Regards the anti social stuff it's about time the club did something about the coke dens in th toilets it's obvious that this goes on---maybe pay police to bring in sniffer dogs every now and again.7 points

I maybe alone in thinking that was a penalty. Not the harshest, but not the softest either. Maeda, not only barged Cantwell but he then smashed him with his arm in the process. If you look at the line Maeda was going in, it was a barge and no attempt to get the ball. Definite penalty for me.6 points

Maeda was a dirty bastard and the ref continually spoke to him (warned him at least 4 times) but refused to book him.4 points

Whilst Sundays defeat lays firmly at the door of Beale some of the vitriol directed at him online has been beyond the pale.3 points

If you need sniffer dogs to figure out what's going on in the bogs you must have a nose like Daniella Westbrook.3 points

Not ideal but I think you have to give him time to properly incorporate the summer signings and find his best starting combinations. Pre-season laid bare that we were undercooked and what has happened was always on the cards. Obviously the period of time given will be reduced if the tendency of performance and results don't improve. After financial front loading of squad development, we are staring at a potential widening gulf re. Españolification and as expectations get more unrealistic, fewer clued up managers will even want the job.3 points

Bigger league, definitely. Better paid job, probably. Bigger club, no. Bigger 'job', definitely not.2 points

I think a journo quizzed Moyes about how B&HA had 70% possession and he replied 'they can keep the ball, we'll keep the 3 points'. Or words to that effect. It's a simple game.2 points

The Kevin Muscat link is interesting. I've heard and read quite a few dismiss him fairly quickly. One criticism seems to be that 'we'd be copying them'. If it works, who cares? That aside there is some truth in that he's an Australian who has managed in Melbourne and is now managing Yokohama in Japan, very similar to the current manager of Spurs. He won the league with Melbourne and has now won it in Japan. Muscat has also been an assistant coach for the Australian national side, under the management of the current Spurs coach. So there are clearly parallels. Muscat also had an unsuccessful spell managing in Belgium for a side I'd never heard of. It seems clear that the standard of Japanese domestic football is higher than in Scotland. When you add in the huge cultural differences he must be experiencing then I think it's fair to praise what Muscat has achieved there. He's not some rookie, he's managed 3 club sides, winning the league with 2 of them. Another thing is Yokohama are part owned by the City Group, who own a plethora of clubs around the world, most famously Man City. I personally hate what they're doing to football, I'd outlaw multi club ownership and sports washing, but I'm not in charge so it is what it is. My personal animosity apart, City do seem to know what they're doing. Having billions at your disposable certainly helps you build a good infrastructure, and it seems they not only look for players, but also coaches too. Either way they seem to rate Muscat. His time at Rangers didn't ingratiate him to most of our support. He was a limited player at best, with a reputation for thuggery, he passed through fairly quickly without making much of an impression on me. Being a limited player has no bearing on whether you might be a good coach of course. So in his credit column he does have some experience of the club and the league. I've no clue if the link with Muscat is real or not, but it's not a ridiculous link. I suspect he's within our budget, as an Australian he'd have little trouble settling here, he knows the club and what's expected and he might view us as a good next step in his career.2 points

NB: While there is every reason to give Lowry game-time away from Ibrox, sending Hagi on loan too was a mistake. Maybe Lawrence and Lammers can cover for Cantwell, but his creativity is only rivalled by Hagi.2 points

All fair points. TBH I was just going off of what I have read in regards to their league positions. I have not really paid attention to how he sets his teams up etc so I can't really argue for or against. I feel torn as I really like Beale (I've followed him on social media for years and he and his family seem really happy with life in Scotland) however I am not sure he has the experience to turn this around.2 points

Potter did well at Brighton - most do well at Brighton. Potter got sacked by Chelsea - most get sacked by Chelsea. I wonder if it’s the Club and not the man.2 points

Even when the evidence is staring us in the face and waving a flag above its head saying "look at me", there will still be people who prefer the apparently reasonable approach of setting new goals and delaying the inevitable, presumably with the intention of exhibiting "fairness". It's called prevarication, the favourite hobby of people who prefer not taking decisions. Beale has been here 10 months. He's been able to rebuild the squad under his own personal direction. He has won nothing. He hasn't won a single game that counted for anything. But, more importantly, this isn't about Beale, it's about Rangers. By delaying the inevitable conclusion to Beale's tenure, it's Rangers we gamble with.2 points

I've been pretty clear on this for weeks. We look a slow, one dimensional, boring, predictable outfit under Michael Beale. We don't create many quality chances and we don't take many of the high quality that we do tend to create. I'm often left wondering what we are waiting for during games. Its like walking football at times. He hasn't wont a big game yet. In big games we seem to produce more individual errors than any other team I can remember. We are not being beaten by much better teams (PSV away apart) but against Celtic specifically in the league and cup games last season we threw those games away. Do I want him sacked? I don't want him sacked as much as I have lost all confidence in him and don't see any signs that he can turn it around. And the sooner we can make a change the sooner I believe we can salvage this season. But then we need to make sure the replacement is the right one. And the evidence suggests the board cant do that either. Gerrard was the exception to the rule. No manager will get a few trophyless seasons here again. I wonder if Beale expects the same level of time as Gerrard had to build something. When he came in as manager he made a lot of noise about how much he thought of the club, his connection with the support and how much he and his family enjoyed life here. It was a gamble putting that kind of information on the line as things can change very quickly here. Its a football club where winning is everything, life is on a knife edge. Its not a retirement village. Can he turn it around? Yes, of course he can. What does he need to do to turn it around? He needs to win. Quite simply. He needs to ensure the league cup is won. He needs to get this lethargic start to games we seem to have had for years now eradicated, and ensure we start games hungry with tempo. High pressing and high chance creation. He needs that team to go out and play every league and domestic cup game like its his last. I'd put Europe on the backburner to a degree as a run in Europe wont save his job if he falters domestically. Beating Betis wont win him back much of the support. Being close enough in the league to go top with a win at Parkhead in new year will. It looked like we were tentative and waiting for something on Sunday. It felt like that at Kilmarnock, Servette and at Ross County. It feels like we do that every week. That needs to go. We should have been more aggressive / physical from the off. The players could have blown themselves out and then had the international break to recover. We can also make 5 subs if players who are not fully match fit like Roofe get tired. I want him to be critical of referees if they make a bad decision. Call it as it is, if they make a bad call, tell the world. Complain about it. The next bad refereeing decision could cost him his job. Who cares about any touchline ban or fines that follow. He may be gone by the time the letter comes in the post. Don't do referees any favours by keeping your powder dry, they do none for us. Don't come out with 'I don't want to be critical of refs'. That just makes it easier for them to do us over. There were games at Tynecastle and Easter road last season where we approached games under Beale with a different level of energy. The evidence is there that we can do it. We just haven't seen enough of it. We need that every week. He needs to have belief in his signings. Back his own players. It worked last season with Cantwell and Raskin. Oddly both seem to have regressed massively this season. Get Danilo and Cifuentes in the team. Get Dessers sharp. Find a way to make Lammers effective. The club wont make a change yet rightly or wrongly. Everything is still in the managers hands. Its up to him where he goes from here.2 points

I voted to keep him as a new manager starting would have to be exceptional. These players claim Beale impressed them to sign so it's time they repaid him.2 points

He won't get sacked but he's on extremely thin ice. I would say yes if there was an obvious and readily made candidate but I'm not seeing it anywhere so I reckon hes got to be given time.2 points

If he stays then his job will be to secure runners up spot as I previously stated Rangers fans of the present day think this mediocrity is acceptable.2 points

You're right. Unfortunately, all clubs have dregs of society within their fanbase. In this day and age, social media allows them to spout their vitriol without consequence. Best thing to do is ignore and block these morons.1 point

I was being flippant, there, @Waltersgotstyle. Ostersunds have never been higher than 5th. He took them up from the fourth tier. They're now in the second tier. He did well at Swansea - I mean, they offered him another contract at the end of the season to fend off Brighton. His tenure at Brighton speaks for itself. Just because they hired DeZerbi - another coach I rate and have never stopped talking about for years - doesn't negate his work. I think he was doing fine at Chelsea considering the mess they were in. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. He's able to implement a style and be successful with it, usually with underdogs. We need a coach that can implement a style of play and beat 'superior' teams with it. To be honest, I'm not even sure he's an option. He'd maybe want a bigger job.1 point
-
To justify that surely you’d first need some sign he knows what he’s doing. I suspect the crowd reaction on Sunday will have been very sobering for Beale and I’d question whether he has the fortitude to cope with it. We’ll see.1 point

Potter finished his last season with Östersund in 5th place. He then joined Swansea who despite being newly relegated only managed to finish 10th in the English Championship Yes his time at Brighton was successful but they haven't exactly looked back since he left. Oh and we all know how Chelsea went. Are you sure he is the right man for the job?1 point

The same under all Rangers managers after Walter 2 including SG pre and post 55. The team needs a Greig to drive them forward. Matches aren’t won shuffling the ball side to side unless Beckenbauer’s in the side.1 point

To want to give Beale more time you first have to pretend the last 10 months never happened. Either that or you have a gambler's belief in miracles.1 point

MB appears to me to have some sort of shamanistic hold over some of the support. Everyone does of course have a right to an opinion regarding MB, but why is his shambles of a tenure not enough evidence to condemn him. That was the weakset I have seen the other lot for a long time and yet they came an took three points at Ibrox without any supporters. MB out !1 point

Heard that too about Beale’s contract. Similar to what Moyes had at Man Utd. He had a lengthy contract but if Man Utd got rid off him before the end of the first year he was due little or no compensation. He bombed in his first year & got binned by ManUtd1 point

It might help to explain why Beale is so keen not to have a DoF, or at least for any new DoF to be kept at arms length. Can't have anyone seeing too much of how the manager actually operates.1 point
-
He should stay. He should stay because firing a manager four league games into a season, might look at bit 'knee jerk'. Beale has lost the support. Teams exist for the purpose of entertaining their support. This may hurt team options for a seriously viable replacement. The club should be actively looking at options.1 point

The only way he can turn this around is to beat Celtic and win the league cup. Problem is we will lose more ground before then because he can’t set up a team to dominate and win and I can’t see us winning the league cup either. We are just so bad. I couldn’t care less about Europe.1 point

That's what's frustrating IMO. There were small signs he was heading in the right direction last season but he appears to have ripped that up and become too cautious IMO.1 point

Don't usually get caught out with these but a very dear friend of mine (aged 70 and female) was verbally abused by middle aged drunken Rangers fans on the Inverness train after the Ross County game. She was subjected to a tirade of shameful sexual insults and sectarian abuse because she told them their behaviour was out of order. They have been reported to the Transport police so I thought the article might be connected to that. It was very upsetting and embarrassing to hear her first hand account of this.1 point

MB should be sacked right now imo, but I doubt he will. I expect the board will give him more time. Maybe try to rescue the situation by hiring an experienced d.o.f to work with him. What I would like to see though, is MB out an a d.o.f/manager pairing brought in. A pair who have worked well together, successfully at another club.1 point
