  1. The footage of Michael Stewart and Connie McLaughlin making the QF draw is priceless - they looked like they were at a funeral.

  2. I saw the footage on another, well-known Rangers forum but unsure how to copy it. Here's a nice pic though...

  3. Hagi can get through a defence, he can hit a pass and he can get a decent shot away from further than a yard out. Apart from that he doesn’t do a lot. Do I remember a jet propelled Ian McMillan burning up and down the park? No, I do not.

  4. Nothing wrong with a player with a bit of arrogance

  5. Beale is losing me. So little of what he does seems to make sense. If Hagi has any self-respect he would table a transfer request.

  6. Sakala is another: never been so good since he left.

  7. It isn't about a particular allegiance to Hagi. It's the glaring reality that he's a better player than Lammers, Matondo, Sima or Dowell ... but still can't get a start, even against Morton.

  8. Beale has painted himself into a corner. He's signed a bunch of new players, several of whom have yet to show anything to justify their recruitment. So he has a choice - persevere with his newbies and hope they start delivering - or admit he's made a complete custard of our much-vaunted rebuilding exercise and fall on his sword. I'm hoping he pulls this off but I'm prepared for disappointment. When a manager works with his players every day and is still capable of schoolboy misjudgements like we saw in the last LC final, it's difficult not to harbour certain suspicions.

  9. At least we know what Hagi can do unlike some of the recent Beale signings

  10. MB is a fool, this is a foolish move, maybe even childish. Whether or not you like Hagi he could have been a good impact sub if not a starter.

  11. And yet he still somehow manages to look like an utter carthorse. If he keeps those numbers up throughout then it will speak for itself, but there just doesnt look like a player in there to me at this early stage. Looks like a downgrade on Colak.

  12. Poor Connie was absolutely devastated, and then when Michael Stewart picks us out at home oh how I laughed at the coupon on it. Worth the subscription fee alone.

  13. tims oot ra cup. Great isn’t it? But it shows the level to which Rangers have fallen that the feeling is one of relief that they’re out of the way rather than sneering contempt for their ineptitude.

  15. Apologies - you're quite right about the details of the case. And I agree - the damning evidence is there for all to see despite Greenwood paying his way out of bother. The absence of a conviction may still limit what the club can say about him though.

  16. I think you're misinterpreting some posts. Graeme just suggested if a player doesn't play, their value will decrease - that's just common sense. He didn't say Kamara should be playing.
    2 points
  17. Its the same with Kamara. If he can’t get a place in what is a poor Rangers team then why would any team pay £millions

  18. So now Hagi has become the latest player to become a better player the more he doesn't play. He's looked off the pace since returning from injury and look slow and languid. He never had pace to burn, but lost 1/2 yard. We wanted rid of all these failures, now we want to keep them. Make your mind up folks.

  19. Hagi isn't living on past glories. Just take a minute or two out to watch him play.

  20. That was 2 years ago. Living on past glories is why we are where we are

  21. "I have nothing to prove" Taken on its face that is about the dumbsest shit he could have said. Just blew his knee out, struggling for first team football. Slower than steam off shit and got nothin to prove eh? He better chill on that, or pray to God there is someone out there who can pay his tab. Nothin to prove...alright chief.

  22. There is one thing that bothered me about Hagi's post match interview from the weekend. He said he had nothing to prove, and that is simply wrong. Maybe he has an inflated ego and Beale doesn't like it. Thing is we don't know why Hagi is being overlooked, but it's not worth losing sleep over. I'm more pissed that Sakala was let go.

  23. Listen, it wouldn't bother me if we sold him and raised a couple of million to put toward the new Ryan Kent. I think his time with us is over. However, with the team not clicking and increasing doubts over some of the new recruits, I would have thought he'd get a proper chance to prove he's capable of adding value. I agree with you that he's not the quickest, but he doesn't need to be - he can turn a game around with some creative play - passes that can cut through defences (something we desperately need) and is a good finisher (in the box), he just needs game time to sharpen his tools. He had better numbers than Kent before his injury IIRC.

  24. The Hagi thing is very odd. Even if we want to sell him, he'd still be a useful option from the bench in such an important tie.

  25. Hagi and Yilmaz out, Davies and Matondo in. euro squad changes. Can’t understand that Hagi thing at all.

  28. I've heard they were there for the taking for the whole of last season, while they marched off with every trophy going and we came up with zip. They won't be there for the taking until we do what's required to take them. It's always best to do our gloating after the event.

  29. Could put him in the squad and then sell him. 🙂

  30. A wee request, could one of the Mods post the picture of Connie McLaughlin and Michael Stewart taken at yesterday's League Cup quarter-final draw? The photo is on page 29 of the Rangers - Morton match thread. It was taken after Killie had eliminated the country's establishment team 1-0 at Rugby Park. I believe it will enhance the piece written below. The Price of Love. A song penned and sang by the Everley Brothers some sixty years ago, rang too true as both Connie McLaughlin and Michael Stewart conducted the League Cup quarter-final draw at Rugby Park, in the immediate wake of their beloved Sellik's elimination. It proceeded from bad to worse as Michael drew ball number one, Rangers for a home tie against Livingston. Michael looked like he had just been informed that Papa Bear had shat in his porridge. Meanwhile, Connie had just heard her brother, Chris was demanding she once more attach the big wooden strap-on. Incest is a game for all the family. "You talk too much, you laugh too loud". There is a cracking version of the song on YouTube by Bryan Ferry, propelled by Chris Spedding's driving guitar. Connie and Michael's version was on Viaplay but, they go way back together. Both have been presenters on ra Sellik TV, both are across BBC Scotland and, when the refrigerator door opens and the light shines; both will perform a Peter created choreography : "that's the price of love, the price of love - the debt you pay with tears and pain". As Rangers supporters, we know we have to negotiate three further games to pick up a trophy last secured by the club in 2011. Our current form suggests tough times lie ahead but, we must thank Michael for drawing a home tie. He becomes part of the conspiracy. Talking of which, I note Tam McManus is on the back page of today's Sun proclaiming Sellik's last minute penalty claim to be, "the biggest stonewaller I have ever seen". Tam is 42, he has been playing and watching football for 35 years plus, the biggest stonewaller ever, really? "Wine is sweet and gin is bitter - you drink all you can but you won't forget". Taking to the swally is the way ahead at PQ. Their main Sellik man, Pat Bonner is tea total but he still cannot name the vast majority of opposition players. This does not matter because he only ever covers Sellik games and only watches one team. Obviously, Pat's ears have been clothed and the others paying the price of love too because, none of them have commented on the now usual vile sickening sectarian abuse directed at Killie Boss, Derek McInnes by the greatest supporters in the world. It's the Price of Love.

  32. Mega confused. Hagi always seems to show he's hard working and capable of creating, why is he so far down the pecking order? Why did Beale extend his contract?

  33. De Boer said of Dessers that he's a confidence player, and that seems to be bearing out, he's getting better every game.

  34. Not really IMHO, I've always been quite relieved when they're oot any cup we could play them in, as the same sneering contempt that you mention features in that I just don't wanna be on the same park as them. I don't particularly think we've fallen that far either, it's a few games into the season, it'll come. SG had Brenda's cards marked, I'm sure Beale will too.

  39. Ima shoot you straight. Fascination and corollary are not necessarily linked. Ange is simply the most apt comparison to where we are at. Any insinuation of heresy, or a turncoat mentality for logical, critical thought is asinine. Actually, I can find no other more appropriate example as Souness coached in a time where things were very different at Rangers. The fat Greek lost three of his first six league games. However his team outscored opposition 16-4 over those first six. To include two 6-0 wins. Those are green shoots, those are signs that a system is in work and a transition is taking place...progress. This team are not showing ANY signs of progress. To make matters worse Beale took his last opportunity to set a shaky squad in prior to a monster (no exaggeration) game against PSG. He played a team packed with bench players who are even less 'gelled' resulting in a near loss. Thus robbing his true first string of that last opportunity to set in. Make no mistake about it, PSG and probably gonna beat the breaks off our ass on Tuesday, and then Beale will be on life support. I don't want it...but it's lookin that way.

  40. I hope it doesnt come to this, but that result could be of importance to us if, as looks quite likely, we're going to drop to the EL. In that case we could be in Pot 1 of the draw, only if Zagreb and Ajax don't also make the EL group draw, as both have a higher coefficient than us. We should hope now that Sparta Prague beat Zagreb in the EL play-offs (Zagreb don't drop into the EL groups, as we would if we lose to PSV, they have to play in an EL play-off). Ajax are in the play-off of the EL, against Ludogorets, so chances are they will win that.

  41. Rangers support are psychotic - spend 10mins on here and you'll see that. Ibrox can be a brilliant place to watch football, it can also be a horrible place. The difference is usually how the team are doing. I don't believe calling our players "c<nts", "lazy barstewards", "w@nkers" is the best way to support the team. Maybe I'm wrong tho.
