebel Scotland. Missing the Pain... Finally, as much as everyone loves to complain about the SPL, refs, the press...THEM and their meddling, they love it. Deep down they love the Hell out of the consistent BS. Call it abused spouse syndrome, but like many abused spouses, it has become, partially, who we are. Doubt me? The financial collapse of the club over a decade ago...Allies? Proponents? Support? Votes for clemency? Nearly every substantial club and fanbase in the country wanted us destroyed, leveled, and deleted from existence...'SMACK!' A political, financial and legal frog stomp from an entire footballing nation...'SMACK'! Kicked out in the rain with a handful of lint and pair of Irish sunglasses. But what do I know...I am just that cousin in America telling you to pack your bags, for your own good.1 point

For me, I think we had to have a fairly significant player turnover (due to the last two domestic campaigns) but the main problem is he's let some useful players leave (Hagi and Sakala) whilst others (the defence), who are past it, have remained.1 point

It wasnt shoulder to shoulder - Maeda used his forearm. Soft though it may be, it was a penalty1 point

The worst of all worlds for me is that we win the next few domestic games but it's the usual struggle and we continue to play badly ....... allowing Beale to cling to his job while solving none of our problems and further delaying the day when squad morale sinks to the point where the whole thing implodes in a series of draws and losses. How many times have we seen this happen?1 point

My mistake, I meant an off the record word that they will back the manager in the short term. Expectations get set and we look at the next game. They clearly can do this as were quick to tell Andy Newport off the record they were not looking at Kevin Muscat and there had been no contact. Don't think they responded to the John Eustice rumours. But a betting man would wager that noise means they have been sounding out potential replacements.1 point

The second a director goes on the record either backing or criticising Beale the story will magnify enormously. Currently there is no story, it's largely discontented fans on forums or social media sounding off. Every PR person worth anything will advise the directors to say nothing, whatever their thoughts are. With no game this weekend there are no press conferences scheduled anyway, so any kind of statement, on or off the record, will simply give oxygen to something that will probably fizzle out naturally in the coming days. Whatever failings our directors might have, they surely understand that. I'd say the lack of comment or briefing suggests they don't want to publicly back Beale, which suggests they're not happy with our start either and know that unless there's a big improvement in the coming games there is only one way this ends. Clearly they've decided to give Beale more time, results will decide how long that is. Personally I'd make the hard decision now, (or 5 days ago) but I can see why they've decided to wait a bit longer. That might yet prove to be the correct decision, we'll see.1 point

Has he? Our board in hiding again. No one will to stick up for the manager or set expectations. leaking a puff piece to Chris Jack to try and undermine him? It looks like that certainly if its not the case. It seems Park, Robertson and Wilson are gone but the lack of leadership or accountability around the club are still the same with Bennet and Bisgrove are in charge. If the board want to stick by Beale then they should publicly stick by him, I'm not saying we need a statement on the club website or a youtube video - but they can speak off the record to fan media, Chris Jack, Andy Devlin eg and set narrative.1 point

I think there's quite a strong sense of it wouldn't be fair on Beale to sack him now. For my part I'm rather more concerned about what's fair for Rangers.1 point

You often hear how Bluenoses are demanding & unforgiving fans, the above poll proves this is not the case. Unbelievably 46.34% still want to give him more time. Ten months of suffering crap football is just not enough it seems.1 point

I think the League Cup final in particular was a managerial disaster and was the first real warning for me that something wasn't right with this regime. I don't know anyone who looked at the team selection that day and didn't think Beale had completely misjudged the game. With eyes thus opened, it's been clear that game wasn't a one-off. What also worries me is that the players must have similar doubts.1 point

Anyone watching Rangers' travails over the years must recognise the symptoms of a dressing room at odds with the manager. There can be no hope of success if that's the case .... and only one way forward.1 point

I know a lot of Bears talk up Souttar but he's cost us a few important goals. Definitely needs to improve his concentration levels.1 point

You are not. Maeda barged into him and kicked his legs ... I saw the slow-motion but once and was having a hearty laugh when there wasn't a VAR on this. Likewise with one of the Japanese jumping into Tav's ankles with a straight leg, leaving Tav on the ground. That was orange at best, and a sending off in Europe.1 point

I maybe alone in thinking that was a penalty. Not the harshest, but not the softest either. Maeda, not only barged Cantwell but he then smashed him with his arm in the process. If you look at the line Maeda was going in, it was a barge and no attempt to get the ball. Definite penalty for me.1 point

Maeda was a dirty bastard and the ref continually spoke to him (warned him at least 4 times) but refused to book him.1 point
