Gerrard was shown patience, even in the face of a number of disappointing results, because most of the support could see progress. We could see what Rangers were trying to do, we could see improvement on and off the pitch. We'd a style of play most of us enjoyed watching, we'd signings that improved the starting 11 and so after a disappointing result, while there were moans and annoyance, the majority of our support backed Gerrard because we could see what he was building and felt it would come right. The difference now is I can't see what he's trying to build. I don't know what style of play we're nurturing and so far only our keeper looks like a new signing that's improved our starting 11. Whatever faults GvB might have had Colak, Tillman and Lawrence all started their careers well, even Davies looked like a good addition early on. Supporters can be quick to judge and we're prone to extremes of emotion. But, we're not blind at the same time. Our pre season matches were concerning, our defeat to Kilmarnock was a worry, our victories in the league have been welcome, but not without nervousness. We did well against an out of form Servete, then were played off the park, twice, by PSV, a side we bested 12 months ago, then turned in a very poor performance, at home, against as weak a Celtic side as we've faced in 3 seasons. Seriously, can you point to something that mitigates Beale, something that points to better times to come?5 points

The vote is 21-17. WTF?! How? What is it you've seen that you want him to continue?4 points

Just what we need, a manager only able to communicate with the players through a translator. No thanks.3 points

Disagree. After getting pounded by PSV, we didn't exactly respond well a few days later, so maybe we need a break (I know I'm glad we're not playing for a couple of weeks). And it's the perfect opportunity to replace the manager.3 points

How about catching and punishing actual criminals? Or maybe just stop people who have worked hard all week enjoy a day out at the football. Thats much easier.3 points

Should PLG have been given two full seasons? Caixinha joined in March, and before the end of the season he'd managed to get hammered 5-1 to Celtic at Ibrox and lost 2-1 to Aberdeen at Ibrox. In 10 league games he managed to drop points in 4. In other words, the writing was on the wall from the very beginning. Should we not have sacked him? And saved him the hassle of explaining himself from a bush a few months later?3 points

Whilst Sundays defeat lays firmly at the door of Beale some of the vitriol directed at him online has been beyond the pale.3 points
-
The reason Beale needs sacking is because, 10 months in, he shows no signs of ever taking us in a direction likely to lead to the league title. That simple truth isn't any less valid because fans can't agree on a replacement manager. How many times do we have to go through the death throes of inept managers to learn the lesson that delaying the decision to sack him only makes matters worse?2 points

While the board have the benefit of seeing what's going on behind the scenes and speaking with the management team and players and so seeing a fuller picture than we do, they're also well aware of supporter sentiment plus are watching the same performances we are. I've no inside information but I'd be astonished if directors haven't discussed it, even informally. They know Beale is under pressure, Beale knows he's under pressure. I doubt anything will happen in the coming days, but I do think he's only a couple more poor performances away from the board deciding this can't go on. Beale doesn't have credit in the bank, it would be hard for any board to simply ignore supporter sentiment for an extended period. If Rangers can somehow find form and start winning with some style then Beale will be fine, the challenge the board have is whether they think that scenario is likely.2 points

I know a lot of Bears talk up Souttar but he's cost us a few important goals. Definitely needs to improve his concentration levels.2 points

You jest, of course and earn scornful laughter from Rousseau but auld Dick would have a plan, albeit unsophisticated and would drill the players to implement it as best they might and he would eliminate all midfield dwamming waiting for something to happen. The team only wakens up when the happening turns out to be the ball in Rangers’ net then they scurry about a bit.2 points

The DoF model appointed Beale, was then ditched before summer recruitment. The board had obviously saw the success of Postecoglou's recruitment and let Beale do his thing in the transfer market.....The board will see that the successful recruitment on the other side of the city lost three league games by mid September but then developed into a team (I don't see Beale doing the same but the board after spending the money probably have to give him a little longer). Now the talk is about getting the DoF model back in place before a new managerial appointment. We are all over the place trying to make up ground quickly and run before we can walk. Previously it was about gambling on too many 'outside bets' (players with quality who could be had on the relative cheap because they had significant issues, mostly injury related). I said at the time that it wouldn't work and would actually hinder a more medium term approach that might eventually work. On the finances, the board are doing their level best but it isn't easy. I am no defender of Beale. He is just another symptom of an more profound ongoing issue.2 points

Not if we get a good manager in. That meek performance against a makeshift yahoo side was a disgrace and that's mainly down to Beale, who is so obviously incapable of managing at a club like Rangers. Blaming the support is weird.2 points

I think that's a wild exaggeration. We didn't appear to miss him when he was out injured for weeks. If Rangers' fortunes are tied to Borna Barisic's presence then we're in deeper shit than I realised.1 point

I think those guys (I don't know much about Biscan) are out of our league, but I agree with your point.1 point

I'm fairly certain Beale won't be fired during the break but the board will have some sort of timeline for improvements in performances and results. Every match looks tricky with our current form and I think it's evident a large percentage of the support have made our minds up. For me, not firing him now is just delaying the inevitable and he'll be gone before the year is out.1 point

We’ve all known probably our biggest weakness is the defence and yet apart from the introduction of Souttar he hasn’t improved it in any shape or form if anything it’s got worse and it’s been costly. Successful Rangers teams alway had a good defence it’s like a hallmark I would bet opposing players can’t wait to take on our two full backs.1 point

A few of them have won things recently. A few others are fairly well respected. I just want someone who knows what they're doing.1 point
-
Have they though? Granted, they have backed him to 'make changes' to the squad, but we have balanced the books in the process - with total income very close to total spend. How much dosh is left? Left from what? There was zero to start with obviously. If we are living within our means, we shouldn't spend anything. However, then let's just accept 2nd best, whilst they hoover up titles, cups, trebles, guaranteed Champions League football with greater prize funds now on offer (from next season), let's meekly surrender our proud record of titles and trophy wins. They will be the most successful club in the world (domestically), it's close happening, so let's sit here and live within our means. OR....our board and investors find a way. They need to. OR, let's juts roll the dice again, you never know, we may roll a double six.1 point

I think what you’re seeing is the expression of hope. It’s a variant of faith and requires no actual evidence or coherent analysis, merely a belief that if we do nothing the malfunctioning manager will ‘come good’. By what means, no one knows. Bold and decisive action is terrifying for many and must be put off until such time as either the redeeming miracle turn up or the situation gets so bad that it’s safe to be judgmental.1 point
-
Its either now, after the next dropped points if we drop some before Celtic do, or he sees the season out. Or Celtic could lose their next 2 games while we win and go top and we can all pretend he's a genius.1 point

This very minute. There is an argument to let him go on to the end of the year but I’m not persuaded by it.1 point

Truth is I don’t have time to keep up with football outside of Rangers these days because I have a young family so I don't really know of anyone outside the box. Knutsen looks good on paper and I've been keen on him since pre-Gio. There's talk that Muscat is similar to Ange in his style of play? A quick look at stats and he has a better win ratio than Ange at the two clubs they've both managed at (there are slight sample size issues). You could argue Muscat benefited from the foundations being laid in both cases. Without being closer to it, I've no idea. He flopped badly in Belgium. Dejan Stankovic looked a good option pre-Beale, I was keen on him. He had experience of managing a team in an identical situation to us, at the top of a rubbish league with one strong rival. His record there was absurdly good, 78% win record. The best Red Star have ever had if you exclude small sample sizes. He subsequently got relegated with Sampdoria, apparently at least in part due to financial issues at the club though. He was appointed Ferencvaros manager 2 days ago. I'm going to follow him very closely there because that's a very comparable situation again, they are going for six in a row.1 point

Neither We are significantly detached from being in a position to win league titles and have been (bar 55) for over a decade. The reason that there is such a reactin to the weekend's result is that four games in and it already looks as if 23/24 has got away from us. We all know the importance of finance in football and we are well behind there aswell. So, when do we as a support wake up and show the necessary patience that this situation requires. The board are trying to improve our finances in a difficult environment. I am not ruling out changing a first team manager but when scarce resoures have been invested in the squad, we need to get real and show some patience instead of pretending the situation is the same as in the past.1 point

I doubt we have board members that would know a good manager if it bit them on the arse. Bisgrove, a glorified marketing executive that has done reasonably well bringing in some commercial revenue for us now running the club. He speaks well, but what does he know about running a football club? Same with Bennett, clearly a smart guy, loves the club, has supported the club financially, excelled in his career/industry, but is now running the club full-time with Bisgrove, between them they have no experience of running a football club. Does it matter? I would say so. On top of that, we have a coach, now rookie manager for us, running all recruitment and footballing matters, in addition to coaching, at a huge club in the absence of a DoF. I think the job is too big for all of them. Shit, did I just saw all that out loud?1 point

I agree with your point, but I actually think all the new forwards fit - except Dessers. Lammers' stats suggested a pressing forward, which fits a high press. I never thought he was a #10, which is where he has been played. Cantwell is far superior and had been very effective in that role. But, you're right, it has been a mess, in terms of set-up and use of players. It's a different front three every week! I don't know why he hasn't built on some interesting ideas, re the diamond. Perhaps he can't, or doesn't know how? I have other issues with recruitment, too.1 point
